Good hotel bit old though ”

Clean rooms, freindly staff

Maritime Park and Spa Resort is a good hotel. But the management has to pay more attention on the surroundings as we experienced bad smell near the restaurant. The garden is very clean but we guess the problem is with the water in the stream nearby. On the day we arrived at the hotel internet facility was not available. Free wifi was there but as we didnt bring a lap top we were not able to use the computers in the business room to browse the internet. However the staff was friendly and the service was really good. Rooms were very clean.

the outside was beautiful the buffet breakfast was amazing the views from the room have nice views on the lagoon and forest
Didnt like the deco of the room, walls in a strange green Humidity on the ceiling but it was not a big deal at all

We stayed one night on the Maritime Resort and we had a great time there. The hotel is located in a central road close by all the ametinies. If you had a commute to Phang nan, or to Krabi golf course for exemple it wont take you more than 30 min wchich is good. Krabi center is only at 10 min away by car. You will have to take taxis or rent a car otherwise you wont be able to move because nothing is walking distance. Hotel have a taxi service, to go to the center of Krabi, 50bath / person. Otherall, we had a pleasant stay...

Perfect location/ Great pool”

The hotel is away from the noisy town located in an amazing parc with laguna and hills and beautiful views. In between the pier and airport (both 15 min by cab) and 5 min from downtown. Krabi is not a place where you want to stay for a long time but the hotel is a perfect place to spend the night before taking a flight or upon arrival. Service is kind, nice spa, food is good.
Lots of old scandinavian tourists. Rooms need to be modernised but are clean. Make sure you don't lock the doorknob botton from the inside when you leave the room or you won't be able to get in anymore...

After an amazing trip to PhiPhi, Railay and Ko Lanta where we stayed in the most beautiful resorts, we didn't expect much of this hotel. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised: the hotel is located along a river and a lake surrounded by green hills and palmtrees. There's a huge pool and a great spa. Krabi is a busy town where you can go for the night (50 bath pp by cab). It's not the place where you want to stay several days but it's a great hotel when you arrive in Thailand before starting your trip or to spend your last night before flying back home. Ok: the rooms are a bit outdated, but comfortable and with balcony. The higher the floor the better the view!

Well really a quiet place for layback couples.a 5 star hotel.Great internet service up to 10pm,they allow you to continue, just close the aircon n light by yourself.
Front desk is not a 24 hrs service

We should have taken the PhiPhi island tour, cause is nearer from Krabi, rather from Phuket.krabi is a sleepy town, with not so much of a excitement. You sleep early in your room,Maritime do have a nice breakfast buffet to enjoy to the fullest while in Krabi.Good Holiday.

swimming pool, food, staff friendliness
cable tv wasn't cable tv at all

This resort is set in lushicious grounds well kept and beautiful to walk through. The swimming pool is huge with many deck chairs and sun chairs available. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with tea and coffeee facilities and big bath tub. There was even aromatherapy oil in the bathroom. The staff were very frindly, their english not so good 100% of the time but always ready to help. There is a shuttle service available to ao nang and Krabi which is very useful. This resort was well worth every cent spent!! I highly recommend!

Good Distance From Krab Towni! Nice Place Overall”

The Food, The Pool, and The View

Arrived too early, but they were accommodating, so set the trip up nicely to start. It a big hotel so front staff are usually quite busy but are helpful once available. The pool was large and perfectly suited for our family. Our deck overlooked the mountains (hills) and was very nice. We had a corner suite so had a double deck. Overall a very nice place to stay away from Krabi town but near enough to take shuttle (1o minutes) and book your various trips. We rented a car so only stayed two days, but they were quiet, relaxing days to start us off.

"outside" of town.. but, that's not a weakness. It's time to relax !

We came there from PhiPhi Island. this Hotel var clean, nice and neat. Kinde "outside" of Krabi, but, that's not a weakness.. you'll be thrilled be the sorrounding...the beautifull park... the nicest spa... the big pool with bar. You've got everything here! And if you "must" go to the city...you'll have a hotel taxi driving you there and picking you up. So, no need to worry ! Very great place to just relax and recover from the stress.

Get in while you can”

This place embodies ‘Former Glory’. A swaggering complex of facilities and beautiful manicured tropical lushness, it actually creeped us out how deserted it was on our first night...like a giant resort version of the Marie Celeste. Whilst a little past it’s prime, and clearly suffering in the new-world economy of on-line scrutiny and the tsunami of modern-day options, it is still nonetheless proud of its 4-star heritage and as such is fantastic value for money. Staffed by what appeared to be a skeleton crew, the grounds-keeping team still manage the huge gardens meticulously. Massage pavilions going to ruin, meditation pagodas with chairs stacked unused in the corner, a massive empty pool...but the magnificent vistas and many tiny nooks are truly stunning. It has a colonial botanic garden vibe to it, is bordered at one end by a beautiful karst, and one can even take a stroll down to its own secluded (albeit a bit run-down) jetty over the Krabi river. Get in while it’s still there.

Big hotel, efficient staff, quiet and empty”

clean rooms, clean bathrooms with slight drainage probs, green sceneries, peace and quiet

We were on our way to phi phi island from the krabi airport but we missed our ferry (Last ferry at 3pm to phi phi island from the ferry terminal). It left us with no choice but to book this hotel online. The hotel was up to par with our expectations from the website. It was a big hotel, the rooms were clean, the swimming pool was big surrounded by beautiful views of the marine park greenery and mountains. The price of the taxi from the ferry terminal should be 350baht for 3 person and it takes about 15mins to travel by car. The breakfast was a good extensive spread with everything you need to start a morning from american to local breakfast delights. Eventhough we had to spend a night for a stop over to phi phi island, we loved our stay nevertheless. The Krabi town was worn down, empty and considered expensive to get around esp with only private taxis around to overcharge you for 10min travelling distance. If you happen to get stuck just like us in Krabi town, its good to just stay in the hotel for the night and rather not go out because there is absolutely nothing to see, buy or do. It almost felt like a ghost town. Apart from all that we had a good one night stay at the hotel and the staff are friendly people.

The grounds the hotel is built on is so romantic. Kayaks and breakfast is included so tons to do!
wish the lagoon connected to the lake and the Internet doesn't work on iPhones.

Friendly staff and service. The view from some of the rooms are spectacular with views of the pool, mountains, lagoons and river all from the same window. Tons of fish in the lagoon and very close to krabi town. The lobby was beautiful and the conceirge can set you up with all types of activities. The breakfast buffet was great and had many healthy options.

Great Hotel!”

Pool area, Setting in semi-forest, breakfast area.
A little old.

We had a great stay at this hotel on the last night before leaving Thailand. It is located about half way between Krabi airport and Krabi town, which is handing if going to both places. There is a shuttle bus which runs from the hotel to the airport which is much cheaper than a taxi. The room is basic but was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was standard but the setting was nice, semi-outside by the pool. Great value for money and recommended as a over night stay if passing through Krabi.

Lovely pool and really nice view on the river. The hotel area is like a palm tree garden, beautiful. We had lots of internet problems, but we got assistance in the room directly and compensation, so I felt really comfortable about this anyways. The staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast buffe is great. It is close to Krabi airport, so a few days there is great. I' return here again, certainly.

Lovely hotel with amazing pool”

Great pool, lovely staff, great ameneties e.g. free bike riding and kayaking within the resort.
Food, drink, internet and taxis all extortionately expensive!

When we arrived we were given a free upgrade, this could be because the hotel was very quiet, only 1 or 2 other couples which was odd for xmas we thought. But we had the amazing pool all to ourselves for the first 2 days. We opted out of the buffet breakfast at per person and also the xmas dinner at 750 because it was way too much for us. We when to the lovely restaurant just around the corner from the hotel instead. The hotel is quite out the way from Krabi town center, we got a taxi there and back most days. We didnt use the hotel shuttle bus which you had to pre order an hour before you wanted to go and pay each, we walked to the main road (2mins)and got one of the frequent bus/taxis for half the price. Also we went to town to use the internet because it was still less than half the price of the hotels an hour even when you add in the price of taxis!. We really enjoyed the free kayaking on the lagoon and we spent many hours by the lovely pool.

Aging beauty forced to work beyond her years”

Large rooms and bed, friendly staff, outside areas

The Maritime resort looks fantastic in pictures, but is falling slightly into disrepair. The large pool and lake area were impressive (though not quite as large as they had seemed in photos), as were the front drive and large rooms, and the attentiveness if the staff (especially the large Bo' Selecta-esque lady who greeted us as we arrived). Our whole group were excited at the prospect of staying in the hotel which had been occupied by the crew of 'The Beach' during filming after seeing the slightly deceptive photos of the outside areas, though these weren't nearly as deceptive as the portrayal of the beach from which the film takes it's name, which I would not recommend visiting. It seemed to me that little had happened in the way of refurbishment (barring to the grounds) in the years since the movie had been filmed, just as little seemed to have happened in Krabi Town itself as compared to neighbouring Ao Nang, which in turn seemed merely like a stopping-off point on the way to the islands of Phi Phi and Lanta, and to Raileh, even in what was apparently 'high-season'. The hotel was useful as a place to recover from the excesses of Phi Phi, especially considering it's proximity to the airport, but by the third day cracks in 'paradise' were beginning to become clearer, just as in the movie, and I was starting to feel a little deoressed at the injustice of a former beauty being reduced to selling herself so low to make ends meet, and it didn't seem as if a Hollywood ending was on the cards in this slightly sad little tale.

Relaxing and pleasant. ”

Courtesy bus to AoNang Beach, large pools and great views

Our stay was great at this resort however it was quite out of reach from the main tourist area in Krabi. AoNang beach is the place to be and stay as the markets, spas, tours and beaches are all there. Maritime had a shuttle service however the trips were limited to two per day to AoNang and therefore most often we had to catch a tuktuk or taxi back to the resort. About 500-600 baht. If you are after a great relaxing and quiet resort then Maritime is definitely the place to be. Staff are great and they have a restaurant on site making it easy if you have had a busy day and don't want to pay to go back into An Nang to the specialty local restaurants.

Maritime Resort & Spa”

Great rate from AGODA, transfers to town always ready, 50B per person. Beautiful pool and grounds. View is magnificent!
A little outdated but very comfortable, rooms are spacious and clean but could do with some modernising.

The hotel is a little out of town so unless you hire a moped in town you'll need to get hotel taxis to and from Krabi town. The town itself is really just a port town, lots of shops and stalls but not somewhere you'd spend any time really. We used the maritime as a base as we didnt know what our plans were. Headed to Ao Nang beach by public taxi/ pick up truck (which was really cool) for 50B per person. We were there in low season so when we got back to the hotel it seemed pretty quiet, not much atmosphere in the evenings but nice and peaceful. Breakfast was good but get in early! No safety deposit in room, a bit inconvenient, but a safety deposit room behind reception and the staff were happy to oblige our regular requests to deposit cards etc...

Old Glory”

Nice pool, nice lake, nice view

This hotel is old and is in dire need of a face lift. One thing that surprised us was when the taxi driver dropped us off from the airport, he says "oh, Maritime, this is a chinese hotel". We didnt know what he ment until we checked in, and indeed, there were bus loads of Chinese tourist from China checking in and out. And as we found out, this occurred daily during our 5 night stay. Breakfast was nothing special. The swimming pool was big but seemed that the filtration system was not in operation which was a concern. The photos of the room are greatly exaggerated. Staff are seemingly nice and friendly at first but quickly become irritable and rigid after multiple inquiries. There is NO FREE WIFI in the room, only in hotel lobby and you'll find that you are not the only one at night coming downstairs with your phone or laptop, checking email. The hotel is far from Ao Nang beach (20mins) and the free shuttle is limited (only 2 trips back and forth daily). Taxi to Ao Nang costs 500 baht, one way. In fact, any taxi in Krabi to anywhere seem to cost 500 baht, regardless of destination. We recommend that you stay here ONLY if you want a quiet stay. Krabi town does not offer much in terms of entertainment. There are several decent Thai restaurants out side the hotel but thats about it. We recommend staying nearer to Ao Nang beach, prices may be a little higher than maritime but you'll save on taxi fares and you'll have a better time.
