Perfect Spot”
There was a delay at airport for my rental pick-ups, but the hosts of Matahari Residence graciously waited until past 9pm for my check-in and stayed in contact until then. The location is perfect; it is quiet, safe and within a residential area, but still very near the Bangsar LRT station (one stop from KL Sentral) which provides easy transportation. (It is less than 8 minutes walk, although I opted to take an Uber from the LRT station to the homestay during the late evenings as I traveled solo.) I stayed in the single room, with comfortable bed and sheets, excellent airconditioning, as well as warm showers. My accommodation also came with breakfast which I could prepare in the common kitchen just outside. I would definitely consider staying here again the next time I visit KL.

Perfect”
I stayed at Matahari Residence for nearly two weeks whilst visiting an old friend in KL - having spent a lot of time in hotels the past few months, this was really more like staying with relatives than staying in a hotel. The proprietor Pat and her husband like on the premises and went out of their way to be welcoming and good hosts - the room was excellent value for money, very close to public transport and restaurants etc, yet also in a very quiet residential neighbourhood, really a great location for me. I had a great stay here, can't fault this place for anything, and the owners were super-nice people; the perfect place to stay in KL!

Cosy home from home”
We were looking for somewhere close to a friend and the Matahari Residence was perfectly placed and priced well. Other than the fact that it is not easily identifiable from the road so taxi drivers struggle to find it, the accommodation is perfect (well ok not perfect but even Marina Bay Sands is not perfect!). Clean and tidy, we were welcomed and shown the facilities (kitchen, fridge etc.) then to our room. If you don't expect the Ritz at B&B prices then this is a GREAT place to stay in KL, easy walking distance to the nearest Metro station so easy to get about, local food vendors and of course the obligatory 7/11 nearby for all your needs.

Perfect Place with very gentle hosts”
Such a perfect clean, nice and calm place. Located very central in Bangsar. The area is absolutly calm, safe and with a little forest nearby. Forgot nearly to be in the very centre of a millions people city, as soon as I arrived. Only 1.5km from central trainstation away in a villa area. And so nice and gentle hosts. Malaysia show itself from the very best side at this hotel/guesthouse. Was here twice and would always come back. First choice to stay in Kuala Lumpur.

Great stay”
This place was a real bargain! I once stayed at a hotel at China town before with similar budget and remember the room did not even have a window and felt filthy. This time, staying at this place was very pleasant. It's located one train stop from KL Sentral(plus 10 mins walk) and in a very quiet region. Room itself was very clean and the owner was helpful.

Home away from home”
Pro: Friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness is maintained all throughout my staff, quiet Cons: Situated in a quite far area from LRT station although walkable (5 minutes to LRT Bangsar station). Suggestion: It’s best if there is a signage that says “Matahari Residence” as Grab drivers as well as first time travelers cant easily identify it. Although house number is indicated at the gate but if at night, you can miss it

A peaceful accommodation in the smack of the city”
This is one of KL's best hidden gems. The location is really strategic yet we don't feel like we are in KL as Matahari is tucked in a quiet corner of the city. The hospitality is great it almost feels like we are staying with a relative who respects privacy. If you have your car with you, you need not worry about safety too as there's ample parking. Strongly recommended!

More like an Air B&B”
Great firm comfy bed and nice duvet to sleep in after a 30hours of travel..very big pillow though. BF was toast & jam and instant coffee, a little disappointing. However, about a 5 minute walk to restaurants. More like an AirB&B. remember to ask about how to get in and out of gate as no one explained it to me and I felt trapped when I woke and wanted to go for coffee. Room is clean, ac works, slept great. A little harder to find however, about a 15 minute walk from KL Sentral

Excellent place”
Just a one night stay, chosen for location, which was 20 min walk from KL Sentral, in quiet neighbourhood. New place, tidy facilities, clean, quiet, nice open bathroom, air con. Liked it, and just a short walk downhill to places to eat, and can use LRT to get to Sentral for airport train, or taxi.

What a friendly place ”
I simply loved the atmosphere, cats and very friendly staff. The place felt like home and my room was clean and cozy. I enjoyed the facilities and the fact it's hidden in a quiet street right by KL Sentral. I will be back and already recommended it to some friends. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience!

Great way to stay”
It's a great way to stay in Kuala Lumpur, very clean location and very nice people. But keep in mind that you would be lost during a fire: no smoke detectors, no fire extinguishers, no emergency exit but barred windows all over.

My son and I stayed two nights while on vacation in KL. It was like staying in someone's house. Very well decorated, and all the comforts of home. A little far from KL Sentral, more of a residential neighborhood, but plenty of restaurants near by.

Close to KL Sentral : when you arrive at KLIA: 1) Take airport Link to KL Sentral 2) From KL Sentral , you take LRT to Bangsar Station 3)Get off the station and walk to the place for 10 min. Don't need to take cab, if you are budget traveller
