Fantastic. exceptionally clean and tidy with great facilities”
The Mantra Sharks was extremely clean, tide and exactly what I need at the time There is not much around it as it is in a lovely suburb of gold coast. It is very close to the hospital and of course the Sharks club and playing ground. With this in mind it is very quiet. There is an abundance of parking underneath the hotel. There is an associated club with a restaurant and bar included. If you are from out of state keep in mind everything in Queensland shuts around 8:30 pm As mentioned earlier, just down the road is a village of Chirn Park with has a plethora cafes and restaurants. You could be forgiven for thinking the hotel was brand new as the room I stayed in was spotless. Highly recommend this to anyone.
Perfect for me.”
Check-in, and check-out was very easy, and the receptionists were lovely. The room was small, but is perfect for one person. The bed was really comfortable, and having just recently opened, everything was sparkling. Southport Sharks is right next door, and the meals are great. It’s away from the hustle & bustle that is the Gold Coast. I’ll definitely return, I’ve already booked for later in the year.
We chose the Mantra at Sharks due to its close proximity to the GCPH. It’s a nice fresh new place, rooms are small and there is no balcony but otherwise it was nice. Not the place if you’re a smoker and prefer a place with a balcony. Staying at Sharks got us entry into the big sporting club within walking distance which was fantastic. Thanks Sharks!
Two parts review (good & bad) read both”
The down side: 1. This hotel is beside & opposite Southport cemetery, perhaps that’s why it’s cheaper but don’t worry, I think it’s a Christian cemetery, we walked pass a few times at night to the tram station from Hotel , pass the cemetery, nothing happen and pretty peaceful. Nothing to be afraid about ok, 2. Though it’s beside a cemetery, some Superstitious people may say it’s haunted the hotel but the hotel isn’t haunted at all, the hotel was surprisingly peaceful, no spooky experience. 3. The walking distance from tram station (Gold Coast university hospital) tram station is a abit 10 minutes walk from hotel To tram or tram to hotel, the walkway can be dark as sunset in Australia is pretty early so it can be dark and walking by the cemetery but two persons are alright. 4. Not a lot food places around, only have red rooster, subway, Japan restaurant, si chuan restaurant, opposite the hotel 5. Fire alarm went off, 625 am and all the people evacuated the building, in the middle of our sleep n announcement made later is false alarm 6. Morning call service requested but no morning call service actually 7. Only Car park is dim since we wash clothes at night so one person going down can b scary, spooky, two persons is alright 8. Food is costly $22-$36 for mains & in room dining but expected rate 9. Agoda picture studio king suite shows there is microwave but then there’s no microwave, hence picture doesn’t match so take note! 10. Doesn’t provide home slipper for the floor ;) walking 11. Overheard late check out after 10 am is additional charge! No delay no grace period so check out must be ON TIME! Guys 12. Rooftop bar KARAOKE can be noisy and can hear them but they cut off by 10 pm so it’s alright!!! Overall, very good & well stayed! Yes I would come again! Try room 325 & 326! It’s good and excellent !
I stayed at Mantra at Sharks to compete in the Gold Coast Marathon and could not have asked for a better location!
Brand new, convenient location (away from Surfers!)”
Great option to stay when visiting our friends on the Gold Coast so we don't have to go anywhere near Surfers Paradise. Room big enough and comfortable for a couple, and had all the amenities we needed (hairdryer, iron&board, kettle etc etc). Great food and drinks at Sharks, and a service station across the road is handy. Also has undercover parking. We found the room quiet (considering the venue it is next to). Love that we can stay the Saturday night only and not have to stay min two nights. And it was good value for money. Will definitely be staying again as we are at the Gold Coast often.
Handy to the Gold Coast Private Hospital ”
All staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was modern, clean and comfortable. The club next door is where you can get breakfast etc and I think you get a discount for the food venue in the club. I was a solo traveller so did not want to go to the club on my own but they have an amazing rooftop bar which I felt comfortable in going to on my own for some dinner and drinks. Handmade pizza from an italian pizza chef was amazing and the service and atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. I was there for work one day and I was having surgery the next day at the Gold Coast Private Hospital which is within walking distance but I had luggage so I got an Uber. Very convenient if utilising the hospital or need family to stay close by.
Loved the aviary rooftop bar, the cabanas overlooking the pitch and the health club. The hotel itself is 800m from the G line tram service, which gets you to Surfers Paradise in 20 minutes, should you want to visit. It’s well located for the Gold Coast hospital and Griffith University. Great check in process, comfy bed, good facilities in the room. All round good stay.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was super comfortable whilst we had a family member in the nearby hospital. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location is A1 if you need to be at the Gold Coast Uni hospital or if you are looking for easy access to the Gold Coast light rail.
The hotel is very close to Harbour Mall which is the most famous shopping mall in Gold Coast. You can find a lot of outlets there with cheaper price than Sydney. The hotel is new and with free parking. If you plan to rental a car, it will be wonderful staying here.
We found Mantra at Sharks very comfortable & clean & the staff were all very friendly. Convenient location close to University Hospital. Rooms were quiet & we were able 2 get a good nights sleep.
Amazing stay Mantra at Sharks ”
We stayed 2night at Mantra at Sharks. Room is clean, stylish, great location, staff are friendly. We’d love to come back to stay there.
Excellent atmosphere ”
I only stayed one night but very good time at mantra sharks. Brand new building with very friendly staffs. Definitely going back later!
Located a short walk from the Gold Coast university Hospital”
Having an appointment at the hospital The Mantra was a great place to stay and having the Sharks Club next door was a great bonus.
Not up to standard!”
Due to go into surgery the following morning so stayed at the mantra because of its location. Newly built, but so many issues! We never had hot water to shower the morning I was to have surgery- and I was supposed to shower that morning, and only one towel in the room!
Perfect design, functional and clean”
This hotel is lovely, everything was exactly what I expected from Mantra and the price was amazing. Plus free drinks and breakfast. Stay here if you're looking for something that works and smells nice too.
Clean, well decorated and lovely place to stay”
The hotel upgraded us to their biggest room when they knew we were on a honeymoon. The room was not very big but was clean and well equipped with socket points, microwave, refrigerator, sink etc. The interior was modern and cosy. Even though my wife was uncomfortable that it was beside a cemetary, everything was actually fine. The vicinity was quiet and peaceful. Place was not near the main area but Surfer's Paradise was a 20min drive away. Pros: - clean and well decorated room - peaceful and quiet vicinity - well equipped room - value for money Cons - not near main areas of entertainment
Great stay at the Mantra. Fantastic facilities. Great place to stay if you want to relax and not have to drive anywhere. Mini bar, room service, the club and its variety of dining options, conference facilities, great staff, who could ask for more.... loved it.!!! There is an atmosphere for each individual.
This hotel is really nice, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is next to a casino/club and you can use the facilities as a guest of the hotel, parking is also included.
It would be great if Mantra at Sharks had a games room for guests
