Conveniently located in Hobart's central business district, Mantra Collins Hotel is a boutique hotel just 250 meters from the notable Hobart waterfront and Salamanca Place. You will enjoy terrific views of Mount Wellington over Hobart and the Queen's Domain throughout your stay. All windows are double glazed so all the rooms are perfectly quiet. Guestrooms are contemporarily furnished with modern facilities. Friendly staff and professional services are what you can expect from here. You can easily relax and sit back in the comfortable guest lounge or get some drinks at the cozy Collins Restaurant. Mantra Collins Hotel is definitely a perfect choice for both leisure and business travelers.

Lovely staff welcomed us to this well located hotel, within walking distance of best sites. We loved our two room apartment for comfort, cleanliness and quiet. Although we didn’t have a harbour view, our TV was cleverly connected to a rooftop camera, so day or night we could watch the harbour, or the alternative Mt Wellington view. Fresh apples on the front desk was a nice touch, as was the staff newsletter with their own recommended cafes, restaurants, pubs and places of interest. This all added up to a warm welcome.
good but construction nearby”
the building is interesting, it used to be a morgue. its across the street from medical school and hospital, and they are building a big extension there so you can see 3 cranes and it can be noisy in the AM, so if you dont want to get up early, wait till the construction is done to stay here. but right in heart of hobart.
From the moment we arrived, excellent friendly and polite reception, also very helpful. The room was very well presented and VVV clean. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept on for some time (outside of our own of course). The central location was a bonus, hence we walked everywhere we wanted to go, including the reason we were down in Hobart which was to attend a show at the Theatre Royal, bit over 100 metres around the corner. If one wanted to try very hard to be negative, the only thing this hotel would be improved by would be a slip-lane or driveway for checking in. The carpark nearby was convenient but just that first 10 minutes to check in, had to ask for some change for damn parking metres. Also, whilst we were very happy with the room for one night, at the cost of it, would be much more comfortable if the rooms were just a bit bigger, space is at a premium. But thanks, apart from going elsewhere just for new experiences, we would use the Mantra again.
Pretty good stay.”
Great place to stay for 5 nights. We spent most of our time at the bars and restaurants in Salamanca Square and it was an easy walk to and from. Nice and clean run of the mill hotel, and compared to places like Melbourne and Sydney, pretty good value.
Great hotel with quality staff”
Staff are good. Near to the pier & the good restaurants (around 5-10 mins walk only). Salamanca Place is also 10 mins walk. It's famous, so day tour coach would pick up & drop right outside the hotel. Though not too many facilities (don't expect it's Macau-style hotels), I would recommend friends to choose this hotel if they go to Hobart.
Good Location and Nice room”
The hotel is really nice, the room is clean and spacious. The food is restaurant is delicious. Free wifi provided is excellent. What's more is that they provide computer and printing service and laundry service which is convenient for us who have already traveled for a week.
good location and nice room”
The location is good, walking distance to the port, supermarket nearby, public car park next to it. The food in restaurant is nice. Free wifi, computer and printing service provided. Good to have laundry facilities. Staff are all very helpful.
" Good Location"”
the hotel is situated in the central of Hobart and you can easily access to many tourists attractions in Hobart. Hotel staffs are generally friendly and helpful. The room is neat and tidy. It is definitely a good choice if what you ask for is convenience.
Clean and comfortable”
The hotel is a little small , but like the other hotels under the chain , hotel Charles , it is very comfortable and pleasant . Hotel staff are very friendly . Con is it does not have car park , but it does have a Tie up with a nearby parking storey
Great hotel in CBD”
I have stayed at this hotel three times now with my husband since the hotels opening. Every stay has been great, the staff are friendly and the rooms are very well maintained and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hobart.
Great location, easy to walk everywhere
I am writing to complain Agoda. I booked a suite with kitchen provided. I have compare all the room type in Agoda before I make my final decision. I travelled with my baby boy and I need to cook for him during whole journey. I choose this hotel and this suite is because they have a kitchen. However, when I arrived the hotel, they told me that the room type that I booked was not include a kitchen! I showed them my booking and the pictures of the room on Agoda ... they told me that Agoda made a mistake! They showed the wrong pictures of this room type on Agoda web. I think Agoda was misleading me to book this room type. I request a refund on this stay. Hotel is welcome to clarify for me as well. looking forward to hearing you. Agoda’s quick response would be appreciated. Thanks!
Good location close to the piers & Sat market”
Staff got confused ! Gave us twice wrong keys which rooms were occupied.
Great location for a reasonable price.”
The proximity of this hotel to the action on the waterfront and the shopping district is second to none. The rooms are small but adequate, the breakfast awesome. For the price, this is a great hotel.
'Neat & tidy - room wasn't large, but location was important to us & that was great
Nice place and very friendly and helpful staff”
This place was perfect for what I needed for few days .The reception staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
Great location close to the heart to Hobart”
Great experience at the Mantra on Collins , conveniently located in the Heart of hobart city within close proximity to the salamanca pier, shopping and local bars. Will return again
A little disappointing”
Great location and friendly desk staff, however, I have a dairy allergy and basically could not eat anything on the breakfast menu. When this was informed to the staff/chef I was met with shrugs. There was no alternate offered - as is the norm - merely some poached fruit... which was quite disappointing...
Warm, friendly service. Delicious breakfast.”
Staff that we met at the reception, house-keeping and restaurant were all friendly, warm and helpful. Payge at the reception offered us information on where to eat, park our car etc and followed up the next day on how our day had been. The ala-carte breakfast was filling, healthy and delicious. We stayed in a superior queen room- the first one we had had a sea view, but with an open deck carpark between the room n the sea view. We couldn't open the curtains to enjoy the view without compromising on our privacy. They allowed us to change rooms on the second night when we requested for a room with a bathtub. It was bigger and also had a city view which we could enjoy. - The rooms and bedsheets were clean with basic toiletries, ironing board, hair dryer all provided. No frills hotel. Warm hospitality, good food, good value for money. Just ensure that room with sea view doesn't also include the carpark view if you value privacy😀
The hotel is central to everything. The room is fine, just what you need for a weekend of exploring. The location is close to everything you need and is about a 5 minute walk to the Pier. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable on local attractions. I would stay again
