"Booked last minute for 4th of July mini-vacation. Was a little unsure based on other reviews but when I only looked at those written by families with older children, I felt better. Hotel was very nice for the price. Bed only moderately comfortable but what i expected for price. Room was clean, shower and toilet worked fine. Did not use wi-fi or TV. Having microwave and fridge in room was nice bonus. Kids loved the hot chocolate available in the lobby. Breakfast was donuts, muffins, pastries and fruit -more than adequate. Only a few blocks from Aquatics Park to watch fireworks. I felt safe on walk back but there were some people arguing at a bus stop which made my 16-yr-old daughter nervous. My 14&9 yr old boys didn't seem phased at all. I attributed it to holiday drunkery. Lobby staff super friendly at both check-in and check-out. Really, the only down side was the super tight parking with my big Honda Odyssey, but we made it work. They do have to have cars double park and if yours is one of those, you just need to leave keys with front desk so they can move it. I did not notice excessive street noise but the hotel did have two packages of earplugs on nightstand for light sleepers. Overall, very good experience and would definitely stay there again. "

"Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and ended up extending our stay here. The rooms were ready for us prior to the usual check in time which was fantastic as we arrived there several hours earlier than planned. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the Fisherman's Wharf area where you can have beautiful, fresh seafood, climb aboard ships on the historical Pier 39 and listen to many a street artist perform as well as go to the access pier to Alcatraz (although this is about 25 minutes walk). The hotel is also a short walk to the cable car stop where you can travel one way to the great shopping area of Union Square for $6 per person. This cable car will take you past the crooked road which is a good photo opportunity! If you are up for a lot of walking and burning off the calories then you could always do as we did and walk to pretty much anywhere from here (even the Golden Gate Bridge) - if you get tired you can always catch a bus back.
