Nice hotel and Huge Room ”
Love the size of the room! Comes with a living room, a bedroom, a kitchenette, and a cosy corner with a small table and chair. TV in both bedroom and living room. Issue faced as follows: 1) Room phone did not state what number to dial to front desk. They have a "At your Service" quick dial button but when i pressed it, it went to a "no dial" tone. In the end, I needed to go level 1 to ask the front desk for service. 2) At front desk, spoke to a senior looking lady in dark suit, told her my issue, and also what number to dial to front desk. She wrote my room number and said will get someone to take a look. Think she forgot, no one came, so i had to call front desk to get someone to fit my issue. 3) Even though they have a nice cosy corner with a small desk and chair. Not recommended to sit there with curtain open, because the lamp will shine directly into my room, super bright and shine into my eyes. My room is 1410.
The basics in place; good service; now to improve”
Many good things here - location, comfort, super friendly staff. It's a really good place to stay. Hotel however doesn't attend to fixing the elevator service, reducing the large amount of plastic waste generated every day, etc. Time to aim for the stars and go from good to great.
Always a pleasure to stay in this hotel. Stunning rooftop bar
Solid hotel, with a couple of caveats”
This hotel just *works.* It's comfortable; staff is friendly; pool, food all good. Lots to recommend. Two problems: 1) If you are trying to get on the BTS at Thong Lor, the wait gets longer and longer. This could be a problem for travelers going to other areas at rush hour. 2) The hotel is good at many things but poor at sustainability. Lots of plastic in the rooms. When I arrived, all the lights were on and temperature was below 22 degrees C - in the middle of the day. To be a high-end hotel, the Marriott needs to focus more on taking care of the environment.
Dear Khun Peter, Thank you very much for your patronage and support us as always. We have take your comment regarding the environment concern and we have launch the paper straw in order to be apart of reduce the plastic usage and many more project to come. We are looking forward to welcome back in the future. Regards, Maya Assistant Director of Rooms
Second time staying here in 2 years. Surprisingly the room we got this time was better than our first room and the maintenance is very good. The fixtures are high quality so overall this hotel doesn't show it's age. The shower is super brisk and powerful. Didn't have a chance this time to go to the wonderful rooftop bar but it's amazing up there. Only problem now is that this hotel is quite popular and we had to move hotels because they didn't have anymore availability. But love the location and the quality of the hotel overall.
Dear Hoang, Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I'm glad you have better experience better than last year. We and all the team is trying the best and very focus in keeping and maintenance to ensure that our room is look new and fresh for our customers. We hope your next visit with us , you will have time to visit the Octave roof top bar on 45 and 49th floor. Best regards, Maya Assistant Director of Rooms
Nice hotel. Now work on the fine points”
good location, genuinely friendly staff, some nice amenities. But as prices go up, so do expectations. Time to fix - - the elevators, which are usually in the wrong place - eco-friendliness - tons of plastic in every room use (shampoo bottles, water bottles, laundry bags, etc.) Keep improving!
Warm and well located”
Good location, comfortable, nice facilities. Lovely staff. To work on: - lots of plastic waste, from water bottles to shampoo bottles to plastic bags for internal laundry delivery - room air conditioning was on really strong even before we arrived - elevators never where you need them - prices keep going up!
Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.”
Generally the apartment feels comfortable and luxurious. Housekeeping was completed to a good standard, with fresh linens and towels replaced daily. The breakfast contains a variety of delicious food which will be suitable across palates of different nationalities. However, a couple of things that could be improved. These include the shower screen door which was poorly designed resulting in the water that has been splashed onto the door not being drained back to the shower cubicle but to the exterior, which resulted in wet floor in the dry section of the toilet that has to dried up with floor rugs. Furthermore, the drainage pipe of the washing machine is also not properly sealed up and as such, faint sewage smell may be noticeable the moment one enters the apartment. This could be solved by having the exhaust fan within the laundry cabinet turned on all the time.
Very appealing - but getting expensive”
I've been staying at this hotel for a couple of years. It's well located, comfortable, and friendly, with all the pieces in place. Prices seem to be getting ahead of the competition, though, so I am looking for alternatives when I need to. Still to improve: - having the elevators at the right place at the right time - eco-consciousness - lots of plastic bottles for water and toiletries; key cards left in the slot in rooms by staff so lights and AC remain on.
Feels like home”
Look, it's not perfect - the elevators are a perennial problem, and it's not beautiful ... and prices keep going up. But the hospitality is really very good. It's well located, clean, friendly, and generally highly competent. Recommended
Well located and hospitable”
Returned to this hotel after a hiatus. It continues to be well staffed, with good facilities (comfortable room, nice breakfast, decent gym, nice pool). As always, things to improve include the elevators and the extravagant amount of plastic waste! But it's a good place to stay in Bangkok.
All the pieces fit together”
Location, hospitality, facilities - everything works. Staff is consistently friendly. Not flawless, but when things go wrong they are eager to fix them. Next challenge for this hotel: PLASTIC. Tons of water bottles, shampoo bottles, etc. Hotel says they are picked out of the trash every night but I wonder ...
Comfort and convenience”
Not a perfect hotel nor a highly luxurious one, but lots of comfort - good neighborhood, very friendly staff, good facilities. Use the lounge if you can. The elevators are a weak point ... but there are lots of strengths, too. Recommended.
Convenience and comfort”
So I wouldn't give this hotel five stars - maybe 4.5 - but it has pretty much all you need. Neighborhood is good; gym is good enough; staff is very nice. I keep going back. I also keep telling them that the elevators need to be reprogrammed so they're not always in exactly the wrong place but that doesn't change!!
All this, and a washing machine”
My go-to hotel in Bangkok. When I can, I book a room in the serviced apartments, which are generally around the same price. They have more space, and also a washer and dryer, which can be a big help. Persistent complaint: the elevators, which are never anywhere near where you want them to be!
3 weeks visiting family and friends”
I have stayed at the Marriott Executive Apartments Bangkok in Thonglor several times now. The one bedroom serviced apartment is spacious and comfortable. The washing machine and dryer are a must when staying for longer periods. The BTS Skytrain is less than 5min walk and Thonglor has some excellent bars and restaurants down Soi 55.
A warm stay”
Best thing here: staff in the lounge, if you can get access. Rooms are comfortable and well furnished. Neighborhood is convenient. Thing that most needs fixing: Elevators, which are always somewhere other than where they are needed! Recommended.
overall experience very good, little issue with weak ventilation issue in bathroom which, combined with poor shower drainage, generates bad smell unless AC in bedroom is set very low (to accelerate dry out)!
My go-to hotel in Bangkok. Nice neighborhood and only a block from the BTS. Comfortable facilities, decent gym, nice pool, friendly staff. Small problems arise but they are quickly and amicably resolved.
Great for families”
We stayed in a large executive apartment for the weekend with a family group of seven. It was a great choice for us - super comfortable and spacious, with nice facilities and a good balance of public and private space. Staff was extremely helpful. Recommended.
