Amazing service and perfect location”
This was by far the best hotel we've stayed in to date. We arrived for our stay in Hanoi exhausted after 18 hours of flight. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. The location was perfect, just 2 mins away from the Hoan Kiem Lake. We could walk around the Old Quarter to discover lots of attractive destination without getting a taxi. This could save us a lot of money already. The breakfasts were very good and varied. Room was clean and quite spacious. The hotel just finished installing the gym, the spa and the swimming pool on the Top Floor. The best thing about May De Ville Old Quarter Hotel was the staffs. They were accommodating and helpful to us throughout our stay from giving directions, booking tours to Sapa & Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Mekong Delta. Keep up the good work May De Ville Old Quarter. My family will definitely come back next year! Highly recommended!!!!

Lovely hotel at a great location”
We stayed at May de ville old quarter hotel from 10th to 12th February. It was during the Vietnamese New Year so it was very busy. However we were still greeted very warmly by a nice man at reception where someone was waiting to take our luggage for us as soon as we walked through the door. Our room was very nice, one of the best we had stayed in after travelling in Vietnam for almost 2 weeks. There was a free laptop to use in the room, as well as free internet downstairs at reception, a big flat screen t.v with cable, big spacious twin beds, fridge and 2 free waters per day, safety box, bath robes, bath tub and bathroom essentials. The breakfast was lovely and it was all included in the price of our stay so it was excellent value for your money. If we were to go back to Hanoi we would definitely stay at May de ville again.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great location”
this was our first trip to vietnam and we loved hanoi so much we will be going back and will stay at the may de ville old quarter hotel again. it was a little oasis in the middle of the craziness of the old quarter and perfectly situated for exploring the museums and temples in the main city of hanoi on foot and, of course, the evening walk around the lake and a beer in one of the bars over looking the traffic mayhem at rush hour - highly recommended. it was cold and rather damp during our stay which coming directly from koh samui was a bit of a shock to the system. 32deg down to 12deg is quite a bit, so do check the weather forecast before you go. we had and were prepared. one important point, we booked a room at the back of the hotel, so it was really quiet. i understand that the traffic noise can be disturbing at night in the front rooms.

Exceptional service in the Old Quarter”
this hotel is by far the best of the several we have tried in the old quarter over the past couple years. the location is perfect for wandering around the lake and the surrounding area. i can't say enough about the staff; their friendliness and efforts to please us were amazing. the honeymoon suite on the 7th floor is massive compared to the rooms usually available in the price range. sitting out on the balcony at sunset, just high enough above the street noise, offered a great view to relax and enjoy a cold drink. the front desk staff booked our necessary onward travel and hired the taxi at cheaper rates than out on the street. we had a delightful stay at the may de ville old quarter hotel in hanoi.

Awesome hotel”
we stayed at may de ville old quarter hotel on 12th and 13th february. got there at half 7 am by an organise transfer through the hotel. we had asked to check in early when we booked so the lady at reception offered us an upgraded room which was ready for us. someone was waiting to take our luggage for us as soon as we walked through the door. our room was one of the best we had stayed in after travelling for nearly 4 months and cost us altogether! free laptop use in the room, big flat screen tv, big spacious double bedroom, use of fridge and 2 free waters per day, safety box, bath robes, bath tub and bathroom essentials. the female receptionist in particular was very helpful and knowledable throughout the stay and on or last evening we waited for hours for our night bus to come and he kindly phoned them more than once and kept us up to date. breakfast was lovely despite people saying there wasn't a lot of variety. there was 2 types of cereal, eggs to order, bacon, ham, sausages, noodles, choissants, toast, fruit, juice, tea and coffee all included in the price of our stay would definitely stay here again!

Such a pleasent surprise”
first let me say, i did not end up staying in this hotel – but close enough, so i will continue. when my 15 year old son and i arrived, very late, they said there was no power so they had moved us to their sister hotel two blocks away. we will never know if really they had no power or if they had given our confirmed room away. it was already 2am (late flight/long visa process/long process getting sim/difficult negotiation with taxi/taxi got lost). so, unhappy as we were, back into the taxi for the 2 block/15 minute ride (taxi got lost again). the new hotel is called may de ville backpacker hostel. of course my first reaction was…oh no! but the lobby is bright and clean, and the people really nice. it was also late; i was exhausted. they assured me that the room was the same quality as the “hotel”, and offered us the family room. i think if you go to the site for the two hotels, the rooms all look the same. and this room was even better than in the pictures. good sized, a large (king?) and a good size twin bed. large flat screen tv. bright lights, lots of powe outlets, fridge, large safe……flawless wifi. very helpful, very friendly staff. and did i mention the location? at 2am everything is closed so it looks like a grubby old city. wake up in the morning and it is teaming with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops all on your doorstep. though it is on an ally and a bit hard to find the first time, it is right where you want to be in the middle of the old city. sure there are lots of packpackers. but these all seemed to be such nice people, from about 14-65, from austrailia, the us, germany….. in fact we extended our stay in the hotel two extra days as we were so comfortable, enjoying exploring so much and recognized that it was such great value. our next stop is the 5-star hanoi opera hilton, because my wife is arriving, but given it’s less desirable location and how great the may de villes are, i am wondering why.

Ideal location with a touch of class”
the may de ville is a boutique hotel with a touch of class and excellent value for money. highly recommended for it's perfect location in the centre of the old quarter with all the attractions of traditional bustling street life, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, historic venues and only a few minutes walk from the renowned hoan kiem lake. may de ville is ideally placed for the visitor to capture the true flavor of hanoi's traditional character. the hotel boasts of a high standard of comfort and quality at a reasonable price. the rooms are well presented, clean and well serviced with flat screen tv, wifi, mini bar, security safe and even an internet hard wired laptop computer on the table. the bathrooms are well organized with enough surface space to put all one's toiletries and sundries conveniently next to the generous basin. the shower and water pressure is more than adequate with fully controllable hot and cold water. the service is good and staff very pleasant and friendly with the informality of a family run hotel. the restaurant is small and a little understated, however the buffet breakfast is adequate with enough choice to see you through the morning which is all you need, as there are plenty of restaurants and eating facilities in the immediate vicinity to satisfy most tastes. overall, the may de ville is an excellent choice for a comfortable and convenient hotel and despite being a little above the average price, is still excellent value for money.

A western standard accommodation”
I am a repeated customer with May de Ville Old Quarter for a total of nearly 20 days since Dec. 2014. Hotel facilities & staff make me feel like home and it is located right in the fun part of Hanoi, having seen so many westerners who also live in the same hotel with me, I don't mind to say its room quality is on a par with US Hampton Inn with the breakfast buffet way better than the US budget hotels. Will repeat to stay again on my 2015 year end tour.

Wonderful Old Quarter Hotel”
The very nice May De Ville is in the heart of the Old Quarter, minutes from several restaurants, convenient stores, many shops, and Hoam Kiem Lake. Although nearly every road in the Old Quarter is hectic, the hotel's location was on a lesser trafficked road, which was nice. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. Decent breakfast buffet with good selection of Western and Vietnamese foods. Premium room was beautiful with ample space, great view, nice bathroom, and fantastic bed comparatively. Highly recommend this hotel. Do bring earplugs though, as city comes to life early and goes down late.

Lovely Experience!”
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days during my second trip to Hanoi. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at the May De Ville. Although my designated airport pickup was not there when my fight arrived, I was lucky to run into a very kind man who knew the manager at the May De Ville and drove me there for the standard price. When I arrived, I was greeted by name, and the staff had even allowed my boyfriend into the room earlier to surprise me when I entered. They had played along and kept everything a secret. Our room was beautiful, spacious, had a computer, and the bathroom had a large shower/bathtub combination that was quite relaxing. Breakfast was a nice variety of traditional and Western cuisine, and individual items could be cooked upon request. The staff was friendly and professional. Terrific value for the money! Perfect location!

Good value ”
We stayed at the May De Ville twice during our visit to Hanoi. The Hotel was in a great location in the old quarter. We were given an enormous family room on the first visit with fabulous air conditioning. The room overlooked the street. The breakfast was well catered. Kids enjoyed cooling off in the pool while we watched on with cocktail in hand.

Great little hotel”
We really enjoyed our stay at the May De Ville Old Quarter Hotel. The rooms were a good size and the beds were extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were great with a good selection of foods. The location was terrific as it was close to the lake. We stayed 2 nights before going to Halong Bay and returned for an additional night. On our return, we had an upgrade to a suite. Would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in the middle of the Old Quarter”
We had a one night stay at the May De Ville but we loved every moment of it. It's right in the middle of the old quarter so it's nestled in the busy lane ways, however once you walk inside you feel relaxed and very welcome. We stayed in the top room which had a great balcony overlooking the Old Quarter - it was a perfect spot to relax with a few drinks and enjoy our first night in Vietnam. Overall - the only problem was that we didn't book here longer!

Good quality rooms, shame about the breakfast”
For the price this is one of the best hotels in the old quarter. We stayed one night after a Halong bay excursion after staying in another hotel in the same area in Hanoi. For the same price May de Ville was far superior, the staff were friendly and attentive, the rooms were very clean and comfortable and we had a view looking over the city. Just across the road is an excellent roof top restaurant which overlooks the may de ville hotel, lake and rest of the city. The only down side was that because there was no door or screen separating the lobby from the restaurant there were several fly's covering the buffet breakfast.

Awesome stay”
May De Ville has not failed me again for my stay this round. The receptionist even remembered me from my stay in August 2013. The room they provided me was big and clean. They also provided me with an iron and board at my request even though it was late at night. They have expanded the hotel and are still expanding, so the corridors would still be dusty. The staff are really friendly and helpful. May De Ville would still be my 1st choice hotel for a stay in Hanoi.

May de Ville hotel is a clean western hotel with nice rooms. I showed late so they gave me free upgrade. Room with large flatscreen TV and DVD player. Bathroom is updated with new fixtures. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is in the middle of Old Quater and close to Hoan Kiem lake. Old Quater is a wonderful place in Hanoi. Breakfast is very good as well.

43 Gia Ngu”
The 43 Gia Ngu May De Ville was great. My friend and I stayed here for 1 night in July and the service and meals we received were first class! It really is a brilliant hotel and would recommend to all when staying in the old quarter of Hanoi!

Lovely hotel with a fantastic breakfast.”
There are 2 or 3 hotels with the name 'May de Ville' in old quarter, so make sure to have the street name written down. The shower was spacious and much better than many other hotels in South East Asia! The rooms are small but very clean. Excellent value for money.

one word - PERFECT ”
Perfect 10, friendly staffs Hoan, Boi Doi, Lo Ngo and Nam. Good food, clean room, near to everything to see under the sun and moon. Will surely be back again to stay. My advice to ALL haters of May De Ville Hotel, go find a 5 star hotel to satisfy your high standard socialite demand. The problem with you is you have NO money to stay in 5 star hotel and settled with May De Ville wit voluminous complaints. Thank you May De Ville for making our stay memorable.

Nice hotel in a good location ”
The May De Ville is a lovely hotel in a good location. There is a K Circle store opposite the hotel to grab cheap beer and snacks. We were initially in a room on level 3, where it smelt very mouldy. I advised the staff and they were able to provide an incense lamp for the night. We were then upgraded the following day to a room on level 10 - great room and no mouldy smell. The western breakfast is great. The pool is good. We also booked an overnight Halong bay cruise where we were able to exchange 1 nights accommodation for return airport transfers - not too bad since the accommodation was non refundable. I would stay here again - as long as the room didn’t have a mouldy smell
