Good Location”
Centrally located, reasonably comfortable, helpful staff
The best thing about this hotel is its location, nearly across the street from the moat that surrounds the palace. For visitors who like to sightsee by foot, this place is ideally located. The Mandalay View Inn allows guests access to the swimming pool at the Hotel by the Red Canal, a very nice hotel that is about 10-minute walk from Mandalay View Inn. Almost next door to the Mandalay View Inn is the Mandalay Marionettes Theater, which has evening performances that are very much worthwhile to attend. The neighborhood around the hotel is an older residential neighborhood, which is pleasant for taking a stroll.

Guest house with Mandalay character.”
Location, beautiful wood detail in guest house and very helpful staff.
This is an excellent guest house to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This converted mansion has amazing carved wood detail on walls and ceiling. Wifi in rooms. You can walk to the Royal palace and wall. Great local restaurants in walking distance.

Great location and great staff”
The location is very good - Royal palace, Kuthodaw etc can be reached within 15-25 mins on foot. The staff was very helpful, nice and friendly. Everything is clean. You can also buy here drinks for the best prices we expierenced during the whole trip across Myanmar (i.e. 1l bottled water was 200 MMK). Theres a bank just next to the hotel and a huge restaurant which is heavilly used by local people = everything is fresh and at very good prices. It was probably one of 2 best hotels/guesthouses etc. where we stayed in Myanmar. There was absolutely nothing to complain about.

Suitable”
Located on the eastern end of the palace which is a little further from the action of the markets/restaurants. About a 10-15 min motorbike ride to the 80s (near railway). Relatively quiet area but just a block down from the palace. For the price, hotel was suitable, no major issues. We had AC and a fridge. Experienced a brown out my first night but quite typical in Myanmar. Just two doors down from an awesome teahouse where we would have breakfast/afternoon tea daily.

Fine place for a short stay”
The room is fine but not too big, bathroom is a bit small. Some street noise enters the room (1st floor). Personnel is really friendly and helpful. Sister hotel at small half hour walk provides bicycles and had nightly taxi arranged. (Take care: no taxis on the street at night; train to Shan leaves at 4 a.m.). Three recommended reataurants and Palace at walking distance. Poppet show next door. No breakfast service but the neighbouring breakfast restaurant has a lot of choice and is a real experience. We stayed three nights and that was fine.

Good location, but limited”
Location, cleanliness, room comfort
This was the second hotel we stayed at in Mandalay, and though it was in a very good location for the Royal Palace, restaurants and bars, there are better around. The hotel is just a converted house, breakfast was very limited (no cooked food on the first morning, not even eggs!), though we did ask for an omelette on the second morning and they did provide. Staff are a little abrupt, and would not even provide bicycles (even though their sister hotel has many just 10 mins away). It was very quiet when we stayed, we didn't see one other guest, though it was low season, but if you like quiet in the city in a good location to cycle around to see the sights, then its okay.

Pleasant enough”
Central location
Pleased with our stay at this hotel, mostly because of its location. Nearly across street from the moat surrounding the walled city, hotel is well located for visitor who would like to walk to the palace (45 minutes by foot to palace, located in center of old walled city) and Mandalay Hill (90 minutes by foot to peak of Mandalay Hill). Mandalay is a a sprawling city, compared to Rangoon. There is a taxi stand directly across the street from the hotel. All taxi fares must be negotiated and agreed upon in advance.

Good location”
central location
Our stay was certainly comfortable enough. Not a high-end hotel, but a very decent hotel that inevitably falls short of international standards (e.g., somewhat weak wifi connection, somewhat weak English language skills), but this goes with the territory. None of the hotel's few shortcomings would keep me from recommending it to anyone else.

A Quiet Oasis In The Heart of the City”
Friendly staff, good location, great breakfast
This hotel was very good value. A special thank you to "Baba" who went out of her way to make our stay a memorable one - she took part of her day to guide us around the city! Close to very good restaurants. The breakfast was very, very good with a selection of a la carte dishes and fresh bread and fruit.

Small and modest hotel in the heart of the city”
Location within walking distance of some good restaurants, friendly and helpful staff, quiet
We spent one nite here and left very early to catch a plane. Staff packed a nice breakfast box for us to take in the taxi. Our room was small but adequate and the beds were quite comfortable. Good restaurants were within a couple of blocks and an easy walk. We stayed at 3 different hotels in Mandalay and would go back to this one next time. It is small and modest, but very pleasant.

Close to the Mandalay Palace”
Proximity to Mandalay Palace
The hotel was a walking distance to the Mandalay Palace and there are also restaurants and coffee shops within the area. I really appreciate that they already let me check-in when I arrived at around 4am coming from Bagan, other hotels would have required me to pay for the previous night's stay. Free breakfast could have been better if there was rice.

Superb small hotel in central Mandalay”
Central location near to the old citadel, relatively cheap, but clean and quiet
Only there a short time, but the service from the staff was great. The hotel is small, but in a good place to walk into the old citadel, or back to town. Lots of things to do in Mandalay and around and the staff could help with bookings with ease.

Right in the centre, food options next door, nice design, early breakfast
Nice lovely cosy and very comfortable boutique hotel. Right in the centre, food outlets with traditional food just next door. Nice decoration in old colonial style, carved teak wood. Convenient early breakfast at 5 30a, for an early start. Nice home atmosphere/ Only positive impression- nothing wrong to say at all/

Pleasant small hotel at good location”
Clean and quiet
The airport is almost 60 km from the city centre; therefore you have to allow for time to get back to catch your flight. Hotel prices in Myanmar are higher than in other places of SE Asia. For the price the hotel was clean, nice personnel and decent breakfast.

Friendly staff
hotel is located at the se corner of the palace. a taxi journey from down-town the rooms are fairly basic but acceptable. staff are helpful breakfast is ok, actually i quite liked it.. eggs anyway you want them, juice, nice coffee, toast, jam etc. overall i think the hotel is expensive for what is provided... but i have not been to other hotels in mandalay and so my thoughts are without comparision. oh, and i did have a nice chat with "charles the cockroach" who i found in my bathroom!

A room without a view”
Location was convienent
The Mandalay View Hotel appeared promising, but our room had neither view nor window. Fortunately we were so busy with sightseeing that we spent very little time actually in the room, so this was not ultimatly a problem for us. However, with a hotel named Mandalay View, our expectation was to have some sort of view from our room. Overall the hotel is pretty basic, but as mentioned, we were not at the hotel much.

Price, use of pool and facilities at Sister hotel
i was a little sceptical about this hotel after reviews mentioned the bathrooms were showing signs of wear. this is true and i expected this to mean the rooms and rest of hotel would be similar. however, this isn't the case and the hotel rooms are actually very nice and clean. for mandalay this hotels is great value. even better you can use pool and facilities at hotel by the red canal which is 15 minutes walk away.
