Beautiful place & the rooms are nice. It’s worth the cost to upgrade to a partial sea view room. The food is fantastic, especially surprisingly the pizza and the Italian selections. They are relatively authentic and nicely prepared. the main issue was getting there. There’s a 4-5 hour drive from Cebu. If it’s just you or one or more people then go with the air condition bus that leaves out of the North terminal every hour. It’s about five dollars Us each way. Just don’t drink too much water on the bus as there is no bathroom and you get one stop midway. There are private cars you can take, but that’s only advisable, If you have a group in each person is pitching in. Once you get to the port, there is a commuter boat that takes you over around 300 per person - it changes based on how many passengers are traveling. Most of the resorts will try to push an exclusive private trip to get there (it’s kind of a scam) , which is about $8000 pesos each way or around US$150 each way and it’s totally unnecessary and way overpriced if it’s just a couple of people going. My main problem with this resort and I’ve been there twice and we’ll go again as I emailed the concierge many times asking for options and I keep getting the exclusive package pitched to me and no help or info on the value oriented routes. Possibly the worst travel hassle was when I got to the island we had to roll 60 pounds of scuba gear in a normal suitcase across the beach around a half of a mile across beach sand through these tight alleys loaded with people roosters and trash . By the time we got to the resort I was spent. On the way back I learned after speaking to the gal at the front desk that there is in fact a small boat that will take you from the resort to the port and vice versa for around five dollars. So we took that back, but I was a little bit upset that that wasn’t suggested to me on the way there. The hike there took away from the first afternoon I was there. I only spent two days at the resort so it was a kind of a big deal. I don’t understand why they would allow you to walk through possibly the worst part of the island to get to their resort. It’s antithetical to the way resorts usually treat people. Imagine having to drag a 60 pound bag across the beach for about a half a mile in 90° hundred percent humidity weather. Hospitality 101 one says you should at least offer to take the guest bags when they get anywhere near to your place. I wound up carrying my bags downstairs when we checked out too. You’ll find these kinds of scenarios everywhere you go in the country. Most people here do not understand the basics of hospitality or what their guests are expecting for their vacation stay. A bit ironic in a nation that supports itself largely through tourism.
I think everything about this hotel is on point. The location is right on the beach and very well maintained the rooms are comfortable with all the amenities. The restaurant is actually very good and has one of the more diverse menus that I came across. But I think I really have to give a shout out to the staff who are really very good. One staff member in particular Angel is an absolute ray of sunshine and I really really enjoyed her presence on my vacation so big thank you to her.
Location: This is the best section of the island…the beaches are clean and it’s active enough but peaceful and restful. Rooms: The beds were comfortable and the rooms were cleaned everyday. The hot water was fast and consistent. The AC was very strong. Most if not all room seemed to have a private balcony and many have at least a partial ocean view. We relaxed there when we just wanted a quiet moment together. The was also a fridge to keep things cool. Food: We loved the breakfast! The omelets were so good. Pastries were nice. Also different sausages and meats everyday. For dinner we ordered the pizza (they had a proper pizza oven!) The drinks were great. We especially liked the mango ones. Staff: Everyone was happy, kind, and so helpful despite having to help many people. Activities: We did the snorkeling boat ride at sunset. It was amazing. Totally recommend it. We also like snorkeling out just where we were. Found some great patches of coral out there. All in all, thank you everyone at Exotic for the most wonderful restful trip. We will be back!
It’s is the best located place on the island as far as beach, sun beds , cleanliness of beach as it is dirty , dog poo everywhere ( but least the dogs as fed here!) least friendly island in general, food / service average in restaurant. Rooms scruffy, curtains don’t fit, needs a paint job, cold sea water for showers.. certainly not delux on any level but good location and good place for diving. Aside from diving there are much nicer islands / beaches to visit . We have stayed at many locations and this is the worst standard of accommodation

We just wrapped up an absolutely fantastic two-day stay here, and we're already dreaming of coming back! We had a couple of rooms for our group, and both were incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. From the moment we checked in, the staff made us feel so welcome. And the food? Oh my, the food was a highlight! Every meal we had, from breakfast to dinner, was delicious and beautifully presented. There was such a great variety, and everything tasted fresh.
