Nice Atmosphere, great staff. ”
We only stayed here for a night, but I would totally recommend this hostel. The rooms are spacious, the common area is really cozy and the staff is super friendly! There is also free parking which is great. I guess the only downside is that the place is hard to reach without a car, but if you have one, it's an awesome place to stay ;)

A classic youth hostel with very friendly and kind staff member.”
Hostel is very clean with nice spacious common areas. A good place to be based for seeing the Lake Mashu area. Unfortunately we didn't have a car, which makes it difficult since Teshikaga is very small town with hardly any public transport and the hostel is just a bit on the edge of town. But we were very lucky because Dai-san was very kind to help drive us to the supermarket and trail start etc. Having him spend time with us was really nice and made the stay memorable. Thank you Dai-san.

If you're self driving, this hostel is about 5-10 minutes to Mashu lake 1st observation deck. The owner is hospitality, speaks fluent English. He will introduce visitors to each other. The hostel atmosphere is good.

bad location, great food, bad hostel”
So, the food was great, but that was the only good thing about it. It's in the middle of nowhere, so you really need a car (there is no sport activities accessible on foot), the rooms overlook the common room, so it's too noisy to sleep until everyone has gone to their room. In the dormitories, the rooms are too small, there isn't even enough space to open a suitcase. The staff doesn't speak at all English and they don't even have an information booklet translated in English. There is also a compulsory charge for the bathroom, that is added on arrival. The staff refused to prepare a packed breakfast even though I had paid for breakfast.

Good location but dirty toilet”
We booked a room very last minute and the owner/staff was friendly and nice about it. The price was a bit expensive but August is a peak season. (Shoganai) Overall the facility is clean, but the toilet was sooo dirty and stinky. I couldn't stay there for 30 seconds even with a mask!! Also, our room has a smell from the toilet although we can't smell it in the hall. This place is recommended for people who are looking for a place in a last minute or have no option other than this.

ユースが初めての人には戸惑いが有るかも知れません。タオルもテレビも無い宿泊所ですがユース本来の姿を経験した人にはOＫです。初めての方には補足説明してあげた方が 喜ばれると思います。スタッフの方たちは大変親切に対応していただきました。

お部屋もお風呂もトイレも多少古さはありますが、シンプルでお掃除が行き届いていて使っていて気持ちいいです。お値段お安く、部屋も広く、のんびり休めました。申し分ないです。 宿の方も親切です。

摩周湖の最も近くで、摩周湖に何度も行くのであれば、ここは最高の宿になると思います。 スタッフも優しくフレンドリーで話しやすく、困った時でも相談しやすいです。 また、摩周湖の写真が壁に貼ってあり、とても綺麗でした。
