Nice escape to the island”
The lodge is very nicely located at the remote island of Mantanani. It has all the necessary amenities and the resort itself is quite clean. The nature on the island is beautiful and i would recommend anyone to take a boat tour for going snorkling/diving. The coral reefs with their beautiful fish are amazing to see. One negative point is to see all the plastic waste on the island island and in the sea. The local villagers living there just throw their plastic waste in to the sea with no regrets! This is quite heartbreaking to see unfortunately.

Relaxing Escape”
I stayed here for a night during my week long stay in Sabah. The resort is very relaxing as there are not many rooms on the island. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The snorkeling and sea kayaking prices are very affordable compared to other places that I have stayed at in the past. The only downside is that the showers don't work very well, as the water pressure is very low. Be prepared to be a bit sticky if you plan on going into the ocean, as you won't be able to take a decent shower afterwords. Also, the beach isn't very clean because locals deposit their trash on the beach.

A perfect night on a beach”
Although the weather there was a bit unstable, we still managed to enjoy ourselves in this beautiful small island. Even though our trip was delayed on the day we were supposed to leave the island due to bad weather, the stuff there tried their best to help us and provided complimentary accommodation.

Great Value for an Island Paradise”
What a great place to stay. Not 5 stars, but who cares when you can see turquoise waters from your private porch and sit under a cabana or on the beach drinking a coconut. The price was right for us, and we also really enjoyed the diving and especially the snorkeling. I've never seen so many fish....like even in an aquarium. Bring an underwater camera or gopro. Worth 3 or 4 or 5 nights. We also walked into town and purchased a full Parrot fish that they prepared so wonderfully. It was definitely the right choice to come here after hiking Kinabalu, which was amazing!

Beautiful sulaps on a beautiful island”
Mari Mari is a lovely place to stay - a bit like glamping. We had read lots of reviews which were not overly positive but we loved it! Our sulap was only a few metres from the sea, with beautiful white sand in between. We did some great snorkelling but unfortunately were not able to dive due to the weather reducing visibility. Would highly recommend!

Quiet and Relaxing place”
Overall speaking the resort is quite good. Location-wise its a bit difficult to handle since it is claimed that there will be only 1 boat transfer each day. If you book through Agoda, just make sure you have arranged your transport in advance of entering the island, which we didn't and thus caused a great deal of troubles. However, staff there are very helpful and cheerful. If you need a relaxing holiday, Mari-Mari is simply your choice!

Nice location but..”
The island is amazing! They have a nice clean white sand beach, the sea in front of gate is good for snorkeling and more on left side great for swimming and chilling. Visiting vilige was quite an experience. Unfortunately I have to complain about management. Email exchange was fast and easy, but we got the worst cottage and seems like the main reason was that we booked by agoda and got a discount here.. Eventually they changed our cottage for two nights, for last night we had to move again ,but they couldn't get our cottage ready because guests checked out two hours late. So we were sitting and waiting.. There is few another little issues like they said dinner will start at 6 ,so we came and wait but eventually they started hour later.

Stunning location, clean rooms, limited food.”
My partner and I had a wonderful time here and would definitely stay again. The accommodation is just steps away from the sand and the aqua water. The main activities are snorkelling and diving, apart from that there's not much to do apart from sunbathe or play volleyball. It's a perfect place to relax but don't expect partying or any lively atmosphere here. The rooms are clean and comfortable; it's a desert island so if you want luxury don't stay here. The only down side was the food. We stayed for 5 days and they ran out of pretty much the whole menu twice, including drinks. This wasn't really a huge problem, however for the price they charge, they should improve their food and supply of it during high season. The breakfast is also very basic. For us, this was a small compromise for the stunning location. For others, it seemed to diminish their experience, especially the families.

Solo Traveller”
As a solo traveller all was good. Personal safety was a priority. Had the best room with a view. I could just stay at the hammock all day with the view. Sad to say no electricity available during the day. There was a day it was getting too dark but the lights where still not on at 630pm and had to sit and wait at the beach till it was switched on (this resort only have electricty power from 630pm to 630am) cause most of the time during the day you will be outdoors. But i wonder what will happen if it gets dark in the day and during rainy days. They could have improved the quality of food better, small restaurants serve better food i would say. Others was good☺️

Beautiful beach and basic room”
We really enjoyed our stay in Mari Mari. The island is beautiful and the resort is right off the beach,still on the sand. The resort is basic as everything there has to be brought over by boat. It was really quiet which was nice if you just want a bit of peace. The rooms were build on stilts which looks really pretty although the bugs can get in. The staff were really nice but a lot of things on the menu were not actually available. We ended up asking them to just let us know what they did have. There are trips you can go on like snorkelling an you can rent kayaks. They can also arrange scuba diving although they didn't recommend it when I asked them.

Nice place but overpriced”
We enjoyed our time here but we're disappointed at the price we paid for what we get. Also because you are so secluded on the island, you have no option to eat every meal in the cafeteria which is overpriced food and quite restricted menu. Everything is overpriced as they know you have no other choice on the island, for example you are charged for wifi by the day! Also the staff were quite lazy and not very helpful. Diving was not good. Other than the pricing we enjoyed our stay on the island, if you just want a nice secluded spot with not much to do but enjoy the sun and sea then it's great.

The resort is a beautiful place and staff is very friendly. The chalets look special but are not really comfortable. The high price pays definitely the location, not the room comfort. Very hot at night and no moskito nets.

Nice but one unhappy thing happened”
The staffs of the lodge are friendly, the bungalow is beauty. We had a relax and good time there. But one thing happened, we were unhappy in the end. I have asked the fee of shuttle bus, but the staff told me it's free, so we didn't bring enough money to the Island. No matter how much is the shuttle bus, the staff should be honest to give the info.

Electricity does not come in time a little hot. The bulb was broken. But just it gave changes for the better room. The restaurant dishes are delicious as one. The staff is also friendly and gave as one example of our requirements. I want to stay more than two nights next one as foil.

Nice place for relaxation ”
Nice and helpful staffs. It’s a good place for holiday if you like beach and sun. The lodge is on the beach, just go downstairs and you will reach the sea. You can play snorkelling twice a day with experienced coaches. It take a bit long way to get there, but it’s worth to do so. It’s better to take drugs before transportation. Just one minor thing, order the food ASAP since they need some time to cook for all travellers.

Wouldn't recommend for solo traveler”
The island itself is beautiful and the rooms are nice enough for basic accomodation. I would recommend coming with a friend though as it's not very busy and I had no one to talk to. Still, nice to chill out and read my book!

Amazing little backpackers gem”
Loved this place. It was expensive for Borneo and the accommodation is basic, but for a basic place, it is lovely. Amazing secluded setting and wonderful huts on the beach. Couldn't have asked for more. Loved it!

nice island but too pricey for the low quality”
Although the island location is lovely, the price you pay for the very budget-style accommodation is frankly too much. The food which you must buy from Mari Mari is not very nice. The snorkelling is great, as is the diving, but just be ready to overspend on everything else! Also note that there is no aircon or wifi, and the intermittent electricity is only turned on at night. Also bring earplugs to cope with the sound of the fan while you are sleeping. No mosquito nets either.
