Beautiful hotel; one little quibble!”
We selected this hotel to ease into the beginning of our 3 week trip to Bali and it’s quite possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed in across all my years of globetrotting! The hotel itself is beautifully designed and laid out, particularly the landscaping of the grounds which harmonise so well with the local environment - it’s a magical place. We opted for a deluxe room which as spacious and clean, modern and well designed with a gorgeous big bath. The hotel was quiet and never seemed crowded so it was easy to chill out. The hotel had magnificent grounds with two infinity pools looking out into the “jungle” and paddy fields. We particularly enjoyed the small infinity pool at the bottom of the grounds accessible down steps or lift. The view here was so lush and green with a waterfall and river running through it - it was a totally immersive experience and so relaxing. Buffet breakfast was fantastic in terms of quality and it was lovely sitting in the covered open area of the restaurant looking out over the gardens. We only had a couple of negatives to submit; firstly we chose this hotel specifically for its tennis court as we are keen players. When we arrived we were told we would have to pay extra to book and use the court even though we required no coach, and we had brought our own racquets/balls. It just seems excessive at a hotel of this quality and stay price , that guests should pay extra for something that is listed as a facility. We’ve never come across this before and it takes the shine off the stay a little. Unfortunately, I slipped over whilst playing tennis on our final morning (nothing to do with the courts, just my unbalanced play!). I fractured my wrist and required urgent medical attention so the resident nurse was sent to look after me, who wrapped my wrist and gave me painkillers until I could be transported to local hospital. Whilst the hotel staff were helpful in getting their shuttle car to drive us the short distance the
Dear Fiona, Thank you very much for three night stay with us and for sharing this nice review. I am very happy to know you enjoyed your entire stay and to hear you recovered from the accident at tennis court. We were shocked when this happened on the day you checked out. However I was grateful to know Gina, The Resort Manager and all team including the hotel nurse gave a quick response and brought you to the hospital. Again thank you for this compliment, we will never forget. We charge the tennis at a very reasonable cost, this is only to cover our maintenance expenses. I am sorry this extra charge disappointed you. In Ubud, only 2 hotels have the tennis court in their premises including Maya Ubud. If you revisit Bali, please stay with us again and perhaps to play tennis. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Sincerely, Romy Anggara Resort Manager
Green/misty /heaven pool/fresh Air:feel young again ”

A beautiful relaxing resort ”
Beautiful grounds, great staff would definitely come again. Only cons - standard rooms are a little ordinary for the price and food was not quite as good as other places around Ubud. Also bedding was not great quality.
Dear Arnu, Thank you for staying at Maya Ubud and giving us a constructive feedback. I am sadden to know our room, food and bed did not meet your expectation. However I am glad to hear you like the resort surrounding and our green lush landscape. if you some back and stay again with us, we will not let you down. Perhaps you will like our new premier villa with the forest view. Your return is always welcome. Sincerely Romy Anggara Resort Manager
Beautiful, tranquil setting.”
Loved the pool, nature walk along the river, breakfast, afternoon tea, happy hour, spectacular hotel grounds and spacious, clean bedroom with a lovely view. All the staff were friendly and helpful, except one, who wouldn't phone a local taxi for me, when requested, on my departure. (The hotel's transfer fee to airport was 780k and local taxis are only 300k.) It's funny how one small gesture can spoil what was up until the last day, a fabulous holiday.
An oasis of elegance and tranquility”
This was my first visit to Maya Ubud and I was very impressed with the facility, as well as the level of personalised service. Maya Ubud location and facilities is one of it's kind, it's truly an oasis of elegance and tranquility in the heart of Ubud. The spa location at the Spa complex is truly unique and very much surrounded by nature. The view of the inner courtyard when I did my morning run is truly majestic.
10++++ very impressed with the property. Really beautiful grounds. Quiet and secluded.”
The staff was very friendly and nice. The property is absolutely gorgeous w jungle mountain and river views. The food at the cafe is great. The main dining restaurant has an excellent breakfast but the dinner food (we ate there twice) was just average. This is one of my new favorite hotels. The spa was also A++
Dear Elaine, Many thanks for your great review. We are happy to learn various positive feedback from you. However, we are rather disappointed that your dinner at our restaurant were not up to your liking. When you are back to stay with us, we will offer you our signature dishes. Your return is always welcome. Best Regards Romy Anggara Resort Manager
Really wonderful hotel”
We love this hotel it's our 2nd time back! Amazing spa, pool and activities. The best thing about the hotel has to be the service, they really make sure that all your needs are met and way beyond expectations! While there I had problem sleeping because of their light curtains and they switch to dark curtains for us. I casually asked for mangos in the morning breakfast and they actually found some for me. I can't say enough about this hotel, will be back again!
A definite Thumbs Up!”
Awesome place for couples to enjoy nature and peaceful surroundings with great food & service!
This place is perfect, extremely beautiful and ideal to relax. The reception was great, very friendly staff, cozy guest rooms, impressive pools, meals and exquisite drinks. I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. Definitely the best choice of our trip to Bali and simply the best experience. Thank you May Ubud.
Been staying at this hotel over and over again for years and it just keeps getting better! The amazing staff make it all the more better by even remembering repeat guests by name! great spa and beautiful swimming pools too!
2nd time in Maya Ubud”
This was our 2nd time and the resort looked as good as the last time which as 7 years ago. The staff quickly recognized that we are on our 2nd visit and figured we are on our anniversary and arranged for a surprise cake which was kind of them. The service was a bit of hit and miss, this is probably due to high season with lot of guests. The resort is huge and lot of things to do. The food options are good as well.
Great getaway, great location and services.Thumbup”
It was my second time stay and we simply love it. Gotten free upgrade to deluxe room and great size room. The resort was very wonderful and felt calm and relaxing. Good friendly staffs and enjoyed my stay there,
I arrived with my husband to this hotel to attend a conference, but I did not expect a restful get away even with the meeting in between. We got upgraded to the garden villa. It's a little hut with a living are and a nice bath tub big enough for two. The bed was inviting and very comfortable, the room has air-conditioning and also a ceiling fan. The breakfast has a wide selection. We stayed for 3 nights, 1st nite was in room service, the delivery was quick and food was still hot. The 2nd night was a Saturday nite, it was a dinner with a Balinese Dance performance. The performance was really good but I cant say the same about the food. It was a very poor attempt of Thai cuisine. On the 3rd nite, we decided to try the teppanyaki & we were not disappointed, we were well entertained by the chef with his juggling act of pepper & salt shakers & the clinging of the fork & knife. On the Sunday morning, my husband & I ventured on to the nature walk path on our own, we took about 1 hour to complete the route & really enjoyed the waterfall, the trees & plenty of Skink (lizards). The path is made up of steps & stone pathways. I recommend proper footwear as the steps nearer the waterfall could get slimy & slippery. I spent 2 hours at the spa, I tried the massage, scrub & bath. I recommend only the massage. I almost screamed in shock when the therapist applied the cold scrub & yogurt on my body. It was not comfortable for me. The flower bath was nice. Make your appointment before 5pm. I was there from 5-7pm, it became very dark by 6.30pm & the insects were attracted to the lights in the room. I had to get out of my bath sooner than I liked. We had to leave early the next morning to Kuta for another meeting, the checkout was speedy and the taxi was already waiting for us. So I would come back & spend more days here & would sign up for more programs like the cycling and yoga.
Pure Serenity and stunning setting”
We had one of the Deluxe Pool Villas with River View. They are totally private and yet with an open view into the river valley (you cannot really see the river, but hear it. The set up of the spa area/second pool/river cafe is really amazing. The gardens are lush and arranged along the valley slope. I really recommend to plan AT LEAST one full day without leaving the place (but you can easily spend a week just enjoying it).
Excellent stay and enjoyed a lot here”
It was amazing staying here, and highly recommended which worthwhile the money. Fast check in and out, very good customer services. Excellent room sizes and bath, good spa and amazing view facing the nature and rivers. Free tea time at 4-5pm with good choices of cakes and coffee/tea or some other drinks. Happy hours at bar 6-8pm were 50% discount, overall food was good. Enjoyed the pools and nature walk. They provide shuttle bus to go town every hour till 5pm, if you miss the 5pm bus from town, you have to pay for the taxi to return.
Nice and Comfort”
I spent only one day because I had meeting in Kuta and early morning flight to Singapore. Hotel is in Ubud where a bit far from airport. My cousin who live in Bali recommended me to stay here, and my wife and I were very satisfied.
Relaxing hotel great for young kids”
Stayed for three nights with two small kids. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, the hotel is very well kept and with wonderful grounds. The kids pool is good for toddlers as quite well shaded. Yoga pavilion and free yoga class in mornings also good. Breakfast buffet was very good as was food at dinner.
Paradise in the spiritual heart of Bali”
i stayed at the maya ubud richly as myrdal hurls of choice in ubud, the uma ubud and coo shambhala resorts were both fully booked. it was a wonderful decision. the maya ubud is a stunning hotel with natural folate, waterfalls, pavilions, pools, bridges all set in a fantasy paradise on earth setting. loved the service, the upgrade from a room to a villa, and the wonderful food served in the hotel. didn't want to leave and will certainly return next time.
Great Hotel Choice to Relax and Escape the City”
Maya Ubud is a very good choice if what you're looking for is to escape the hustle bustle of city life and to relax in Bali's center for arts and culture, Ubud. Maya Ubud's staff will welcome you warmly the moment you arrive, asking you to wait on the seating area while they take care of your check-in, making you comfortable with hot towels and exotic juice welcome drink. The room is spacious and comfortable. The highlight would be the hotel's provided activities: yoga in a semi outdoor room, pilates, tennis hitting partners, and a lot of other activities. You will surely get out of here with your body and mind relaxed and refreshed.
Great, Quiet Place for a Couple”
We only had 2 days of stay in Bali and we decided to pick someplace quiet. Then we found this hotel after reading many reviews online. The hotel is located in Ubud, a very quiet and high end place in Bali. The service is great. The staffs are friendly and very polite. Overall it was a good experience and we will recommend this place.
