Room in a garden”
Stayed for 4 days in a simple native hut surrounded by trees and plants, you'd really feel like you're in a garden or in nature. It's so relaxing after a hectic day of whale watching, swimming, snorkeling or waterfalls hopping.
Great Location, Great Service”
We absolutely loved our stay at Mayas! We stayed in their "Big House" even though it was just 2 of us (last available room) and it was a stellar deal. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, even offering to hook us up with tours, and ordered us a taxi for our ride back to the hotel. The food and drinks were delightful and the location was perfect. Close enough to many bars but away from the loud, clubby places. I can't recommend this place enough. Go here!
Amazing staff and delicious food”
Great location just minutes from the beach for fantastic snorkelling. Coral reef is thriving. We had a perfect time at Maya’s the staff are so hard working especially Mark who does not stop from start to finish. Lovely room and unbelievable food. We ate here for every meal and everything we had was lami! Can’t thank them enough for an amazing stay in Moalboal, I would recommend this place to anyone.
Good location, friendly staff”
1min walk to the beach, all the dive centers, and shops Restaurants are just in front of the resort Friendly and helpful staff Bike hire place is just next door - just bit noisy even at night due to the music from all the restaurants and bike shop
quiet and traditional style of house. insects like lizard and ants living in same room but the staffs are very quick and helpful to clean to ants. craft beer in the restaurant is nice. near to the beach and all other restaurants.
Great location, great place and helpful staff! ”
The location is great! Accessible on all nearby restaurants and transportation. WIFI is fast enough! Though, when I woke up the next morning, my eyes got swollen because of bed bugs and water is out because their water tank is broken. Staff offered us pails with water so we can take a bath.
Not the best experience ”
Didn’t have water almost all night. Staff didn’t seem to care too much. We had to ask for them to bring water in a bucket. If there is no water then this should be the least the staff can do without asking. Room itself had a good size and was clean. Close to the beach. Breakfast wasn’t included and not really great neither.
Quiet and nice”
Mayas Native Garden is very nice and peaceful. No breakfast, but the place across the way is great. The traditional houses are lovely and surprisingly cool (we never used the AC- just a fan). Deck chairs could use cushions for comfort. The "garden" part was disappointing, as it was very industrial. Hard to find desk staff most days and they were NOT helpful.
Our stay here was a very memorable one. The staff were all accommodating, shout out to Rose, Meladona, Lito and the rest I forgot their names. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights - new towels, toiletries and sheets everyday. Food from their resto is good not exceptional though, prices are a bit too much for locals but okay. Compared to other restaurants though in Panagsama, theirs are relatively cheaper. Only con is the parking space if you will be bringing a car. Quite difficult to navigate through the narrow roads of panagsama. Will definitely come back with our relatives!
Amazing location for diving and trips to cayoneering. ”
We took a fan cottage which was really good value with a nice seating area outside and a comfortable hammock. The staff are friendly and the location is close proximity to all the dive shops. They can arrange cayoneering gata ways also. The second day we were staying in Moalboal the electricity went out until 17h but the staff was providing us with water from the well.
Amazing staff, excellent stay”
Maya’s was a great place to stay in Moalboal. It was comfortable and cozy, and in a great location. Also, they have a restaurant and we couldn’t stop eating there, it was realllly good food. Especially if you like a Mexican food. The thing that made this place great though, was the staff. Every staff member was so friendly and helpful. They were happy people and always dancing and having fun with each other. It really makes a difference in the stay. Special thanks to Rose, Mark, and Alvin, and chef, you guys rock!
If you want to save but would not want to share spaces with strangers, this is perfect. The rooms/huts are huge. There are a lot of restaurants and bars along this street so it's not lonely especially at night. It's accessible to places where you'll do your Moalboal/Badian activities. Huge points also go to the genuine friendliness of the staff. They notice I was alone so they talked to me a lot and even invited me to hangout after their duty.
Good, nice stay”
Nice stay in air con cottage. Wouldn't mind to stay here again. Location is good, near the main night life / busiest street - 5 min walk. Food in restaurant is good too, mostly Mexican, but you wouldn't stay hungry. Prices are affordable like in the rest of Philippines , not overpriced.
Nippa hut is cool”
The nippa hut is so cool. Front door opens up the whole place. Nice porch, couple chairs and benches, hammock on porch, clothes wire. Fan was sufficient for the hut. No ac or tv but that was fine. Good hot water. Hut has a lot of vegetation around it. My top choice.
We have stayed at Maya's several times ,and will go back again. The staff are friendly, wifi good, food in restaurant good and varied and it's only 5 min walk to other bars and restaurants and 10 mins trike ride into Moalboal. Its not far from Kawasan falls if you intend to visit there ,but quite a long way from Oslob if you are going to swim with Whale Sharks. Accommodation is in traditional style Nipa Huts, which we like, but if you are looking for super luxury it won't be for you. For me , for the price and value it's good.
Good food! Spacious room! 50-50 on the staff. I just didn't like that the staff kept on bugging us regarding the payment for the extra bed, which made us seem like we didn't want to pay. The hut was fully paid for even before we checked in, couldn't they wait til check out before billing us the extra bed?! Kudos to Mark, the waiter/bartender, who accommodated and served us well. We ordered their burrito and tomato soup, it was uniquely delicious, Mark even cling wrapped our left overs so we can still consume it in our hut. I also commend the flexibility of the waiter/chef/or probably owner who served us during breakfast. She decided to give us the crepe we requested instead of the standard French bread in their American breakfast set meal. Although it would have been awesome if she gave us 2 pieces instead of just one, the crepe I think was significantly cheaper than the French bread anyways. Definitely going back for their Mexican food! Surprisingly, their hut is huge! More space !
Worth your money!”
Pros, the native house is big it can fit up to 10 people. It has a hammock inside and one room with a king size bed has air condition. The second floor has fans and beds. We only used the airconditioned room since we were only 3. It was really nice but a bit old. They also have a safe! The person who assisted us in checking in was helpful as well as the people who served us dinner. Con, not beach front or no sea view. Also they only start serving breakfast at 7am and we are early risers. But overall good value for your money!
Resort is clean and affordable with very basic amenities.TV and Ref is not available however the resort has its own restaurant and walking distance to the beach.Staff is also very helpful and accomodating.
Nice relaxing stay”
This is a fun place to stay - spacious rooms with traditional styling, comfortable beds and large bathroom. A good location 5 minutes away from the 'heart' of Panagsama Beach, and next door to One Eyed Jacks bar. Decent menu & food. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great one night stay”
My second stay at Maya's this year and although only an overnight on my way back to airport, enjoyed as much as first time when stay was longer .I just booked the small fan cottage this time , but big enough and still had a nice size balcony, wifi and hot shower . Great value for the price . . Staff always friendly , food always good , and a good location for other bars and restaurants .
