Outstanding staff, value & location in that order”
The family of the Matra Bali Guest House are humble and lovely, they can assist with cheap motorbike rental (highly recommended for Canggu area), transport, tours, surf and yoga ventures. The room is modern (fridge, tv, a/c), bed was extremely comfortable, share kitchen was handy. Most places in bali have mosquitos, I only got bitten once over 7 days, I would suggest lighting some citronella candles if they are an issue. The street is lined with delicious healthy raw food, vegan and vegetarian cafes, supermarkets, fuel and very close to the amazing Desa Seni Yoga resort. Taking into consideration the hotel was rated 1 star and the price was amazing value for money, I highly recommend this humble guest house for budget travellers.

Amazing staff. Amazing facilities.”
We accidentally booked the wrong nights and we found this out when we arrived at 8pm after a long day of travel. Oy. They didn't have space for us at this guest house, but they had an opening with another Matra guesthouse and not only did the accommodate us, but they offered to drive us over. We hadn't eaten since breakfast and once we arrived at the other guest house (Matra Bali Surf Camp), a member of the staff there offered to give us a ride on the back of his motor bike to pick up dinner. Anyway, you get the picture - we found the folks with Matra to be incredibly kind, generous and welcoming and we would highly recommend staying at any of their guest houses.

Lovely homestay with spacious rooms”
We had a very nice stay at Matra Bali Guest House. The room was spacious, clean and with a big bathroom. The owner of the Guest House was very helpful. It's close to the beach and surrounded by great restaurants.

Amazing friending staff and good value :-)”
The staff are amazing - there was a problem with my booking but they handled it professionally to find a resolution The guest house is in a great location with lots of cafes etc around. You can do yoga at the back of the guesthouse - the one class I did was great and in an idealic location. They also have a surf guest house which is in a less central location but good in my view to be amongst locals and rice fields - you can hire bycycles and scooters cheaply. It took me 10-15 mins to cycle to the guest house from the surf camp Would stay again for sure!!

First week in Canggu”
Experienced my first week in Canggu in this guesthouse and it was AMAZING :) Loved the atmosphere .. everybody is soooo nice and for 15eu a day you get a private room with a big bed and a private bathroom. Was so nice, thank you very much to all the staff of Matra's Guesthouse. And they have a super cute puppy named Bella <3 Furthermore I did rent a scooter for one month for a pretty fair price! I can really recommend this guesthouse to you

Huge room, Yoga Centre next door ”
Had a lovely stay, room and bed were massive. Location a bit away from beach but near to some nice restaurants (Satu Satu & Peleton) and chances are you'll rent a scooter which you can do at hotel,50IDR. There's a beginner friendly yoga centre next door, 100IDR per class. Canggu is a fabulous place full of great places to eat (Crate, Nude, Cafe Veda, Canteen, Shady Shack)

Awesome”
It was a family run guesthouse and the people are lovely. Place was kept clean and it was a really peaceful place to be in. It was so easy to get all the awesome food from all the cafes along the roadside. Green ginger, butter, eskimo and bungalow living among my favourites. Its more of like home. They have villa-like room and bathroom plus a spacious balcony. Also a lil kitchen you can actually use. I would definitely come back again. Anyway, its about 10mins ride to berawa beach and very near to canggu plaza/club as well.

Breakfast great, room ok”
The Matra Bali GH had a great breakfast served in their kitchen area (omelette, juice, coffee & fruit). The room was big but basic and partly in need of repair. All in all staying there was quiete good, even though the ratings online are pushed by the staff offering free yoga class/ beer/ 20% discount for the next booking if guests write a good review.

Super Guest House close to Canggu surfing beach”
The family members at the guesthouse are very friendly and tried hard to be helpful despite the language barrier. Apart from the room, there is a fairly complete kitchen for the guests, with pots, pans, dishes, kglasses and utensils, so one can save on food if on a budget. Coffee, tea and sugar also provided, along with purified water.

Good value for 3 nights stay ”
(+): Good location in a more quiet part of Canggu, which we liked. Close walking distance to sunny cafe and Vinny's Warung, which were very good. Close scooter distance to the beach. A/c was very good and having a fridge was nice. Breakfast came included with our stay as we chose this option on Agoda. We had the omelette and it was good. (-): Although they have a few pups that live there and one was barking constantly through the night around 4am. It didn't seem to bother them as they didn't try to quiet the dog. The bathroom had a foul odor that seemed to never go away, this might be the plumbing? There was also ants in the bathroom but they really didn't bother us. Mosquitos were able to get in as the sliding doors don't shut tight.

Good view,nice staff”
We stayed for 3 nights. The staff was helpful and friendly. they also took us to the nearby beach! The view from 3 floor was beautiful, all riceterrace view. Only disappointed was the taxi driver who pocked me up at airport. The hotel offerd us the price from airport to hotel as 250000rp from airport but the driver asked us 300000rp...and extra few..

Great Place”
On first arrival, I was immediately offered a coffee and some local snacks. These are simple but pretty rooms, very small air conditioning and a mosquito net that is necessary. Loved the outdoors bathroom, and the practicality - we could rent a scooter for a good rate right there, and there's a little shared kitchen area outside. The rooms don't close to mosquitoes do get inside, and one needs to use the mosquito net over the bed. While that looks romantic, it's not really my thing.

Beautiful stay amazing yoga!”
Loved it here! The staff is so so helpful and the rooms are beautiful, great comfy bed and nice standing shower wow. Very great location only 20 minutes walking to the beach and so many great places to eat just right outside or nearby! The yoga is fantastic and the scenary to the Shala is incredible. Take as many yoga classes as possible! Only thing is that when it rains you kind of get a flooding in the entrance way so expect to have your ankles soaked but other than that it's completely amazing! No problems at all

Great guesthouse! ”
This place was great - clean room, good wifi, good air con, really comfortable bed. Its nearby to some lovely cafes, but they also rent mopeds if you want to go further afield. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and they have some lovely little dogs! Breakfast was substantial and there's a kitchen to use if you want, plus free water refills. They also do yoga! Honestly couldn't fault the place.

Comfortable room and friendly staff”
We enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Some nice cafes and restaurants along the street and about a 5 minute bike ride to the beach. The only issue was that the particular room we had was quite dark and did not get enough natural light in. The staff were friendly, laidback and very helpful.

Very nice and welcoming guesthouse”
We felt at home right after we arrived at this guesthouse. The room was comfortable and cozy and the bathroom with its sort of "open-roof"-shower was also clean and nice. The location of the guesthouse was fine for us even though it's a couple of minutes by motorbike to the beach or some of the cafes and so on. All in all I can totally recommend this accommodation!

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very impressed with the value for money we received. Very big rooms, super comfortable beds as well as being clean and modern. We owners here are very warm welcoming and honest. We were very happy we found this place and will definatly be staying here again.

The room di stayed in didnt look like any of the rooms in the proffesional photos and was not nearly as nice. Perhaps they're updating the rooms and i got an old one. That being said, decent room for the money. They have yoga on the property and the staff were very nice.
