The Mandarin Hotel managed by Centre Point is worthy of its four star rating, unlike a lot of other hotels in SE Asia. The price was very affordable and much cheaper than other hotels in its class with comparable locations. Only one major problem with the hotel: on check-in day, the reception gave me keys to a room already booked and the other people's belongings were still there when I arrived. The limited English of the bellhop meant that I had to go all the way back to the front desk to get things (quickly) fixed. Lastly, and this is probably true for all hotels in Bangkok, DO NOT use the taxi/tok-tok service that hangs out right outside the hotel. Their prices are extortion rates, and they will stop en route to demand more money, citing traffic or making up any excuse about "protests causing problems." Instead, walk down the street towards MRT Sam Yan station or the other direction and insist on a metered taxi. It will always be less than half of the rate the tout-taxis will give you.
Our stay at Mandarin Hotel managed by centre-point was really nice. The staff were very helpful and understand english very well. The room service was very fast. The restaurant at the lobby was expensive but you can still eat form outside which is cheaper. The hotel is built beautifully. They are undergoing some nearby construction but it didn't disturb us at all. The bathroom and the room are very clean and nice. The bathroom has a special washing system that visitors will enjoy. The spa atomsphere is very nice and the staff are extremely friendly. there is a smoking room at the ground floor of the hotel. The taxi was good, spoke english. All the staff at the lobby area and the cleaning staff are very respectful, friendly and did their job professionally. It is the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to Thailand for three days.
A rare find.”
We stayed at Mandarin Hotel from 05 to 08 August 2015 and our first time in this hotel. Been to Bangkok for many years and stayed in many hotels of different Stars and areas (Siam,Sukhumvit,Silom,Riverside,Yaowarat) There were good points and bad points, since we love Bangkok and come annually for Praying Prilgimages, massages and foods, we sort of live with it and never complained. MH beside well run, excellent staff service, good facilities and location, is a bargain and without doubt a value for money. I only hope that this hotel will go on maintaining and progress, certainly hope it will not like many BKK hotels laxed and deteriate. We will sure come back and find out.
Mandarin Hotel managed by Centre Point”
I loved my stay in Mandarin Hotel Managed my Centre Point. Although people might get confused with Mandarin Hotel managed by Centre Point and Mandarin Oriental so better be careful giving instructions to you tour guides or taxi drivers, direction to the Hotel. So We also checked out early since our flight was at night and we had a scheduled tour on that day, thus, not needing the room anymore, and what I loved about the hotel is even though we checked out already, we were still given the benefit to use the Gym shower room to freshin up after an exhausting tour and ready to go to the airport, fresh and clean. Staff were so friendly, breakfast was lovely, rooms wer clean and comfortable, and value for money is great. I'd definitely come back to checkin at this hotel when we come back to Thailand. I recommend this hotel..:)
A Renovated Hotel With All the Modern Touches”
It was nice to see the Mandarin Hotel (once in its prime in the 60's) totally remodeled and re-designed. The disappointment to some is that its sterile white interior could be of any modern hotel found in Hong Kong or Singapore. Wish there were some traditional Thai design touches applied-- but the hospitality and friendliness is still Thai. A big mistake in the new renovation was using huge glass windows between the check-in lobby and the swimming pool. (People do not like to be on display when laying around the pool, do they?) The gym has some high quality machiines (including free weights) but it would be more "pefect" if it had an univeral gym machine included. It is an interesting walk to Silom street (15-20 minutes)where there is an old traditional Chinese temple, Indian temple, and then a traditional Thai temple. At night if one want to take a taxi from Silom, it runs around 70-50 baht, depending on your location. There is a new shopping/office area across the street for restaurants also. Unfortunately there is a busy expressway dividing the otherside of the street...you can take a pedestrian bridge one block away or run across the streets to get to the shopping mall.
Good value. Outstanding staff”
I have stayed at the Mandarin Managed by Centre Point on two occasions. It is good 4-star value, but the outstanding feature for me was the attitude of the staff. From the bell boy at the entrance, to reception, cleaners and managers, there was always a welcoming smile with the right mix of formality and informality. All made genuine attempts to help when necessary and make that little extra difference compared with many other hotels. I will go back.
A good hotel with good value”
It was pleasant stay in Mandarin Hotel Managed by Centre Point. Great breakfast and room service. Friendly staff. Rooms for improvement: No easy access to the lobby from the main entrance. Staircase is the only access, it was difficult for a family who travel with strollers and luggage bag.
Best hotel in bangkok in this price”
A very good stay at Mandarin Hotel. We would stay at this hotel anytime if we can get same offer. Although we believe it was just a promotion, so we got good price, but the hotel deserves better cost. Plus points: + Best location, as its in middle of city + Very new infrastructure with all new tools in the room + Very clean + Good facilities + Good price and not expensive + Good massage center inside hotel: Relax spa + Good staff + Breakfast buffet was very good and had lots of items to try Negative points: - No negative points for this price :)
Great location, nice hotel”
Nice stay, I have prorogate my stay for 3 weeks (4 weeks last year). The location is great because central if you want to go to China Town or Chao Praya river and visit King palace and various temples, near Sam Yan MRT station (metro) direct to go to chatuchak market the weekend, near the bus station direct to go to MBK, Siam Paragon, near Patpong, near Silom road... Hotel lobby in marble is very nice. Staff is helpful but at the guests service at the hotel door, 1 on 2 does not know what is to do in Bangkok or where the tourists attractions are located, so check carefully that they give the right adress to your taxi driver otherwise you will get lost with your taxi. 1 taxi on 2 does not know Bangkok and does not speak English!!! So check carefully that your taxi driver knows where he goes, otherwise do not hesitate to change of cab! The weak point of this hotel is the swimming pool: because it is stuck between 2 towers (30 floors height) the sun arrives only between noon and 4:00 PM, otherwise shadow everywhere. Also at the moment I am writing my review, the tower touching the side of the swimming pool (15 meters far only!) is still in construction, so many little stones are falling either in the swimming pool or even on your head when you are laid on the chair !!! It is also very noisy. The hotel is clean and the rooms as well. Food is fine, and the breakfast buffet in asian food gets a large variety. But after a few days you will notice that it is always the same. The spa inside the hotel looks nice, but I did not tried it because it is 20% more expensive than spa outside. The restaurant is nice but all in white marble it is little cold. Due to the weak point of the swimming pool and because the swimming pool is an important part of the choice of an hotel in a warm country I think that the room pricing is a little overpriced.
Nice hotel but rooms are not well designed”
Stay in Mandarin Hotel by Center Point for 4 nights. Location wise, it is very convenient. Staffs are very friendly. Lobby looks nice but the room is not well designed since bathroom is really small. No counter space so you can't even keep your toiletries. My friend in Bangkok told me that the hotel was just renovated last year. So it is rather new. But I really hope they can have better design of the room layout.
Very nice hotel and relaxing.”
Our stay at the Mandarin Hotel Managed by Centre Point was EXCELLENT! The ambience is very nice and the hotel as a whole is so WONDERDFUL and the HOTEL STAFF are WELL TRAINED,POLITE AND COURTEOUS!!!
Good and comfortable”
The management should continue the effort to train the staff for consistency. The hotel should also equip with own shuttle bus or tut tut for the customers to go around city. Three days in Mandain hotel and we are lucky to be there on the official opening ceremony of the hotel. The price is reasonable cheap for such new hotel and suitable for business travelers and also family. I would consider to come again and recommend Mandarin Hotel to friends and family. We hope the good services will be maintained. And improved. The management should consider serving fruits or welcome juice to customers in the room like some of other hotels do.
The Mandarin hotel is really classy. Elegant, nice interiors, attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Probably the best wifi I found during my trip in Asia. I didn't use the swimming pool, but it looked very good. The massage centre is really good as well. As soon as you get inside the hall, you find relief from Bangkok's hot, traffic and confusion. The room was very nice: with large tables, fridge and a microwave, which is really helpful, if you get takeaway food, for example. I really enjoyed the bathroom and the funny small computer for intimate hygiene. Definitely a recommended hotel: the best I stayed at in Bangkok.
Excellent hotel at a great price”
The Mandarin has been completely refurbished and is a beautiful hotel. The room was large. clean and well decorated with a large screen television and a comfortable bed. The staff was polite and efficient and the breakfast buffet is quite good and worth the extra cost. The hotel is a short walk to the Silom nightlife area. They have adequate free parking and the Mandarin is an excellent value for the money. Great place to stay in Bangkok
Very Good Stay in Mandarin...”
I had a 4D3N stay at Mandarin Hotel (by Centre Point) and it's marvellous. The breakfast spread is good, the service staff is excellent. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Location is near Sam Yan MRT and just 5-10mins tuk-tuk/cab ride to Siam area. My only complain is the weak Wifi signal in the room.
Hassle free and very enjoyable experience”
We travelled as a couple to Bangkok for our vacation and staying at Mandarin Hotel made all the difference. Enjoyed the close proximity of the hotel to public transport routes and also the hotel was very new. The gym equipment were mostly brand new and the swimming pool well-maintained. There were also special discounts for hotel residents at the independent luxurious spa/massage service within the hotel. We booked our stay complete with inclusive breakfast and the wide spread of international food buffet made it a value-for-money deal. Highly recommended.
Fantastic hotel with excellent customer service ”
I couldn't fault this hotel. Although it was a bit out of the way, the staff at the mandarin made me feel very welcome! The staff are so humble and sincere...I'm a frequent traveller and I go all over the world. My trip to Bangkok was a last minute decision made in India, where we were staying. We cut out holiday short in India to travel to Bangkok, we were staying at the taj Palace Mumbai (indias finest) the mandarin hotel was almost as good! It is the cheapest hotel I ever stayed in, but felt as if it was worth ten folds. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. To the American speaking gentleman at the counter (sorry bad with names) "thank you for your hospitality"
very enjoyable, love the design and cleaningness”
The good thing is that the hotel has a very luxury clean design with nice odor. The gym is well equipped. The swimming pool is quite with half way full of sun. The location is close to metro and one of the famous pagoda in Bangkok. There are some other bad things which are the room is quite small with small window and the view isn't nice since this hotel isn't very high. It takes you 15 min walking to Silom night market. The pool is quite small and not so deep. The bed isn't really comfortable. The bathroom is quite small with no bath. Overall if you come with a friend and share the price in agoda, it is a very good deal. If you come alone , it is just an ok price.
I had an excellent stay at The Mandarin and would highly recommend it. The hotel is very clean, modern and comfortable. The hotel is in a good location walking distance to transport and the MBK shopping centre. The staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful also. The only negative I would say is the gym was lacking in size and equipment but that is a minor flaw. I will definitely come back to stay at The Mandarin next time in Bangkok

We are most delighted to read that you had a pleasant stay with us and that you found our staff friendly and helpful. We are very glad to learn that you have an intention of staying with us again. Your wonderful comments are greatly appreciated. More than just 4*”
The front desk personnel were of great help. They have great patience to explain and provide directions to some tourist attractions. The conceirge is of great help as well because if you need a taxi, you can make a request from them and there will be staff outside to help flag meter taxis for you and taxis that do not run by meter are not allowed to drive to outside the lobby.Besides, the room or rather the hotel as a whole is really clean and pleasant. Sam Yan subway is just about 10 mins walk from the hotel and it is convenient to go to places like Chatuchak and some malls. The hotel is also a walkable distance from MBK shopping mall and some other upper end malls. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Mandarin Hotel and will recommend this hotel to others! Given the chance, we will be back to this hotel because it's worth the stay! ;)
