Relaxing Haven”

Clean, modern and pleasing design. Comfortably sized and smart rooms. Attentive and helpful staff.
Design of bathroom is innovative and pleasing but shower leaks out but was fixed by staff when reported. Need to be watchful when showering.Location is farther out north and requires a 15 minute walk to subway which is rough at the end of a hard touring day.

Marco Polo Parkside became a haven of rest for my husband and I on a hectic week of touring Beijing. It was reliably clean and tidy place with comfortably firm beds, slippers, bathrobes and even an umbrella! The staff helped us with directions, taxis and places to visit with our personal needs. The lobby was attractive and had a grand design. There was a cafe and breakfast provided western as well as Asian food. It was good and comparable to the breakfast we had at the cruise ship from which we had disembarked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel for its price-quality-service delivery of hospitality and comfort in a foreign place. We booked the hotel through the internet and got a reasonably good price for it.

lovely hotel”

room and bathroom

we moved into the room and were immediately taken with the bathroom and its walk in shower and large bath but the feature of the huge window looking into the bathroom was a knockout. it is possible to close a curtain to preserve some privacy so decorum is maintained. the staff are very friendly and most speak some english and will always address you in english. the marco polo restaurant offers a good breakfast for both chinese and western tastes and the evening buffet caters for all ethnic groups. the first night we were there they had a superb choir singing christmas carols in english, this included a group of chinese children between 8 and 10 singing in english. amazing!

Great location for those who are sporty!”

Quiet surroundings, friendly staff, clean

Overall was normal as I intend to attend a tennis tournament which was just a few kms away from the hotel. As such it is pretty quiet since it is near to the swimming complex, tennis stadium etc. However, you may need to travel a little if you wish to have go to more hustle and bustle areas. 1 thing to note is that the taxi drivers may not know what is Marco Polo Parkside, so you maybe need to know the exact address before you board the taxi...

A little out of the way but pleasant”

Reasonable price, comfortable room

I spent two nights here in July. The hotel location is a bit out of the way from central Beijing, near the Olympic Park area in the north. However, this was not really an issue--it's about a 20 minute taxi ride from central Beijing and costs less than US $10. Considering that you'd pay double for a similar hotel downtown, I think it's a great deal. The staff were friendly and we had no issues. The room was very comfortable. Beware that the room only includes breakfast for one person, regardless of whether two people stay. Breakfast was pretty good, for China, but not spectacular by any means, especially the Western selections. Would stay again next time I'm in Beijing and want a little luxury at a reasonable price.

Great Stay in Marco Polo Parkside Hotel, Beijing”

The location is excellent, is only 5 minutes walk to the MRT, surrounded by many great eating places within minutes walk, such as famous Beijing Roast Duck, "Quanjude", Stream boat restaurant, "Hai Di Lao", "Dong Lai Shun" etc. and many other small shops. If you want to eat western food, there is a 24 hours Mcdonald outlet just opposite the hotel, and a Pizza outlet. Best of all, the Hotel café offers Buffet dinner at around Sin $40 per pax, but this price is applicable for hotel guest, if you walk in the price will be aound Sin $65 per pax, the spread is supper good, which includes fresh abalone, oyster, scallop, big prawn, individual hot pot will be provided, with various kind of soup base for you to choose, when you pick up the hotpot ingredients, chief cooking Teppanyaki food on the spot, supper yummy Beijing Roast Duck, also comes with a Indian food session, cooked food side includes chilly crabs too. Free flow of bottle fruits juice, beer, various kind of cakes and jelly, ice-cream choices are good too. Hot beverages includes coffee and tea, they provided all kinds of coffee, such as Espreso, cappuccino etc. It is really value for the money. Strongly recommend to try their Buffet.

Outstanding rooms, first class service, great value

Our stay was a "layover" day in Brijing. Wanted to be reasonably close to the airport but also able to spend some time sightseeing. The Beijing Olympic facilites are a short walk from the hotel and provided a pleasant morning adventure. The hotel is first class. Good value for a 5-star hotel by the Olympic village near the northern part of Beijing (off 4th ring). The hotel is good choice for business traveler, but may not be the best location for tourists who want to do a lot of sight scenes. Nice swiming pool and it opens from 6:30am. Facilities are clean and well seviced. Foods are good.

It is located in a well developed commercial center near Olimpic Center in Beijing. The area is full of restaurants, shopping centers, and bus stations. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Best thing I like is the swimming pool. Water is clean and temperature is good. It opens everyday at 6:30am. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, although it is a bit on the expensive side.

new hotel, excellent breakfast, beautiful interior, super comfortable rooms

very good hotel, had a very comfortable stay. just that location is quite bad, its one hr from city center or tiananmen square. but this is in the olympic village so u can go to the olympic stadium. the officers at the hotel cannot speak in english, also they aren't very proactive to help. we had breakfast included in our room booking but the hotel was denying it and asked us to check with agoda! we had to scold them that they should be the ones to settle this not us. so in that department we had a bit of a problem. but finally after making us wait for an hour they confirmed breakfast was indeed included. apart from that the hotel itself was very good, very comfortable, rooms had great interior.

Ok, but staff wasn't well trained”

clean, friendly and large

The Marco Polo was fine as a hotel, but it had a few problems that made my stay there less than optimal. 1) The staff, while very friendly, was not well trained and unable to handle any questions that were not very basic. I don't believe this was a language issue, it was simply that the staff was not trained to think for themselves. 2) Getting taxis was difficult from the hotel, although I gather this is an issue across Beijing as a whole now. 3) The hotel is not really close enough to the Convention Center to be a viable alternative to the Convention Center hotel or the Intercon. It was too far away to walk and if you wanted to travel during rush hours or if it was raining, you could expect 20-30 min waiting times for a taxi. However, I found the staff unfailingly polite and cheerful - and that made up for a lot of the other issues.

A really good location for the concert because we rather walk back then joining the crowds for public transportation after. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Just a few mins walk to the subway station. Staff were very nice and helpful. For a first timer in Beijing, I really enjoyed my few days there and would love to go back.

Classy hotel in a nice area of the city”

The area, the gym and the staff

Really nice hotel with easy access to most of the sights in town (they even had their own custom map with all attractions described in both English and Chinese). Nice breakfast aswell. We didn't have WiFi in our room at first but they fixed it for us easily upon requesting it, which is a huge plus in itself. Staff wasn't that good at English in general but there was always someone that could speak it so it didn't cause any problems. Really recommended this hotel if you're going to Beijing.

Very Good Hotel near Beijing Olympic Park”

Good food, good service, good decor.

it takes about30 minutes from the airport to this hotel and costs about rmb. the hotel is a 4-5 star upmarket hotel with room card security for the lifts, very nice decor, efficient reception and staff and located about 10 minutes drive from the beijing olympic park (birdsnest stadium). the room is quite large and a special feature was the wall between the bedroom and the bathroom was see through glass. there was an electric blind that could provide privacy if needed. a good sized walk in shower and a large deep oval bath were very good and i enjoyed soaking in the bath whilst watching tv through the glass wall. the beds and pillows were comfortable and the room had the usual free tea and coffee and a safety box. the tv had international news and many channels. the only slight surprise was that the windows were not double glazed so there was a little traffic noise. the hotel is located at the junction to two major 3 lane roads and most of the buildings nearby are large modern office blocks. accross the road is a mcdonalds and several upmarket chinese restaurants including a branch of the most famous peking duck restaurant. i did not see any supermarket or mini mart nearby.

Nice hoytel, niec staff and features”

amenities and staff were very good

I got upgraded upon arrival and staff were very helpful and courteous. Location is a close to the Beijing olympic park for those that are interested but a bit far from downtown beijing. Also food at the hotel needs improvement as quality lacking for a 5 star hotel. Yoghurt for example was horrible and too watery. Juice drinks are breakfast were not fresh and tasted quite bad.
