Good spot for location”
Good value for money if you're only there for a few days. The bed was a little hard for me and the bathroom could be a bit cleaner. But it was enough for my stay.

SCAM ALERT DO NOT BOOK”
We made our reservation two weeks in advance and paid in advance. When we arrived after flying for two days we were told the hotel was full and we should call agoda. They no room for us even after the booking was confirmed and paid for.

Second extension of my stay.”
I had only planned to stay here for 4 nights. Then I was meant to go stay with a friend. but I miscalculated and would have been checking out in the middle of Songkran, which is a terrible idea unless you like all of your belongings to be absolutely drenched. So, I ended up extending for two more nights... and then another night beyond that. And then staying a night after I came back from Pai before my flight the next day. I will most likely stay here again if I come back to Chiang Mai. Located right at the Chang Puak gate, it is easy enough to walk out to the street and catch a red songtaew for 20 baht to take you Tha Pae Gate or any other place bordering the Old City. There are many distinctive and beautiful temples within walking distance in the area around the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room itself is clean and comfortable. I stayed in a room with a double bed, a wardrobe, TV, and mini fridge. Water is complimentary. There are English movie channels. Hot water shower (in an amply sized bathroom). Air conditioning. The only downsides were that there is a 500 baht key deposit that they don't let you know about ahead of time when you book. You get it back, but giving up 500 baht of your travel money to be held hostage until your trip is finished is never fun. Especially when you aren't expecting it. The other is that there are only 2 power outlets in the room I stayed in. One next to the desk, the other next to the door. Neither of them near the bed, which makes it difficult to use a device that needs charging while it charges. First world problems, anyone? All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel. Unless you are a hard core partier and want to be located near the action. Then you should stay near Tha Pae gate.

Fantastic deal, great location!”
Fantastic deal for the money! Nice big clean rooms, comfortable beds, hot showers, refrigerator and free coffee, 24 hour reception... And all for less than 15 USD per night! Nice quiet and private location down a winding alley next to a Wat, but so near the moat you can walk to Chang Phuak gate in 2 minutes. Good restaurants, temples, nightlife, coffee shops are all literally right around the corner. To top it off, extremely nice staff who seem to really care if you have a good stay. They also borrow out free bicycles sometimes for riding around the Old City. We Love this place!

Friendly staff and good location”
The best part about this hotel is the extremely friendly staff who always greet you with a smile. They helped me book a tour very easily and all spoke good English. The room itself was ok. Good AC, kind of spotty internet. It was clean but there was a long hair on the floor so makes me wonder how much they actually clean it. The bed too was so hard it should have been called a table. Otherwise I can't complain. Nice quiet location within the old city near a monestary so you hear the gong at 4:30 every morning but I kind of liked that.

Convenient and Affordable”
It is not a five star hotel, but it met our expectations. In fact, the relatively soft bed and consistent hot shower more than made up for the room size or any signs of dirt. We liked how convenient it was to get anywhere in the city from the hotel and were very pleased with our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Chiang Mai on a budget and does not plan on spending a large amount of time in their hotel room.

Great location ”
This hotel was in a great location for the.old city. You can walk pretty easily everywhere in the old city. No coffee or breakfast but the room rate was excellent.

Very good stay”
The place is in a quiet area of the old town but still close to attractions, restaurants, convenience stores and food stalls. There are massage spas nearby too. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The price is good value and I have stayed in this property few times and would return with no hesitation.

Pleasant and comfortable stay ”
I had a pleasant stay at Western House. The staff spoke some English and were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in, although the lighting in the room was not as bright as I would have liked. Location of Western House is good - it is within walking distance to many parts of the city.
