Best choice for quiet stay”
Phi Phi is a car free town. Walking is the only mean of transport. Mama Beach is on the quiet corner of the town. 11 min walking to the pier. But is would be too far if your plan is party (30 min walking). The hotel has not pool, but it has a nice big jacuzzi and is located in front of the beach.
Great Hotel for anyone who seek less crowded ambience”
I quite satisfy stay at Mama Beach, the location at the beach also make it favorable and recommend for anyone who seek calm and less crowded stay. And for that of course, it's need a bit walk if you want to find crowd ambience, including night life at phi phi.
Lovely bar next to it right on the beach , nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle . Occasional smell of sewerage was only negative ( don't get room next to restaurant as septic located between it) would recommend :)
Boutique Beach Front Property with Great Service!”
Situated near to the one end of the cove from Ton Sai pier, this 3 storey boutique Mama Beach offers a quaint, peaceful, quiet place for guests. Staff were polite, courteous and helpful all the way. Rooms were clean, a/c was cool and strong, towels nice and clean. Beach towels are provided as well seperately. 32" flat screen TV, bar refrigerator, balcony with chairs overlooking the bay, shower and toilet amenities provided for. Breakfast was included and its a simple delicious western fare but definitely enough to fill your stomach and kick start the day. The good: because it's situated in almost a corner, expect it to be quiet and free from the many tourists that come to Phi Phi for day tours. The beach in front of the property was nice and quiet and waters clear enough for snorkelling or just a swim. Outside the building theres a water hose for you to hose down all the sand from your feet before returning to your rooms. Beachfront massage just next door, a small beachfront bar as well! Offers free luggage transportation services to the pier at 3 different timings so you don't have to lug it around while you go shopping or relax at the beach The flipside: relatively far from the main 'town area' so if you are looking to go there for shopping or food it can be quite a walk. (The hotel restaurant do offer some pretty nice affordable food as well) Lacking a pool (but who needs a pool when the beach is just 100 feet away?) Getting there: Ferry services are available from different piers at Phuket or Krabi. I took mine from Rsassada Pier near Phuket Town. Taxi fare (metered taxi) from Phuket airport to Rassada is about 650 to 700baht. Ferry operate only a few times a day to Ton Sai Pier Phi Phi. Check the pier website for information. Ferry one way = 350baht booked online. Return 700baht. Journey one way ferry approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at Ton Sai pier, there will be various hotel staff waiting to take you to the hotel. Look for the one holding up the
Nice Hotel away from the action”
Nice hotel at the edge of the beach. Its about a 15 minute walk to the pier and to the middle of all of the restaurants and bars there. Its not too far to walk (there are no taxis on the island). The hotel was nice, and has a private beach area with lounges reserved for their guest. The internet was ok and worked good. No complaints. The only weird thing was said before, the bathroom is outside and has a curtain. Flys and mosquitoes make their way in, although it is sprayed quote often. I dont know why they would design it that way to be honest, Its hot as hell to sit on the toilet there. Also their is no hot water, its pretty cold and warm at best. The staff is VERY nice and helpful. I always ate in town and walked back and forth a good 15 min walk each time. Its a little dark at night and some places are not lit up enough, but we made it and felt safe always. I would stay there again. I wish they had a pool, and the bathrooms were different, but regardless I would go back there again. I would recommend it.
We stayed here four nights, it was fantastic and never forgot the view by the resort with a huge cliff nearby and beautiful beach in front of it. Staff are friendly, it would be better if breakfast changes menu everyday.
Perfect location, comfy room and friendly staff”
Really enjoyed our 3 nights with the beautiful view over the beach. Was worried we would only have a view of boats docking at the port but happy to find that it was so much nicer than expected since we are at the end of the beach and looking out towards the opening of the bay. Staff were friendly and made the stay so relaxing and a perfect get-away, far enough from the hustle n bustle of the town area and party goers but only a short walk to enjoy that too.
We enjoyed our second stay at this lovely hotel”
We enjoyed our second stay at this lovely hotel. The location is very good, 10 minutes walking distance from the ferry. Close to the beach, and beatiful view from the balcony. The staff was friendly and helpfulThe room was in hood condition, and did not appear worn down.
Very nice beach front stay !”
A definitely nice place to stay as couple in phuket. The room is very clean and with nice aroma smell, nice sea view too. Quiet location where you can have peaceful sleep. Friendly Staff too. It is located end of the beach, so there is some walking towards the pier and the market place but it is not that far, a small island anyway. :)
Great for a quiet stay on KPP”
Good stay if you want peace and quiet. About 15 minute walk from the party on the island - which is good/bad depending on what you want to do. The beach front is minimal on this side of the island and there are many boats in the harbour which detract from the tranquil feel. But relatively close to the ferry, so easy to get to/from there.
Great value for money, few hiccups”
Perks: 1. Greeted on the jetty by someone from the resort who took our suitcase. They have a free luggage service to and fro 2. Great check-in, were given cold towels and guava juice 3. Very friendly staff, save for the grumpy-looking bar guy 4. Quality pillows and bedsheets and mattress 5. Clean and efficient housekeeping with mozzie spray in the evenings Downsides: 1. Current ongoing construction (only during the day though) 2. Internet on the wifi was barely working, or not working at all (we were informed at check-in that they were servicing the network. But other wifi services in town were working fine) 3. No hot water in our room due to broken/leaking shower mixer (I got a free massage as compensation)
One night stay for diving around Phi Phi island”
Very nice. Hotel's owner adn his staffs were very helpful. We checked out in the morning, went back after diving and asked for taking a bath. He gave us 2 towels and let us the bathrooms at ground floor. That was very nice. Bar at the front of the hotel is very nice and cool. We also love that. The seaview room is adequate and clean, even it is on 3rd floor. we didn't have breakfast, so no comment about that. Overall, we recommend this lovely place to all guests.
Everything was very nice.. A great all staff..but a fiasco female hotel manager..for families with children do not want..very wrong attitude towards us for dinner..does not speak English..the hotel manager was very rude..
Picture perfect view and location!!!”
The location is strategically located and gifted with a stunning view. Privacy is definitely assured. Suitable for couples who just want to be in a quiet area but, not too secluded. Staff are friendly and every willing to assist you with all your request. Amenities is within walking distance. Would highly recommend Mama Beach Residence.
This was my first visit to Pi Pi and I was very glad I chose Mama Beach. It is on the good end of the front away from the piers but a short walk to the bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel rooms are of modern design but still retain a Thai feel to them - (albeit a bit on the small side) but certainly big enough for two. The beach was 20 yards away which was great.
Well run hotel on the quieter part of the beach”
We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay. True to many comments, the hotel is located on the quieter side of the beach which means that you can't hear the partying but it doesn't mean that you can't observe the constant boat traffic arriving at Koh Phi Phi. Rooms were clean and stylish and the breakfast was quite good. The beach was nice although there was a bit of trash that washed up on shore every night. The staff periodically tried to clean up the beach but I assume it's a problem that is not isolated to this hotel. The staff was nice although they made us wait at the ferry for about 30 minutes to wait for all potential customers to arrive, then ran off with everyone's bags to the hotel while leaving everyone walking way far behind. This wasn't a good first impression - we could have just walked to the hotel from the beginning and they could have waited for everyone else to arrive. Anyway, it was a minor but easily fixable thing.
Great location with friendly staff”
Great location! Right on the beach. Only about a 10 minute walk from the pier. The hotel provides free luggage service to and from the pier... breakfast is a bit limited... and the rooms are somewhat dark due to lack of lighting... but the hotel's location is superb!
hotel with a perfect location”
the location for this hotel is perfect for us and not to crowded and very nice to see the sunrise. the only thing we would like to comment is the check-out time which is on 11:00 am and for us is not make sense since the ferry was living from the island on 14:30, then where should we waitting if we are with small children and the hotel staff was not allowed to give us the extra time or late check out.
Highly recommend this place!”
Less than ten minutes walk from the pier & town to the Mama Beach Residence. It's an amazing place with a very clean, a modern rooms and a great service. No matter what room you had, they were all very nice with ocean views and private open air showers. I'm highly recommend this place!
Beautiful Location Away from the Noise of Town”
The Mama Beach Residence is set way off to the side of Ton Sai Bay. If you see pictures of the bay, it's VERY near the giant rock faces on the right as you look at the island from the bay (hope that makes sense.) This is both a good thing and a...well...depends on your point of view. The good thing is that it's very quiet because it's away from the noise of town that can stay pretty loud until the early hours of the morning. The flip side is that it's a good 10 minute (hot!) walk into town if you want to do anything like eat, shop, look around. There's a dedicated swimming area out front where no boats can enter, which is great. The hotel also has a restaurant. Never ate there, though, so can't comment on it, but it looked fine. The staff was helpful and nice. Wi-Fi will cost you 100 baht, but there is no time limit (at least as if this writing). Was there for 4 1/2 days and the 100 baht covered it all, so well worth it. The trouble is that it occasionally goes down. Not the hotel's fault, though, just part of living on an island. You may have to ask the staff to check it out, and they'll call their hub somewhere in town where a button just needs to be reset or something like that. The rooms were nice. One thing I had a problem with was that the light in the bathroom is only controlled by a motion detector. If it didn't detect any movement after 10 seconds the light would go off again. That can be annoying at times...well, pretty much all the time. Still, a nice place in a very cool location. Would stay there again.
