Value for Money”
Excellent Location. A 5 min walk to Panagsama Beach. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Breakfast is ok. Staff can arrange trips for you. Spacious bathroom. Resort looks a lot better in person. Feels more expensive than what we paid for.
Peaceful place with all necessary amenities ”
We were very satisfied with our stay. Only one very disturbing and disappointing factor were the Receptionists and most staff, especially the lady who facilitated our check in. When we arrived, the hotel staff were lounging at the reception, making chika. None of them even made a simple greeting. They just stared instead. The receptionist just took our bags without even saying anything. It was a very weird atmosphere for a good and relaxing hotel. I even checked other guest reviews and found out im not alone with this problem. The staff was simply rude und disrespectful. They need serious training and the management really has to do something about this!
Awesome Experience ”
It was an awesome experience to stay at Marcosas with reasonable price. The breakfast was good and staffs are helpful. If u go visit, mix-fruit smoothie is the must try drink there. I ordered three glasses during my dinner. It’s also worth mentioning that the hotel is closed to sea turtle sanctuary area. It’s convenient to go snorkeling or scuba diving and seeing the sea turtles with just few minutes walk.
You have to try this place!”
Excellent! We stayed at the seaside cottage for 5nights and then booked 2 more nights for the other cottage in the garden. One of the best you can find in this area. Location is perfect. very close to everything but very quiet. Seaside room has its own private pathway to the beach, where we saw at least 5 turtles just by snorkeling. Room facility is much better than pictures online! especially for cottages in the garden everything look so new and modern; seaside room’s facility is a bit old compared to others, but you have the beach! Breakfast and massage are Will def stay here again next time :))
Bad service, staff not friendly at all”
Woman at the front desk was very bad service and attitude. (im not sure is she an owner or officer) Since day 1 checked-in until checed-out. She never say hi or smile to us at all. Her attitude and service mind was horrible! We’d borrowed hairdryer from the front desk and forgot to bring back to her when check-out she just stared at our face and spoke to us as loud voice ‘Hair dryer hair dryer!!’ Without ‘please’ or any action that shown her kindness. Also day 2 the mate forgot to give us 2 bottle of water then we’d asked them politely to please give us water. She just tried to asked us why we didn’t receive since mate must put it in the room! I think her attitude and her words implied that she think we were lied to her! This is such an awful service at all! There still has a lot of situation that shown her bad service. Very bad impression for this place. Ps.blanket is not blanket. It’s just a thin bed sheet......
Great hotel, much better than the pictures! ”
Lovely hotel in the perfect location. Only a couple of minutes walk to the main beach but far enough that you can’t hear loud music. We found it was much better in real life, the photos don’t do it justice. Good breakfast as well (which we found can be hit and miss in the Philippines!) definitely recommend.
Good cottage with great value”
Cottage was very large and well maintained. Beds are not very comfortable. AC is strong. Location is close to the beach and restaurants. Internet is very slow. Staff wasnt very pleasant. Breakfast was okay. The pool was good. Beautiful gardens and privacy.
Should have stayed here first. ”
Excellent facility. Room was spacious, staff was very nice and helpful. Pool and restaurant outstanding. The location was very central and the car park was safe and secure. We stayed at another resort our first night before walking over and checking this one out and regretted not spending all of our time here. Good value for the money spent. Breakfast was very good. Wi-Fi in the public area only, was a good connection.
Excellent stay ”
Stayed here for 2 nights, booked super last minute. The resort grounds are stunning. The room was large, simple, and clean. Aircon was the least noisy that we found in a while, and minibar/fridge was well stocked. Staff helped us with our 5am checkout and helped us get a trycicle to the main road. Sitting on the beautiful terrace, having a drink, and watching the lush landscape was amazing. We stayed at another resort in the same area for one night, and Marcosas was so much better. The kitchen staff allowed us to purchase ice from them, kalamansi, and borrow a knife , which we used to make rum/coke/lime drinks in our room :) this was a very relaxing stay! Would highly recommend!
Great facilities and value for money ”
We stayed for 3 nights. The room was clean and spacious. The pool is a great amenity. The bar is well priced and the food is good. Breakfast is nice. We got laundry done with the hotel, again very reasonably priced. The hotel also arranged a bike for us at a good price. The only issue we had was some of the staff were a bit rude. The receptionist nearly lost her cool with us because she thought we had not returned our pool towels, even though I had. All in all a great place
Resort is good but staff is untrained ”
The property is good for budgst travels but the staff is very rude. They behave like hostel wardens
Mosquitoes everywhere with poor beds and bedding ”
I can't recommend this place as I got badly bitten by mosquitoes The beds are terrible and its flimsy little mattress with a sheet as a blanket The staff on reception think they are doing you a favor by talking to you I asked for my room to be sprayed and they told me my mosquito bites were bed bugs so I told them really as they happened last night in your room That soon turned the direction of the conversation Pitiful behavior.....never again will I stay here Overpriced and overrated
Perfect stay ”
PROS: Great location away from noise but close (5mins Max walking) from action. Good value for money. Friendly staff. Clean, lovely pool. Simple but tasty breakfast. Lovely jungle setting with beautiful spacious cottages. Feels safe. CONS: bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows were hard. Overall great stay thank you all
it is the only hotel in Philippines with unfriendly and unsmiling staff by our experience. It is strange, because we have seen the same opinions from other people used that hotel. Why the management do not pay attention on that? The pool was ok, but staff cleaned it during working hours and it was not possible to swim at that time, also water-slide did not work at our last day with no reason for that at all. Our children were upset. Takes into account that we chose the hotel because the pool with water-slide for kids it was not convenient for us. Positive point that the hotel has good library with many books in different languages. We used it with pleasure.
Old school vibe in a good location”
We chose this establishment as it was walking distance from Panagsama beach and a good base to go canyoneering in Kawasan falls Our cottage felt a bit old but since it was number 2, I guess it’s one of the first ones built in the resort. It was far from the reception, the pool and the breakfast area but had a very nice view of the sea. Perhaps the shabby look made me feel I overpaid my stay, but hey it’ll teach me to book my hotels on short notice. All in all a strategic location between turtle point and the sardine balls with a nice pool we never used and uninspiring breakfast options. We paid add-on fruit salad every morning to have a healthier meal.
Massages were great. Great rest area by pool with poolbar. Resort staff managed all our trips for good prices to waterfalls.
exceptional garden setting”
We stayed at Marcosas for four nights. The cottage is clean & spacious, also the bathroom. It would be better if there's an exhaust fan in the bathroom to keep the floor dry. Complimentary breakfast was good; few choices in their menu. The expansive garden with its beautiful plants is very relaxing. Cons: Too many exit gates with no security guard. Our cottage has a single door lock. The receptionists in the front desk need some basic customer service skills training. They're not welcoming to the guests.
All good...except the beds”
Nice resort...large pool...good restaurant/breakfast As per other reviews...the only downside is the bed...I don’t consider two single mattresses pushed together...as a double bed...not very comfortable Otherwise...good place...spacious rooms and facilities
Nice place, near to the beach and dive shops”
This is a lovely resort, a pool area with cottages surrounding it. The breakfast was excellent and I liked the fact that the minibar prices were actually in line with what you'd normally pay for a drink in the Philippines instead of being extortionate. It's a 10 minute trike ride from the bus station and you can walk the main beach area in about 6-7 minutes.
Often stay here”
I've gone to Moalboal a couple of times and I think I've stayed here everytime. Can't beat catching some rays by the pool here. Not really too much to complain about, Some thicker mattresses for the bed so it's a little more comfy, our toilet was a bit wonky but still like this place and may be back again!
