A good budget place to stay in Polonaruwa
Rooms are basic but ok, not too noisy. Bathroom wasn't clean (by the look of it, it's been a while!). Location was perfect, close to the ruins. Staff was really nice and helpful. You can rent some bikes for 600Rps. Breakfast is ok (toasts, omelette with way too much salt, fruits). Perfect for one night!

Warm, friendly & surrounded by rice farms
The staff at Manel were most welcoming from the moment we arrived. This is a family run guest house with large, clean rooms. As a family of four we had two rooms. Nothing was ever too much for the staff. They booked us on a fantastic, well priced safari on which we saw hundreds of elephants. Our driver was respectful of the animals. It was a super afternoon. We had breakfast each day at Manel and it was yummy and fresh making the most of the local produce. They also happily booked us a driver to our next destination (Nilaveli).

Great Value
Great location, great value. Staff is very nice and helpful. The restaurant food is delicious and not much more expensive than the surrounding places. A shortish walk (maybe 30 min) or a 2 minute tuk tuk gets you right into ruins, same for the main town. Wonderful view of rice fields from the back of the place.

Good value for money
Had a nice stay here for one night. Room clean, very basic. Wifi only in the restaurant area, not in your room. Staff helpful, and good breakfast included in price.

Good
Rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Good food for dinner. People came and ate at the hotel who weren't staying there so the food must have been a favourite. Stayed here to get to the elephant Safari. We got external advice from people around appropriate cost for a Safari. Staff at this hotel organised a Safari and it was at a good reasonable cost.
