Nice cosy place”
For the price we pay, we just need to set our expectations right to enjoy the stay. The location in the heart of where the Malioboro buzz allows you to wander around till late at night. The main drawback is the noisy tourists who wake up at 4 am and knock on each others' door to talk and laugh as if they are still in their kampung. Luckily, this was only for our first night, so it is not too bad. Breakfast is good if you like indo-stuff, but if you must have your western breakfast, there are lots of good cafes nearby.
Near to malioboro street and market”
For those who like to shopping , this hotel highly recomended because near to the market street at malioboro. Also have a good signal for free wifi from hotel up to the room. Got food stall around the hotel. Hotel also clean and staff very helpful. worth for money.
For budget traveller, might be useful but don't expect too much”
The best thing in this hotel is location, near Malioboro Street who sells any souvenir and street hawker food at the night. Just walking distance. The room are big, but it's not so clean, old and need refreshment or refurbish the interior. Amenities just so average. Manual key (not card key), and TV. But it's OK Breakfast is awful. Lack of choice, just rice, fried rice, and some dish, drinks are water, orange juice, coffee or tea. Not so good option for stay, but it's ok in budget. Adequate
Practical Place to Stay”
Good value for money. It is strategically located near the market, restaurants and a small mall. The room had good A/C and a comfortable place to sleep in. For a very cheap price, breakfast is included and not the usual tea, toast and jam. They offered rice, soup, chicken among others. Stayed at the hotel last Aug. 30-Sept. 1, 2014.
We came around 4 am in the morning after spending a long night in the train from Bandung. We managed to find the hotel quiet easily. Reached at the hotel around 4.30 am and we were not able to check in because we were supposed to check in around 2 pm the same day. However, the receptionist was kind enough to let us use the toilet to bath & changed. They have laundry service at reasonable rate too.
A living nightmare when the power was cut fr 6 hrs”
The power supply was cut off on 26th Dec 2013 night for 6 hours. All other hotels on the street had power supply except Marioboro Palace Hotel. Back-up generator did not work, govt supply power did not come on. The hotel manager had to hire a 40 KVA unit at 1am on 27th Dec 2014 into the night. It was chaotic and unpleasant amongst guests demanding a refund when the power did not come back at 12 midnight.
Great location ! Only a few step from Malioboro”
Check in very fast. Room basic enough for only sleep. Room maintenance need improvement a little. The most problem AC was not working. I request TO change room, unfortunately full occupied, they give fan. Please much improve this poin ! A little bit better.
just improve more internet coverage

Very near to the night market”
The facilities are fair enough with the price. Free wifi in every hotel area, from the room to the cafe. Free breakfast with most local menu are served.
Not value of money. Very dirty.”
You may find other better accommodation with this price. The room is dirty with stains, toilet has unpleasant 'moulding-smell', towels with very strong fragrance i guess it is to cover some other smell. Staff unable to communicate and serve well. Extra bed with very thin layer of blanket that is freaking cold at night.
Watch out for "sharks"!”
I will be brief. 1. The location, and the complimentary breakfast are excellent. 2. The price is just right. BUT .... 3. Incident #1 : I was assigned to a room by the person at the front desk and as I walked to the elevator, a female employee who hang out at the bar rushed to me with keys and told me that she might have a better choice of room. Huh?? Curious, I agreed to check out the two rooms. She immediately grabbed my luggage despite of my insistence that I would carry my own luggage. I should take it as a "nice" service except that I had a feeling that something was just off. Anyway, I decided on one room and after I was in my room, she was kind of waiting for me to tip her. I did not because I was not asking for any of her additional "service" in the first place. 4. Incident #2. I had to check out the following morning and it turned out that the street would be closed starting from noon due to a festival. I would check out at 8AM. I asked the front desk to call a taxi and left to my room to get my stuff. When I came down, the receptionist told me that all taxis were unavailable and the streets surrounding the hotel and those leading to the airport were badly congested. Soon, she came up with the solution: I could hire the taxi from the hotel. The so called taxi was not a hotel taxi at all. It was more like a person with a car (unregistered taxi). I would have appreciate the "help" as good service except that everything felt so suspicious. It was not the $8 that the "taxi" driver charged but the whole set up felt like a mafia ring to me. In addition, the roads were clear, no congestion whatsoever. Overall, the hotel was fine for the price. I was not expecting a five-star level. It was the attitude of the employees that gave me a strange feeling. Come prepared, watch out for those sharks and you'll have a good stay.
Ordinary hotel with good location”
There is no something special with hotel service, the room is not yet clean, and a little bit bad bathroom, i just recommend this hotel because many street food that you can taste, and the location is close to Malioboro
everything is standard , standard hotel, standard service, must notice for the room cleanness, the real room is not as nice as the picture in agoda, but location is very easy to find and close to malioboro street is advantages. If the cleanness could be improve , that will upgrade the hotel performance.
Good location but small rooms”
the room is small with no window so we can not get fresh air from outside, but clean. the breakfast is good although they are not various. the parking lot very few so we have to park the car outside the hotel.
Decent rooms and great location”
Location was awesome, very close to many tourist attractions, food, and shopping area. Room was clean and adequate. Avoid the underground rooms because they have almost non-existent GSM service, although the wifi provided helped. The pillows were rather thin so you might want to ask for extras. Restaurant service was great. We came at the last minute of breakfast time and the staff still served us with a smile and attended to us until we're done. Food was pretty good with several options available.
Nice location and clean rooms”
I got in at six in the morning and it was nice that I didn't have to travel far from the train station. The room was nice enough, and clean. And I was glad that breakfast was provided. The breakfast room was nice as well.
Budget hotel at great location”
I was spending 2 nights during the year end festive. this hotel basically having a very great location, in the middle of infamous malioboro strips. Things to be concerned perhaps the quality of the food (breakfast)as well as its quantity. we were run out of our breakfast when we were waking up late. well..basically, this hotel is just OK.
spartan aging rooms”
Good - rooms looking a bit tired and no hanging space.
