Beautiful location, well prices with nice rooms.”
Marcosas Cottages Resort is a short tricycle ride from MoalBoal. The staff are very nice and the hotel has a great swimming pool. The cottages are detatched and very spacious. The price of food and drinks was very cheap. The resort is well situated near the beach and a series of restuarants, bars and diving shops. I would definitely reccommend this hotel for couples, adventurers, families or anyone to stay at.

Perfect homebase in Moalboal”
Marcosas cottages are an ideal place to stay if you plan to stay in Moalboal in the Panangsama beach area with loads of restaurants and places to go, but still have complete privacy inside the resort. There is no beach nearby to go to, everything revolves around diving in here. Cottages are spacious and spotlessly clean with nice semi-outdoor feeling bathroom. Highlight of the resort is excellent pool and friendly and attentive staff catering to your every need.

A hideaway in plain sight!”
Marcosas Cottages Resort is a great place! Hidden away -- sort of; but right in the middle of where you want to be in Moalboal. Surrounding the resort is foliage and a short footpath along the other cottages. Great place to get away.

Exceeded expectations - clean, comfortable rooms”
After staying in nearby White Beach for considerably more money we were happy to make the move to Marcosas Cottages in Panagsama Beach. Reasonably priced for clean rooms with air con. Peaceful surroundings and a nice pool (with slide) and a relaxing spa (massage). Food was good and the pool bar was hard to beat with 30-40 Peso beers and fast wifi. Plenty of dive shops in the area that are also less costly than in White Beach. Tip - try the pizza at the nearby Chili Bar...oddly excellent!

romantic place with great staffs”
Good service and great food. The rooms are cozy and excellently clean.Marcosa`s suitable for hotel relaxations. The staff and crew of the resort are very friendly and accomodating. The stay was truly convenient even with our kids around. With MEDDA Spa, it can also complete the vacation in the resort. We just hoped to have found Marcosas right away on our first step in Moalboal. We'll surely get a second round of stay at Marcosas next time we visit Moalboal!

Great place to stay”
The best thing I like about the resort is the lush, green surround. Each cottage is separated by tropical plants making each your personal hideaway. This is my 4th time to stay here and so highly recommend Marcosas Cottages Resort.

exceptional garden setting”
We stayed at Marcosas for four nights. The cottage is clean & spacious, also the bathroom. It would be better if there's an exhaust fan in the bathroom to keep the floor dry. Complimentary breakfast was good; few choices in their menu. The expansive garden with its beautiful plants is very relaxing. Cons: Too many exit gates with no security guard. Our cottage has a single door lock. The receptionists in the front desk need some basic customer service skills training. They're not welcoming to the guests.

50% agoda discount- worth it. full price? no way”
each cottage is an individual separate structure with its own toilet and bath. remember where you are though-- 4 hours drive away from cebu city so you can consider yourself out in the rough. the cottages are airconditioned and have ceiling fans too. furniture is rattan and ok for the place, it fits nicely into the overall ambiance. no bidet with the toilets which is pretty much par for the course for all european run resorts. this one is owned by a german so no bidet. nice pool, did not try the massage, good food, a bit pricey but again-- remember you are in a far flung location so everything has its transportation cost. all the other filipino run resorts and restaurants are much much cheaper but not as nice. one gets what one pays for after all. i paid agada discounted which was 50% off so it was worth it overall. if i had to pay full price, i would not have stayed as i am from the philippines and the provincial ambiance of the resort is something i've experienced many times before. overall -- worth it with the discount but at full price? chose the lesser costing resorts and settle for what they have to offer is my opinion. room tip: ask for the cottages way out in the back near the property back exit leading to the ocean walk. if you are not a scuba diver, you wont enjoy moalboal stayed july 2011, traveled with friends

Excellent stay ”
Stayed here for 2 nights, booked super last minute. The resort grounds are stunning. The room was large, simple, and clean. Aircon was the least noisy that we found in a while, and minibar/fridge was well stocked. Staff helped us with our 5am checkout and helped us get a trycicle to the main road. Sitting on the beautiful terrace, having a drink, and watching the lush landscape was amazing. We stayed at another resort in the same area for one night, and Marcosas was so much better. The kitchen staff allowed us to purchase ice from them, kalamansi, and borrow a knife , which we used to make rum/coke/lime drinks in our room :) this was a very relaxing stay! Would highly recommend!

Ok”
Marcosas Cottages is probably one of the best places in Moalboal. It's not that great by SE Asian standards, but if you're going to the city to dive then you'll probably be content. The pool is nice and big. The food is ok. The rooms are a fair size, but the beds are a little rough. I was able to sleep comfortably though. There are restaurants within walking distance, but they're as mediocre as the restaurant at Marcosas. You can't walk to the city, and you'll have to pay ~200 pesos for a ride. You can walk to a nearby reef, although the beach isn't for casual swimming and snorkelling is mediocre.

Like an oasis”
The grounds enclose lush greenery that's well tended -- making it a pleasure to walk around the small place to get to the cottage. The cottages are themselves separated from each other with greenery. Great friendly staff; the cottages I've stayed in were clean, airy, and comfortable. My second stay here and will make this my go to place when visiting Moalboal. Close to the ocean teeming with fish and turtles. Then it's a short walk to the action. I recommend this place highly.

Five star rating at One star price.”
I wish we would have stayed at Marcosas for our entire vacation. The food was perfect and inexpensive. The entire staff seemed happy to be at work. The rooms (we were there twice) were clean and modern. The pool was beautiful and just the right temperature. At every meal away from Marcosas, my wife commented that she missed their spinach! (I missed the ice coffee.) Zero complaints, nothing could have been better.

Exceptional”
Since the place was fully booked, I had to book my family to the next resort. It was unfortunate that my family could not enjoy the swimming pool with us even despite the fact that we had our breakfast at Marcosas. They have a strict rule on Guest only use for the pool which is sad. My emails were also not responded to swiftly and I had to make several calls just to get prompt answers. Other than that, the place is great. Perhaps just improvements on these things.

Great stay at Marcosas”
Great big family room that was clean and well equipped with kitchen and bathroom necessities. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer. We had a big balcony with lounge chairs and steps leading out to the beach. Close to restaurants and dive shops. 5 star deal on the hotel. Note on the general area (nothing to do with the Hotel but good to know): The beach in Moalboal although beautiful and clear waters, was not as sandy as I was told and hoped. This area especially, Basdiot, is really a diving and snorkeling/island hopping spot. The beach has very short white sand/beach area and in some spots, rocky. We drove to Basdaku to get better beach but that was still not as white sand beach as I had hoped. Also, holy week was just a nightmare in the overall area.

Awesome Experience ”
It was an awesome experience to stay at Marcosas with reasonable price. The breakfast was good and staffs are helpful. If u go visit, mix-fruit smoothie is the must try drink there. I ordered three glasses during my dinner. It’s also worth mentioning that the hotel is closed to sea turtle sanctuary area. It’s convenient to go snorkeling or scuba diving and seeing the sea turtles with just few minutes walk.

Good staff very clean and a great pool!”
We stayed for 3 nights and found the pool and room excellent. We found he Hideaway Superior Cottage rather too hideaway for us and a little claustrophobic as they are closed in with walls around and narrow access path so we moved to the cottages with kitchen (rm #12) which had a more open aspect with natives gardens and lawn in view from the porch. Every thing is well run and working in the rooms and the resort in general.as one as come to expect would expect from a German owned resort. They do have one cottage with a sea view but otherwise the cottages are across a lane from the sea and walled in with out sea views which was the only negative for us. However it is easy to get to the sea as they have very good dive shop with access through for resort guests.

Very good”
Overall Marcosas Cottages Resort is a nice place. We were happy with the accommodation and we think it was good value for money. It was also very clean and the garden was beautiful. On the other hand, we were quite disappointed by the lack of pro-active hospitality shown by most team members. Guests are more "processed" than they are "welcomed". Genuine smiles and even basic greetings were rare. One particular team member serving breakfast every other day was so bored and on a constant "mute" mode that it made for an unpleasant experience. If staff members could reconnect a bit with the guests it would be a really great place.

Quiet, independent, well-organized garden cottage”
I had good & romantic time in here. There was a well-organized kitchen, so we bought some shrimp and pork at the fish market. When we came back we cooked the food easily and had a little beautiful party with alcohol which we brought to there from Cebu city. But Mini bar's beverage was also reasonable price. We drank one bottle of San miguel(30p) and water(25p). There is a motorcycle rental shop nearby hotel(It takes only 3 mins on walking. You can ask to reception.) We rented the motorcycle whole day for 300 pesso.(not including gasoline) It takes 30~45 mins to Kawasan falls by motorcycle. It was very romantic when I was given a ride by my boyfriend and enjoyed looking around of beautiful moal boal while taking motorcycle. Hotel was very quiet and there was well-organized garden around the cottage. But the only problems were insect and animal's poop. There were two mouse's poop next to my bed... If you drop a little cracker piece, "A LOT OF" ants will come immediately. And sometimes they crawl up on your body.... But I understand, because it was totally natural friendly hotel. In conclusion, I enjoyed my anniversary there with my lover, and It was reasonable price.

Homely vibe”
The seafront cottage is like staying in a private beach front house with a direct cement path to the beach. It is equip with an iron gate at the main entrance and huge verandah facing the beautiful sea. It is just a few steps to a slightly rough stony and not so sandy beach. However the beach shoreline is a great spot for snorkeling and sardine run near Chili bar area is a 5 min walk from your cottage. The fully function kitchenware in our room also provides 24 hour food supply for our kids diets. Hence we spent more time visiting the minimart which is next to our cottage to stock up essential ingredients to cook. It is also time and cost savings to easily prepared home cooked food after an exhausting activities.
