Absolutely FANTASTIC!”
We totally LOVED our stay! The bungalow had everything we needed, A/C, mosquito net and a two step walk to the most beautiful beach I have ever seen! The nights were quiet, there was a live performer on some nights and that music could be heard but not later than 10pm. (The guy was fabulous, best hope he is performing during your stay! :) ) Since the bungalow is not completely sealed there were the occasional mosquitos, but it did not bother us due to the net over our bed, also since the bungalow was a little open air the sounds of the surrounding nature could be heard inside, which was nice. The staff was lovely, they were so attentive and caring. The foos at the restaurant was fabulous, be sure to try the chicken in garlic and pepper. Will be returning most definitely!! Tip: Also try Koh Ngai camping, lousy camping bur great food!!

Great hotel with the best beach in koh ngai ”
Breakfast is great.. much better than over-rated Fantasy resort. Fantasy resort is crowded and noisy. Mayalay Resort has the best beach as it has the least rocks which make us easy to swim without stamping our feet on the rocks. The villas are provided with kettle and coffee tea.. and they provided us lots of towels. Mayalay Resort know how to take care of the guests. Even its breakfast is much more delicious than fantasy resort. We really prefer staying at Mayalay Resort than Fantasy Resort. Fantasy resort is over rated and crowded with guests.

A slice of paradise (albeit an expensive one)”
Mayalay Beach Resort is ideally located on the sandy white southern end of Koh Ngai just footsteps from one of the most picturesque beaches imaginable. Everything about the resort is perfectly fine, and we were happy and content with our short stay. Having said that (like everything on the island) it is just priced through the roof for what it is. I can't speak to the quality of other accommodation on the island as to whether this is comparatively good value for money or not, but you are certainly paying a premium just for being on the island. The room had good air-con, a cold mini-fridge, hot water for the shower, a couple of deck chairs out the front, a mosquito net for the bed (which you will absolutely need). The included breakfast was of a reasonable variety, but for the money, probably should have been more extensive. Surprisingly, snorkel equipment is not free to borrow. Still, if money is no object, I can definitely recommend this place for the view and seclusion alone.

Fantastic location and great rooms”
Koh Ngai is a very quiet island, so if you want to relax this hotel is perfect. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, air con, fridge, western toilets, decent shower. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Spa is very good. The snokerling just off the beach was also good. The food here is very god but is one of the more expensive places to eat on this island.

Paradise”
This resort and Koh Ngai is just paradise! The staff is sooo professional, you would think you are not even in Thailand. The girls at reception and at the restaurant are so nice and lovely and they speak very good English. A big thank you to the workers as well who helped us taking a lizard our of our bungalow. I will definately go back there.

peace and quite”
our last 5 days out of a 03 week trip to thailand was intended to be something special and it certainly was during our stay at the "mayalay" . we opted fo the beach front sea maya and were rewarded with room, fully air con and seperate fan with large bed and spacious bathroom, cleaned every day and free water and juises stocked in the fridge. for those that enjoy the life of pamper they need look no further than the "spa" with its excelent comprehensive his and hers treatment menu, the restaurant served an excellent breakfast and value lunch and evening meals , the beach is clean and also has other resorts close at hand if you wish to venture out . the management team were helpfull and staff very attentive at all times ...a place i would concider revisiting

Beautiful location”
A real escape! There isn't much to do except swim or have a massage or eat in Koh Ngai. I loved the beach. Its beautiful and the resort is nicely located in a central sandy part of the beach. We swam out from the hotel and saw some interesting fish. The reef is a short walk away down the beach. Room was really simple but spacious. Air-con worked Well. No TV. Wifi (weak) only in the lobby/ restaurant. The resort Shop is over priced.: 60 baht for water. Go to the Shop at the camp ground (5mins walk) or Fantasy resort where Water and other snacks aré much cheaper. Spa was good and only slightly moré expensive than neighbouring competitors. Staff were friendly and warm towards our 3 Year old but operate in islandér pace. Clearing away plates was slow.

Beautiful Scenery on a secluded island oasis ”
Ko Ngai is quiet, beautiful but with few amenities. You are pretty much limited to the hotel facilities and a small mini mart. The Mayalay tries hard with breakfast but often runs out of something’s. The staff are very sweet and when our daughter became violently ill from eating something at another restaurant they were quick with medicine. We had a back bungalow that’s was very quiet and clean. Ko Ngai is a stunning jewel in the Adamen but limited for dining and bars. A trip of two or three days is perfect.

Very friendly staff but heavily overpriced and worn down ”
We were excited when we arrived to Koh Ngai. The crystal clear water, palm trees and two hornbill birds welcoming us from a tree. A perfect start. Then we walked to Mayalay Resort, checked in and was let to our Bungalow. We paid nearly 450 MYR per night per Bungalow and to that price, we were badly disappointed! The Bungalows is actually quite nice but they're a very simple and worn. From the light switch in the wall, you can see directly through to the outside. There is nowhere to but you things besides an old daybed. The bathroom is equally old and simple. A funny/strange detail is that the shower is before the toilet which means when you have taken a shower, the runs in front of the toilet and you can't use the toilet without getting wet feet. The restaurant is quite good and nice. Fairly prices compared to the food standard. They have both local thai food and western food. But the wooden terrace the restaurant is placed on is a hazard. Is old and worn down with nails sticking up. One day a guy was making a smaller repair in the small bar (old and worn down) next to the restaurant. He then walked across the terrace with a hammer in his hand. It's like they don't really care as long tourist comes and leaves money. The Spa is none existing beside some old worn down empty spaces in the middle of the ”resort”. There are small ponds which properly once were full of water and beautiful - now they are either empty or full of dead leaves bronze brown water. The staff who worked from 7 am (probably before but that is when breakfast starts) to 10 pm was so nice and friendly. They are the only reason our stay was somewhat enjoyable. But they work way to much serving all three meals all 5 days we stayed - the exact same people! I would not recommend Mayalay Resort to anyone!

this is my 3. time staying there. Just love it !”
This is the 3. time I visit Mayalay, and I will for sure come back again. The staff are so nice and friendly and helpful, and the view is stunning. I hope this small island never will be spoild by a large crowd, because the charm is the nature.

A nice hotel on a nice island”
One of the few hotels on Ngai that open during the low (green) season. Bungalows are nice, clean and comfortable. The overall area is well maintained, personnel is friendly and you feel that your money are well spent.

Great location, not so great food”
We loved the location of the resort and spent hardly any time lying around on the beach because of all the activities available to us in the National Marine Park. The snorkeling was awesome. The room was simple and clean, but the mattress was uncomfortable; you could feel all of the springs. In general the place looked a bit run down. The food was sometimes great and sometimes terrible. The free breakfast was nice, but later we ordered shrimp fried rice and the shrimp had been pre-cooked and tasted extremely old. I couldn't eat it. We ended up eating lunch and dinners at the Fantasy Resort down the beach. The last thing we wanted was to get food poisoning. I would go back just for the location but I'd bring snacks as everything on the island is overpriced.

Perfect stay”
We enjoyed our stay to the max. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and we could relax perfectly well. The rooms in little bungalows which are clean and cosy. The food in the restaurant was also delicious. Snorkeling is possible right in front of the resort close to the beach. All in all a perfect stay!

Simply perfect! Great beach! Great people!”
If you are looking for a luxury retreat you’ll be disappointed but if you are looking for an authentic closed to the beach resort you got it! Straight forward accommodation without any clutter, direct on the beach. Great people especially the lady at the reception is just outstanding. We booked a small trip as well and it was a great value for money. I can only recommend this resort. Dining options are plenty on the entire island.

Overbooked but nice”
Unfortunately the hotel had missed our booking, which meant that we could only have our bungalaws for one night. These were simple and nice, except for the bathrooms, which were pretty worn out. The location is perfect, in the good end of the beach. Breakfastbuffet needs more attention, since it lacked refilling and we had to ask several times for fruit and bread. We were relocated to their sisterhotel at the end of the beach. Upgraded to a beachcottage for the inconveinience. Very nice! Good service to make it possible.

Relaxing and wonderful place”
This is heaven. Upgrated the room and stayed in seaMaya, which is renommended. Pricey but great food - very Nice seafood barbecue. A bit open bathrooms in the bungalows which Can be an adventure. The rooms are Big with a lovely terrace. The hotels spa is good and the prices are fair. The Beach is perfect with crystal clear and shallow waters - perfect for our 1,5 year old son. There is not much to here so bring Lotus of books and enjoy....

great location, good service”
The room is simply nice but because the bathroom is partly open, mosquitoes can get in and if not careful when opening the door from the bedroom to bathroom, they will swarm in and give you a itchy night. Well, the resort seems to know the problem, they provide a mosquito net. Another drawback is expensive food (for Thai standard). The seafood is sold in grams not a kilo as on the mainland. So it is not very good for a big family. But the sea in front of the resort is perfect for a family with small kids because it is rather flat, not steep and the sea always calm. No television, though so it is for a hideaway.

Amazing resort with questionable management”
This is a beautiful resort on an awesome white sand beach with cozy huts - although the bathrooms are quite adventurous (partly open). The staff was exceptionally friendly, the resort itself is truely a paradise with a nice spa and a wonderful beach bar.
