More than worth of its price”
Staying in Matahari Lodge was one of the best choices I've made during 4 days KL trip. All staff were so freindly and nice, especially one of them eager to help me to set up my itinerary in KL(Thanks a lot, Juni!). And plus, its location is walking distance from public transportation spots, such as Pasar Seni LRT station (+ Kuala Lumpur KTM station + Go KL Bus stop), Masjid Jamek LRT station, and Pudu Raya Bus terminal. And its location is also walking distance from Chinatown, Merdeka Square, Little India, and Textile Museum. One more, there's Seven Eleven right beside of the Matahari Lodge. If you are looking for some budget hotel with convenient location and friendly staff, Matahari Lodge won't dissapoint you.

Great to,Return !”
This was my third or fourth stay at Matahari Lodge, The location --just across from Pasar Seni train stop, two stops from KL Sentral, doors away from a 7-11, down the block from two Indian restos, and a short walk to Central Market and Chinatown --that's just Great !! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. There was a leak from the ceiling, and I was moved into another room, in less than five minutes ! When I needed a'ride at 3am, the staff came downstairs, got a taxi, and made sure the rate to the KLIA2 buses at KlSentral was only MR 15, even tho it was wayyyy early ! The breakfast is typical: white bread (toast), margarine, PNB, and jelly -- with 24hr drinking water, tea, coffee available. I recommend Matahari Lodge to other budget travelers, and will definitely stay there again, when in Kl. Thank You !

Great location, very friendly staff, great deal”
We randomly selected the Matahari lodge, well basically it was available and inexpensive. We checked in late, which was no problem. Location was very easy to get to from a 1 to 2 minute walk from rail station. It is in Chinatown which means lots of street shopping and food venders. Very near markets. The rooms are clean and simple. We stayed in both the dorm and a double room. The showers have warm water and are pretty clean. There is air-con in the hallway and a fan in each room that circulates the cool air into your room. The free breakfast is just toast with butter, jam, peanut butter. However, the tea and coffee are free. They also sell beer, water, sodas, etc... and the prices are cheaper than 7/11. The common room is inviting and the staff is friendly and very helpful. For the money it was perfect for us. We have stayed here a couple of times and recommend it.

Friendly+Helpful Staff--Glad I returned!!”
This was my second stay at Matahari Lodge, and I am glad I returned. I was recognised and remember by staff as well as long-term lodgers... if felt god to be there. The rooms are CLEAN, the size is OK, there are no windows, so it supports a good sleep. The Breakfast is traditional Malay for guesthouses: bread (toast), Planta margarine, jam, Peanut Butter (actually few guesthouses will provide the PNB !!), coffee, tea. Matahari provides the coffee and tea all day, and there's even free drinking water! ---with a HOT water dispenser for Ramen, Soup, whatever. The staff printed out my boarding passes, assisted with phone calls, and going outside to grab a taxi--at 3AM !! There are two desktop computers for use, as well as plugs (with adapters) on the table in the TV area, for charging devices. The Kasturi Walk and Chinatown are within 5 min walk, as is the Pasar Seni LRT stop, which is only one stop from KLSentral. I really like Matahari Lodge, and recommend it for fellow Budget Travellers.

Clean private rooms and facility for a great price”
I really enjoyed my stay at Matahari Lodge. The place is very well run with friendly and helpful staff. The facility is very clean, comfortable, safe, and inviting. They have private room options for a great price. The rooms are simple, but very clean, plenty of space, comfirtable beds, and has Wifi. The rooms are kept cool with a fan that sucks in cold air from the air conditioned hallways. The shared bathrooms are very clean as well. The only drawback is that the walls are thin so you can easily hear people in the adjacent rooms. Just bring earplugs.

good for budget travelers”
I booked and paid for a double room a few days before I visited in Kuala Lumpur, but the room was actually full and the staff took me to Matahari Lodge 2. Only one room was avairable there but the bed was broken, which I didnt even care. I just needed a room to stay cuz it was middle of the night. I stayed there for 2 nights after all. As I told I've paid for a double room which was pretty expensive, and I stayed at a single room with broken bed. They didnt refund the balance, but all the staff was very nice and kind and it made me so comfortable staying there so That was OK. This is really popular and famous hotel for budget travelers around the world.

Excellent value for money!”
Would highly recommend this hostel - zero complaints! Staff were really accommodating and helpful. I had a double room with city view which was very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms and power showers also clean. Excellent location: right next to Kuala Lumpur Station, central market, and Chinatown. Jam and peanut butter at breakfast nicer than any other hostel I've stayed in in Malaysia. Only wish I had been able to stay longer!

Lovely hotel with great customer service”
Matahari Lodge is located right across the street from the Central Market. It has great clean rooms, I had a single room and hat a brillianttly firm new bed and clean linen, towel was provided. The breakfast was basic with toast and jam or peanut butter, but sufficient for a traveller. Downside would have been the distance of shared bathrooms and showers, and these facilities were not in the newest of conditions.

Handy hostel in ideal location!”
I really enjoyed my one night stay in Matahari lodge. It is seconds walk away from the bus/ train station for airport, KLCC etc. The hostel was very clean and nicely decorated. It was great to be able to have a single room for less than $10!! there was free Wi Fi, computers available, T.v with dvds and board games which was a fantastic touch for the guests. Free tea and coffee was also provided. I thought the staff were very helpful aswel for information.

Another pleasant stay here”
We have stayed at the Matahari Lodge twice before and enjoyed another pleasant stay this time. Our room was quiet and nicely decorated. Just a few minor problems which didn't affect us too much, there was a problem with the drinking water filter machine and also their printer and microwave were not working. All of these things were fine last time we stayed here. Other than that we have no complaints!

This is the best budget hostel i ever met...the toilet is clean and the room is more than what i'm expected and totally different with other budget hostel. I'm really enjoying my stay at this comfortable hostel. It is more valuable for my money and i'm surely will stay there again if i go to Kuala Lumpur and that will be my first choice to stay. But only one thing is, hopefully the hostel management show the 'qibla' arrow inside the room especially for Muslim visitor to pray. I like this hostel very much... Thank You for your excellent service...!

Great location, nice service, immaculately clean”
The Matahari Lodge is one of the cleanest hostels I've ever stayed at. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and seem to hang out and fraternize with the guests in the hostel's common space, which I thought was very cool (their English was a little limited, however, but that's not a big deal). The only complaint I have is that the dorm room I stayed in was windowless, so it's hard to wake up early in the morning if you need to.

Excellent service, clean rooms and bathrooms”
i only stayed for two nights but the staff was extra helpful even escorting me to the correct lodge after arriving at matahari lodge #2 instead of #1 at 1:30am. i liked that my room was clean even though there were no windows, so were the bathrooms which is important when they are shared. it's walking distance to many places to eat, the metro, bus service to batu caves and shopping. only con is that it is pretty loud, not that it's a party place but the walls are thin and you can hear everyone coming and going. i would stay again, right price, right place.

Matahari Lodge has a very great location, near Pasar Seni mrt, Chinatown, Petaling street, Merdeka Square, Masjid Jamek and a few bus stops. It also has free breakfast. Maybe good for short stay as some facilities are not ok and toilets are not that clean. They could improve that one.

Feels like at home”
Matahari lodge is located centrally in KL, just a few steps away from Pasar Seni LRT Station and therefore very easy to find. The rooms are not beautiful, but have a good air conditioning and are very clean. On the 3rd floor there is a common room with very social life where you can always get a chat with other travellers or just relax and watch TV. The owners made me feel like at home as they had always an open ear for every issue you had. Bathrooms are located on every floor and work very well, as well as they are clean and provide hot water for showering. Would recommend this place!

its right across the street to reach the MRT and bus station. GoKL bus is free for everyone and will drop you to all the tourist sites in Kuala Lumpur. Its in Chinatown so you can get all the chineese restaurants and shopping sites. Near central Market . Staff is friendly and the room was clean with everything i need for the day.
