So great! The staff were amazing! The owner, Fifi, everyone were so helpful and attentive.”
Everything was great! Super relaxing stay. The only thing I was unhappy about was two giant spiders that showed up in my room. But it is to be expected when you are in Cambodia in the middle of the jungle. Haha. But the staff helped with this. Thank you!

stylish bungalows near forest”
quiet, stylish bungalows, hospitality
The location of the Masada Resort is great: very close to the forest, extremely quiet and still in a walkable distance to the sea and crab market (approx. 15 minutes). The host is extremly friendly and helpful. We rented a motor bike directly from Masada resort to visit different places around Kep. The bungalow is large and lovely decorated and has a small verandah to relax. The setting of the resort is fantastic (frangipanis, tropical flowers, pool, large verandah and restaurant at the entrance, etc.). We especially liked the forest in the background. Some people complained about animals in their room: but isn't it great to observe wonderfully coloured geckos (for example) so close? We definitely enjoyed it and would return again in the future.

Good Potential but an EPIC Fail”
The setting; the concept; the potential
This resort has great potential to be a really lovely getaway but it is not run effectively. I was the only guest booked to stay the 3 nights but I was told that the owner would possibly be coming with a few friends. That didn't happen. The setting is lovely with separate bungalows, tastefully appointed but with a rustic touch. The swimming pool is an "infinity pool", it is just too bad that it isn't higher up the hill to command the view. The pool isn't very clean. Once in my room, I discovered that every corner and nook had spider webs. I could handle that and determined that the next day I would ask the cleaner to clean more thoroughly. My plan for a few days get-away fell apart as a result of the ceiling being infested with rats. I heard the rats squealing and running around as early as 5pm. I mentioned it to the guest relations guys, who laughed it off with "Oh, I guess they are excited to have you here." I figured I'd get through one night and get them to deal with it seriously the following day; fortunately, I had earplugs. The next day, the man on duty took it more seriously and proposed that I move to another bungalow. I asked for assurance that it was free of rats. I moved rooms but quickly heard rats in the roof there too. The staff began to talk about fumigating the roof but with a woven reed ceiling, that would be toxic inside the room. They then talked about rat poison, but since the rats were making their nests in the roof, they would die a horrid death there right above me. The final straw was when a stream of rat urine, issuing from the ceiling, missed my foot by about an inch. It became apparent to all of us that I would have to cut short my stay. Agoda refunded me for the extra 2 nights I had paid. If this resort was maintained well, it would really be a great place to stay. If you are willing to give it a go, make sure you ask about the rat problem and if they have really dealt with it.

Comfortable stay in the lovely area”
Staff, gardens and staff
We loved every minute of our stay at Masada. The staff were fantastic.far enough to be able to escape the beach frenzy and close enough to still be almost in town. I think that this is a great resort and they will certainly see me again!

Mr. Kim was fantastic !”
Mr Kim, cleanliness, serenity
VERY Nice place, up on the side of a mountain ridge, just under the National Park. Room was clean and simple, but very tastefully done up in Boutique jungle style. Very comfortable and clean hammocks in the front of each room, and a fabulous view of Mt Bokor. Water was very hot. Aircon good. They only provide a covering sheet and in February this was a bit too cool for night, so Mr Kim brought us a large cozy comforter; that did the trick. He also has the services of a Mr. Sok, a very honest broker of a Tuk Tuk drive that took up all around the National Park and the town late into the evening for $10. Sok's English and knowledge of the area was very good and he even showed us "a secret entrance" to the King's Summer Home after closing time. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. Word of caution though, outside of Mr. Kim the rest of the staff possesses almost no English skills nor common sense. Do all your dealings with Mr. Kim only. T'was a wonderful and very quiet, serene 3 day stay.
