perfect for families with children! ”
We absolutely loved our three-day stay at the Majestic Malacca! From the moment we stepped into their beautiful reception hall, we were treated right royally! In our rush to get off the express coach from Singapore, my husband had forgotten his backpack... But the concierge called the company on our behalf and even went out of his way to collect the bag from the bus terminal. In the meantime, the other receptionist tried their best to welcome us and ease our minds with a welcome tea. Everyone must have the high tea at the Majestic Malacca--someone had written a review saying they weren't impressed with it. We thought it was better than the high tea at the Shangrila in Singapore, which has to learn a thing or two from this simple but meaningful high tea. In each tier, we had something that represented the different cultures in Malacca. We enjoyed the Nonya Kuehs, the little sandwiches, and the savory short eats. A vegetarian also had choices. We loved the high tea so much that we had it twice! Of course, the room is luxurious and I chose it because my daughter loves baths in beautiful bath tubs. Every evening, the room was ready for us with a few orchids and a tray of Nonya Kueh. Throughout the hotel, there were jars of sweets, which my daughter would like to dip into now and then--we ate new foods and we learned about a new culture simply through these little treats. The breakfast too was scrumptious--guests could have both food from the buffet and order ala carte. Again, there was enough choices for a vegetarian and the different cultures were well represented. The only complain is the tea--the Majestic needs to have a better morning tea. Finally, don't miss the free guided tour of the city--he takes you through the city and tells you the history of each and every thing but also tells you the good places to eat! But most of all, we loved the service--the staff at the Majestic Malacca from the doorman to the waitress treats you like a special guest!
Excellent hotel”
The Majestic Malacca Hotel may be a small hotel in terms of the number of rooms and floor area, but I would consider it a great hotel because of the quality of its service. The moment we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted with heartfelt smiles. During our 2 nights stay in the hotel, this is the kind of smiles we saw from every member of the hotel staff team. Everywhere in the hotel including the lobby, the room, and the restaurant, we could sense the kind of comfort and coziness. The hotel faces the Malacca River, we could see the river and the Malay village from our window and the view was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the high tea at the lounge during the afternoon, we would regret very much if we had missed the afternoon high tea. We had Nyonya food for our dinner in the restaurant, it was really wonderful - delicious food, with cozy ambience! The bar located in the hotel lobby is small but cozy. The bartender was also very friendly and helpful. It was a great place to have a drink and snack. The swimming pool is rather small, it is not unexpected due to the limited floor area. It is definitely not the kind of swimming pool for serious swimmers, but good enough for poolside sunbathing and stretching your limbs. Overall, we enjoyed every bit of our stay at The Majestic Malacca !
Excellent hotel, great service and ideal location!”
my wife & i took our 20 month old boy for a quick holiday in malacca. we had heard many good things about the majestic and we were not disappointed. it is a very nice boutique hotel, has friendly staff, superb service and is located in a very convenient and easy to get to location. while we had arrived earlier than the designated check-in time, the staff were happy to accommodate us by giving us the room early (our baby boy needed his lunch and had to be changed). we had also requested for a baby cot which was made available to us at no charge. the room was very nice and comfortable, and had a good view of the river. our son loved it. the hotel itself is not big but it had a gym and a small pool (as well as a spa). very convenient! the lobby was also spacious with ample seating and there were jars of old fashion cookies lying around which our son eagerly ate. the restaurant located above the lobby was also clean and bright, and the food (breakfast) was excellent. the staff took good care of us especially our son. they showered him with attention, always happy to play with him and made him really happy. during breakfast, they provided him with plastic cutlery and even though he made a mess, they were very understanding. as for parking, there's an open air car park right next to the hotel which is under 24/7 security. it is very convenient to get to except if it rains as there is no sheltered path. however, i'm confident that the hotel will provide assistance (we saw umbrellas nearby). overall, we enjoyed our short stay in malacca thanks in no small part to the majestic. we will definitely be back!
Majestic Malacca Hotel gave us a lots of surprises! ”
we were celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, thus we requested the hotel to provide a room with nice Malacca view (yes, we love Malacca so much) , and Majestic Malacca really provided us a room on higher floor facing nice Malacca view! few things we would like to share here: 1) the staffs are so professional and friendly. 2) the services are excellent! 3) Thanks for all the surprises that Majestic Malacca has made: i) hanging red cloth and red balls on our room door. (^___^) ii)prepared the roses petal bath for us.
Best hotel service I had in Asia”
We only stayed one night in Majestic and I think we should have stayed more. As you arrive the staff welcomes you and seats you down on sofa, offers wet towel and water while the reception checks you in (you do not need to be standing or queuing at the counter!!). Than the receptionist takes you to your room where she offers you a lovely jasmine tea (she brought it ready with her in a pot). The rooms are great, in old colonial style, the bathrooms to match. Fairly generous with space too. The whole hotel is bit unexpected, it is at the end of not-so-nice road, than you see this old but nice house and behind it small hotel. The actual house was refurbished to house the reception and the restaurant/bar and the building where all the rooms are is newly build (but the furnishing inside is to look old). I think they've done a good job matching the old with the new so it does not look tacky. Anyway, the best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are very personable, friendly and attentive. We especially liked who gave us a walking tour of Malacca (hotel offers this for free) and she answered our endless questions both days. We did not managed to use the swimming pool (it's just a small one) or the spa - this looked great and the spa prices looked reasonable too. We had dinner at the hotel - local food tasting menu, again the staff was helpful with the food explanation. The breakfast was excellent too, there is small buffet with continental style breakfast and than you can pick from the menu to have a freshly cooked item. Very good choice of food to cater for anyone.
Malacca Majestic Hotel”
We enjoyed staying at the Majestic Malacca Hotel. It is a beautifully renovated mansion and once you step inside it feels like you've just been transported to another time. The ambiance was very much colonial with attentive staff; older furnishings throughout the lobby, sitting rooms and guest rooms; and options for afternoon tea and a small bar. Malacca was very interesting and we enjoyed learning about the history of the area, wandering through Chinatown and taking a tri-shaw tour to see the highlights. The town was more dusty and run-down than I anticipated, but I could also see that a lot of work was being done on renovation and upgrading.
The Majestic Malacca”
The Majestic Malacca is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The accommodation wing is all brand new but the rooms are stylishly decorated in an 'older style'. In the original building which houses the foyer they have gone to painstaking trouble to retain original heritage features such as the floor tiles (it would have been so much easier to have ripped them up and replaced them with new but their restoration adds rich character. The staff were friendly, welcoming and lovely. At the end of our short stay I really didn't want to leave such a beautiful hotel. I will definitely stay at the Majestic Malacca again if I visit Melaka again.
Beautiful Boutique hotel but walls are too thin”
My husband and I took our two year old daughter to Malacca for a quick weekend. We loved the Majestic's look - it combines Peranakan architecture with modern lines. Our room was a corner room - not much of a view, but we were in the city. We had a lovely bathtub - it had the look of the old-fashioned claw-footed bathrub, but in actually was made of fiberglass. Still, my daughter and I enjoyed a nice hot bath. The hotel also has a little plunge pool and a gym, neither of which we used. Location was right next to the river - a ten minute walk upstream took us to the Malacca River Cruise. Take that instead of a taxi for a tour of the sights. We had breakfast included - it was very nice. One major con was that the walls of the Majestic seemed to be very thin. During my daughter's afternoon nap, you could hear the vaccuum cleaner in every single room they cleaned. At night, there was a baby next door who cried quite late at night, but I think this was because he was awoken by the sound of someone upstairs taking a bath, which we heard as well. So overall, we had a nice stay at the Majestic, but don't stay there if you have any sensitive sleepers in your group!
Stylish room”
There is really nothing to fault this hotel. Room design is impressive especially the bathroom. Room size is relatively large and very clean. Upon check in, you will be given a large pot of welcome tea. Tasty breakfast too.. This hotel is located 15 minutes away from jonker street. The price of the hotel is also very reasonable for such a classy place. The 2 best hotels in Malacca are" Majestic Malacca" and "Casa Del Rio" In terms of style and location, "Casa Del Rio" beats this hotel slightly. "casa Del Rio" also have bigger room. But the price of Casa Del Rio is steep compared to this hotel so people who wishes to pay less but get almost equal comfort and service level should consider this hotel. In short, worth every cent..
Historical hotel with great features”
The Majestic Malacca is a great hotel for those who like historical hotels with all the modern conveniences. The original mansion houses the public rooms while the bedrooms are in the adjoining modern building, so you have the best of both worlds: charm with great bathrooms. They have even fit a small but nice swimming pool into the grounds. The restaurant food was great, including a nice buffet breakfast. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the center or you can take a boat down the river next to the hotel. We thought we were wrong at first because the immediate neighborhood is very plain, but it's around the corner from the Renaissance, and the area seems OK. We loved our stay here and highly recommend the hotel.
Colonial luxury in modern times”
Coming into Majestic Malacca Hotel felt like stepping back at least a century but with the conveniences of modern living. The female host welcomed us with a tea ceremony in the room, like having your own personal butler. The high ceilings and the woodworks are so grand, the furnitures elegant and luxurious. From the windows we can see the windy river and the commercial areas, although there is no noise at all. We had a good night sleep in the comfortable beds and fluffy pillows. Jonkers Road night market just a short cab ride away for us seniors. Pastries, food, tea, cheap trinkets and small novelties abound but not really an exciting shopping venture. After checking out, we were able to freshen up at the spa rooms, a very luxe place but quite pricey for us, too.
Excellent Service”
Really in love with this hotel. The service is excellent! I think this is one of the best hotel i had ever stayed in my life :) The hotel comes with a cozy gym and nice swimming pool, lovely library and a vintage bar. After passing by the Spa Village located under the ground floor, i decided to go for the "Campur-Campur" spa...which is so wonderful! really worth paying it for the relax and enjoyable moments. The hotel is so sweet with a complimentary tea when we arrived in the hotel and the hotel staff even brought us with have a short tour for the hotel. When we back to the hotel during evening, a traditional nyonya kuih is served in our room too! really considerate and caring from Majestic. Another thing would like to highlight is the bathroom inside our room! Is real beautiful and don't forget to enjoy your sea salt in the elegant bath tube! Such a memorable night in Majestic, and surely will be back to this Hotel. I would rate this is the best hotel in Malacca :)
Always our favourite in Malacca”
Majestic never disappoints. Have stayed here in total 4 times over the last few years. and It's still very well maintained. The staff are so polite and obliging. The rooms are comfortable, albeit it's getting a little old. The aircon this time wasn't up to par, not as cool as I remember it to be. But thankful for the ceiling fan, so we didn't kick up a fuss. The tiny and thoughtful Kueh kueh that is delivered daily is a sweet touch. After a long day out in Malacca town, it's always nice to come back to a hotel that feels like home, and not some commercial hotel chain. Will always pick The Majestic over any other hotel in Malacca.
Awesome hotel with great services”
My family and I had a memorable and great hotel stay experience in Majestic Malacca Hotel. Besides the beautiful boutique style hotel, all the staff are highly commendable for their quality services. The buffet breakfast was quite good but only have limited choices. (must try the French toast). Although it is a small size hotel, but it is certainly up to a 5 stars hotel. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and would like to stay here when we visit Malacca next time.
Awesome Service from Hotel Staff”
Hotel staff were extremely polite and patient... must have taken the management some good time to identify and hire such pleasant staff with impeccable service. Would also like to take this opportunity to commend Melissa (whom I believe is the team lead/manager) for going the extra mile to make my folks so happy, by making countless suggestions on where to visit, what to eat, for clueless people like us, who didn't really plan for our trip to malacca. I recall Melissa spared no effort in recommending which cuisine to go for, even as my family was indecisive on what to eat. Melissa was also sure to greet my parents with the most personable and genuine smile each time she caught us at the lobby, followed by some questions... just to be sure that we enjoyed ourselves while we were out. and typically, the discussion wouldnt just end there... While most reading this probably expect all of the above of a hotel like Majestic, Majestic should definitely not be compared against other 5 star hotels - because service rendered by staff is much much more personable, much more genuine. You just know it when they greet you..... their faces don't automatically scrunge into the seasoned let-me-give-you-a-smile look. awesome!
Wonderful boutique luxury hotel - good price”
Spent a wonderful weekend in Malacca at the Majestic hotel. A 10 minute walk from the city centre, it is only a few years old in its present state. The initial building dating back to the 1930s has been lovingly restored to health and the new building houses the very comfortable modern rooms. King size bed with huge cushions, bath as well as shower. We also used the spa which was a very attractive place and the treatments were very reasonably priced. Last but not least the hotel offers a free tour of the city with a very knowledgeable local guide - very interesting.
My fantastic moment spent in Majestic”
We enjoyed our stay in Majestic very very much as the place was filled with a lot of warmth from the front desk staff to the concierge to the bell boy and the personalized service of bringing us up to our room and going through the room amneties with us. The welcome tea and cakes were so fantastic and we felt very appreciated. The tea was so fantastic that we bought 2 box of it. The room was so nice and this is the first hotel we have been to which has a fan in it!. It was very helpful to us as it provided warmth and comfort eventhough we didn't on the aircon. However there is an area of improvement for the breakfast section. The food selection was small eventhough it tasted extremely good. The top up to the buffet was slow and we wished it could be faster. Other than that, Good job Majestic!..we will certainly come back to this hotel for our next trip in Malacca..
Well run hotel”
The Majestic Malacca is situated by the river about 20 minutes walk from the central tourist area around Jonker Street. You can also walk along the river boardwalk to Jonker Street but it takes twice the time. The hotel is well run and all the staff are friendly and enthusiastic. The pool area is pleasant but small; however, we never had any problem obtaining a lounger. Overall we enjoyed Malacca and the Majestic hotel.
Relaxing overnight trip from KL in historic town”
Majestic Malacca is a gorgeous historic hotel with beautiful design in both the common areas and in the rooms. It's perfect for guests who like to enjoy the hotel, but also wander by foot to nearby attractions. We were treated to an old fashioned tea service in their room upon check in, which featured a delicious lychee tea. We then walked by foot in the surrounding neighborhoods to check out Malacca's UNESCO sights. The hotel staff was very attentive, whether it was for walking directions or to order lunch, which is served in their very cool "library" room. The only downside is that internet is only available in the lobby and is very slow.
Excellent hotel with great staffs.”
It was a pleasant stay in Majestic Malacca. Originally I was booked a deluxe room with twin beds which my friend was travelling together with me to explore the city of Melaka. Due to high occupancy rate, we got upgraded to the Majestic Suite, which is one of the signature suite of this hotel. The suite was fantastic, the bed was comfortable and clean. We love the hotel staffs, they are very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
