Read the fine prints, so no surprises!”
Reserved 2 double beds for a couple with 2 children. The hotel charged P1500 each children on top of the cost per room. So the room is P4k + P3k is P7K per night. Its ridiculous price for the kind of accommodation they offer. On the other hand, staff has excellent customer service.

No internet, just dogs”
We got Wi-Fi, but unfortunately it wasn’t connected to the internet which is what you might expect. Stray mangy dogs were allowed to wander around restaurant looking for handouts. There seemed to be a kennel on the property with howling dogs. Very strange. However the rooms were spacious and air conditioning worked great

Great stay. Great hotel. Recommended.”
Had an excellent stay at this resort. Offers diving and snorkelling for those interested. Also has a huge pool and two smaller ones. Not sure if any other resort on the island offers pools. The water in the pool was unbelievably hot! The resort is right on the beach. Our room was along the side in the garden at the back. Possibly the longest walk you'll have to the sand and beach is about 30 metres. The water in the sea too is very warm and crystal clear. Like a dream! Malapascua Island is still not the most "touristy" of places so it's great for a few days of sun, sea and relaxation. Not so busy. There are many bars along the beach for relaxation, dinner etc. Try Ocean Vida and the excellent Craic House too. Both next door to the left and right of this resort. We also stayed at Ocean Vida. The one "plus" that this place had was a TV in the room with many channels available. But that might not be necessary for everyone, of course. Both resorts have their advantages I suppose.

Awesome Place for the Family!”
Amazing Place to stay in the paradise of Malapascua Island. Malapascua Legend is the excellent choice to stay with your family specially if you have kids. Two thumbs up for the free breakfast with unlimited drinks or coffee at the table. Their service is impressive. The Pool is very safe for children because it is separated from the adult. Rooms is stunning modern and hi-tech! MALAPASCUA LEGEND is a 5 star for me.

Four days in paradise”
Our stay was off to a not-so-pleasant start - a misunderstanding led to our transport from Cebu City to Malapascua being postponed by 14 hours, so we had to spend an extra night in Cebu City. Eventually they were able to refund us for the night we were not at the resort. Other than that, the experience was sublime. The beach is right there with warm turquoise water and warm sand, plus women who will give you hourlong massages on the beach for approximately 10USD. Even though our last day there was stormy, we were quite cozy in our suite with books and room service. The food was reasonable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and kind. A few tips - don't make any promises to the kids who sell stuff, because they will not leave you alone! Same with people offering you boat rides to snorkel etc. - just say "No thank you." The cocktails at Ocean Vida (just a few resorts down Bounty Beach) are insanely good :)

Good value for money with helpful friendly staff”
I stayed in the Budget room for my first 5 nights due to availability over new year and then moved to the Native room for the last 6 nights. Both rooms were what you would expect for the price I paid, clean bedding and room in general but seriously in need of a lick of paint. The budget room actually had a newer aircon unit than the native but both worked very well and although the rooms were a bit tired looking they suite my purpose and I'm not too fussy anyway. The hotel pool was large (and deeper than usual for dive training) but cleaned daily and was ideal to relax by after a dive session. The food in the restaurant was mix of Asia and Western and tasty and staff were friendly and always available. If you're not looking for high end luxury and happy to accept a little rough around the edges for good service and clean tidy accommodation then I would definitely recommend Legend hotel! Quick tip, if you book transfers and boats through the hotel, make sure you pay the hotel ONLY and not the pick up car driver or boat people, otherwise you might end up paying twice!

Clean and comfortable”
Although my stay didn't get off to the best start (my room wasn't ready when I checked in, and it took 3 reminders to get someone to clean the bathroom and fix the light), the reception staff were very helpful and responsive to queries, including extending my stay and helping me find somewhere to buy some odds and ends, plan my onward journey, etc. There was no pressure to use their affiliated facilities, which I appreciated, as I had organised diving through the excellent Evolution. The food at the restaurant was better than I had expected, and the help yourself juice and tea/coffee at breakfast was appreciated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and although it was very hot during my stay, the fan was adequate. There was no WiFi in the budget rooms, but the restaurant / beachfront area was a pleasant place to relax and use the WiFi so that wasn't a bit issue. I really enjoyed my stay on Malapascua, which was just one week before Typhoon Yolanda, and would encourage people to visit the island and help it get back on it's feet.

One of the better hotels in Malapascua”
From what I noticed, its one of the better resorts in Malapascua. If I'm not wrong, it has the only swimming pool on the island. It's located right in the middle of Bounty Beach which is the main beach of the island. It is also right beside Seapark Diving which is an awesome dive shop which i HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I did however find the food pricing rather expensive. Breakfast was average. Cable televsion was okay, however reception can be bad at times. But overall its a decent hotel and I would recommend it for families.

Best Value AC Room”
Malapascau hasn't got the cheapest accomodation in the philippines and having looked at almost every option on malapascau i'd say the Legend Resort shared bathroom rooms are the best value. The rooms are small but the bed is comfortable and has cable TV with a movie channel, you also get access to the large swimming pool and loungers. We tried a couple of nights with fan only but the room became very hot as there was no outside breeze, so the extra few dollars for AC was well worth it (rooms 104 and 105 have windows that face the ocean so may be better). Bathrooms are brand new and cleaned every day, there were 4 toilets and 5 showers, no issues getting access when needed. Breakfast is quite good, choice of eggs and bacon, omelette or cornflakes served with juice and tea or coffee and a slice of mango or banana. The budget rooms are right above the seapark dive centre, who we dived with, they were great and it was so handy to just have to walk down a flight of stairs to be ready to dive - especially with the 4am start for the thresher sharks! When it's time to head to the mainland it's possible to get one of the private hotel boats on bounty beach (just outside the hotel) to take you for 100 pesos, if they have other guests. Saves the 10 walk to logon beach.

perfect location .. ok hotel”
The day we arrived the staff gave us our welcome drinks. Everything was perfect, location, staff were nice and very accomodating. Until we had our lunch where our food came in late and the meat was so hard and complained about it staff explained they had to microwave as it was cooked the night before but noticed that they took it very well and when we asked for small stuff like asking for a lighter or a bucket of ice no one would help us anymore... So we decided to just ask locals where we can buy food for our dinner and locals even helped us cook our meal. On our departure they were charging us for drinks / additional person and breakfast that we had paid in cash as soon as we checked in. I dont know if thats what they do and get away with other customers or just a miscommunication amongst other staffs. All in all Malapascua Island itself is very Beautiful. Will definitely go back to that Beautiful Island but not at the Hotel.

malapascua 18/10/14”
Malapascua is a lovely island, the beach is nice and the water warm. The hotel however left a lot to be desired. The pool was nice except for the numerous stray dogs drinking from it. the air conditioning unit had a hole down the side of it and was very noisy, the shower was just a trickle, it is appreciated however that this is a very small Island, and we had twin beds instead of a double. the swim up bar was delapidated, there were building works going on at the end of the pool, we did not have a key to our safe, when asking we were told the previous guest must have taken it. we only ordered food once, a cheese and ham toastie which bared little resemblance to is description, it was appreciated by one of the poor skinny stray dogs however. The arranged transfers were all on time so that was good. the hotel manager, when we were sitting by the pool, actually asked us where we staying, a bit odd.

Fun yet Unforgettable Experience”
1. Food/Dining - the order takes around 45 minutes. Better order earlier if you are quite hungry. 2. Hotel Cleanliness & Room Comfort/Standard - the staff are not strict on the number of heads per room. they even gave us an extra bed. however, there were a lot of flies & mosquitoes. My niece (2 years old) had 12 mosquito bites all around her body even with mosquito repellent. 3. Location - it was mostly near everything. 4. Staff Performance - the receptionist was great but the waitresses are not attentive. 5. Over-all Experience -we went island hopping & swam in the secluded island. but on April-19, 2014 at around 7:30pm, a scary/traumatizing incident happened while we were eating our dinner buffet at Malapascua Legend but still we paid for the dinner. it was not the fault of the hotel though. it happened on the dive shop right beside the hotel.

Very comfortable”
Place lacked the refinements for the price paid. However food & drink was good, pool was great, beach side location was ideal. The real downside was the number of mangy flea ridden dogs roaming & defecating on the beach and freely wandering through the restaurant. However I recommend Malapascua for beaches & diving.
