Beautiful Resort and nice accommodation”
Meeru Island considered one of the biggest Islands in Maldives. The Jetty entrance and reception area is flat and specious with scattered tall coconut trees within bigger area of surface, creating nice and joyful atmosphere and pleasant sea breeze under the shadow. The restaurants and bars are well decorated and maintained with nice and comfortable tables, sofas and cushions, floored with wet soft sands, high ceilings and the major sides are opened to circulate cool breeze. My booking was for “Water Villa”, Full Board, which has been upgraded to All Inclusive. The Water Villa in Meeru Island is unique in kind and does not exist within any other Resorts in Maldives. The Villa is exactly at the edge of sea water, where you get the feeling you are in both land and water at the same time. The Water Villa got two different level decks exists in the water, one of them got two relaxing seats and the second got two sun loungers in addition to two beach loungers beside the villa. During the high and low tides of water, the water reaches below the decks and allows the marine creatures to be roaming in front of the Water Villa. The best area for swimming and snorkeling in Meeru Island Resort is in front of the Water Villas area, where there is soft sand, clear water and exciting views. Being you are accommodated at Water Villas, this adds more enjoyment to your beach swimming and other activities. . The only short fall in the Resort which is available of most of Resorts in Maldives is not availability of extended decks of restaurants and bars over the water. My stay at Meeru Island Resort was fantastic and memorable and definitely I would recommend strongly to stay at “Water Villa” for real enjoyment and feeling as you are in paradise.

A few days spent in Paradise!”
We were a group of 3 friends and we had an absolutely amazing time during our stay. This place is quite different from the usual beach side resorts and it actually gives you a feeling of how it is to stay on an island. The different varieties of restaurants, cafes and bar and their unique design and look made our stay even better. Most of the staff were quite helpful except for a couple of them , especially the waiter who was allotted to us for the length of our stay (Ali @ Maalan) as he did not seem to be much interested in taking care of his guests and wasn't much of a help. On the other hand, we were served by Waheed at Dhoni bar who was excellent and knew how to take care of his guests. Latheef was also quite helpful and gave us a lot of good info about Meeru island. Lots of things and activities to do around the island, the Dhoni bar is just as beautiful in the evenings as it is during the day. I'd recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Maldives, not all resorts in Maldives provide an all inclusive package, all inclusive is really good as it'll save you from paying higher prices for food drinks and snacks if ordered separately. We had the sunset cruise included in our all inclusive package , though we were under the impression that it would automatically be included but turned out that we had to actually book our places, when we tried to book it appeared to be fully booked - we had to then speak to the reception a couple of times to get us included in the list. Similarly, we received a few vouchers for 15mins of free spa but could not avail of this as it was fully booked.. and they couldn't accommodate us. Overal the stay was really relaxing and very different from any other sea view / beach resorts I've been to. Can't wait to get back to Meeru again someday.. For those yet to book their stay in Maldives, don't hesitate if Meeru is one of the resorts you have shortlisted! It will be worth it.
Great value, friendly staff”
It was a great experience staying at the Meeru Island Resort and Spa. I booked a Jacuzzi Beach Villa for 4-nights with all-inclusive upgrade, which was a great value. Speedboat service: there are staff meeting you at the Male International Airport. The boat which took us from airport to the resort was a big one, although there were only 8 people they were picking up. The boat cabin is air-conditioned and comfort. It was just a little far from the airport, the boat will take about an hour. I booked another resort (Banyan Tree) after my stay at Meeru. I was a little worry about the connecting time between the speedboad transfers from both resorts and would cost me a lot of time waiting at the airport. I asked Meeru staff to contact Banyan Tree staff about my time reaching the airport. When Meeru speedboat reached the airport, the Banyan Tree staff was waiting there for me, great work! So I only spent less than 30 minutes at airport before the speedboat of Banyan Tree departs. Restaurants: because I stayed in the north part of the island, Maalan Restaurant was the primary place we had our breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant is spacious with a deck where you can sit outside when the weather permits. The restaurant staff were very friendly. Our waiter, Areef, came greeting us every time we came for meals. He's very attentive and always set our table in the same area. The food was OK with variety of choices. One thing I would call out is that the chefs will make different food sculptures (from watermelon, pumpkin, etc) to decorate the food section, which was a great extra to the food itself. Room: the villa is spacious and well equipped. Because it's on the beach, there were lots of ants. Maybe lacking of manpower in the housekeeping department, our room clean sometimes was not done in time. Two times we had to wait outside for the cleaning done (which was not too bad we can walk on the beach).
The relaxed 12-day vacation in 'Meeru Island Resort & Spa'”
I had a really relaxed 12-day vacation with my Husband in 'Meeru Island Resort & Spa'. Hotel is placed on the nice, very clean island, that day-by-day under the care of staff: every palm, every road, every square meter of this island - is under staff attention. I would like to pay special attention to the courtesy and friendliness of the hotel staff: they were always smiling, telling us how to get somewhere for the first days on the island. All staff is fluent in English. We stayed at Jacuzzi Beach Villa, it was a great choice. We had an open-air courtyard, closed from four walls, where we spent some of our time enjoying the jacuzzi, or relaxing in a gazebo under a thatched roof, or sunbathing on the outdoor lounge chairs. Inside, in the closed part of the villa, everything was also good: a large comfortable bed with an insect screen, air conditioning. I recommend you to visit 'Meeru Island Resort & Spa' to have a great holiday there and get a lot of positive impressions!
Excellent service; from touchdown to departure”
We came to Meeru for our first honeymoon and part of our island hopping trip in Maldives. If you are going to Meeru for your honeymoon too all I can say is: 1. You will be treated well from the moment you touchdown, Meeru gets in touch with the hotel in Male (capital island) if you arrive at night. Then, the following day you will be sent to the airport island again where you will be escorted to Meeru's boat and will be sent to Meeru Island. 2. When you arrive you won't need to worry about logistics; porters will know your and send your luggage, waiters will be assigned specifically for you and there are various activities you can partake (gym, water sports, cycling, snorkeling etc) as long as you ask the ever-friendly staff 3. The dinner by the beach was amazing. You will be blanketed by the stars, regaled by the sound of the waves and soothed by the sea breeze on the private space on the beach for you and your partner (early booking is required) 4. We stayed at the jacuzzi water villa in the picturesque lagoon, and we strongly recommend you ask for the sunset-facing villas. 5. The food choices differ each day, and they are all wonderful. Our waiter even asked where we were when we missed a meal. Overall it was a memorable honeymoon stay, and yes we will be back there again one day. Many thanks to Meeru staff for your hospitality!
AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT MEERU”
Hi Agoda! I would like to share and say my gratitude to Meeru resort. We were honeymooners going to Maldives for the first time. All planning was made on our own as we did not engage with any travel companies. Love love loveeee the island so much. Everyday I will have something amazing to compliment on everything. When we first arrive to Male island, we went straight to the booth and within minutes we are already on the boat to Meeru. Upon reaching the beautiful island, we were greeted by some local music with the drums and all. It was a beautiful atmosphere!! Within less then 30 mins we were able to make our way to our villa. Basically the staffs are all very very efficient and fantastic. If I can give a medal for the best service I would. All the staffs will greet u 'hi or hello' when u walk past them. As we are Muslims, they will greet us 'Asalamualaikum' . They are full of smiles and they are all very sincere and not 'faking it or forced to' . The food (omg) was superb!!! As coming from Singapore. I have tasted all kinds of food such as Chinese, Malay and Indian. Their cooking are all up to the standard. Their curry/chapati everything! Is Super nice. Every lunch, breakfast and dinner I just can't stop feeling amazed on how delicious the food was and it tasted exactly like how it is supposed to be. Amazzzzzzinngggg! Our waiter, his name is Hisham (if I'm not wrong) was amazing he is sooo caring and patient ( as we always can't decide what drink to order) . As what we can see, it looks like everyone there are Muslim people, which makes us Super comfortable and safe. Anyway, heads up to the Chef!! Amazing fooddd! Even the chicken sausage tasted amazing! Most people would think that 'oh there's not nothing to do at maldives' THINK AGAIN GUYS! There are sooo many things to do that we didn't had the time to go! There are many free things that we are entitled to! We went to 3 excursions, 1 which is free and 2 paid. We saw baby dolph
Heavenly place with 5 stars service. Beyond perfect!”
We came here for honeymoon and stayed at the north part of the island - jacuzzi water villa for 4d3n which has access to the crystal clear sea! It was absolutely amazing! The design of the room is perfect and very well maintained (looks sooo much better than the photos on agoda). We could even watch shark, turtle and fish underwater while enjoying our complimentary mini champagne by the resort (honeymoon complimentary). Unfortunately, we were unable to go to the sea from our water villa due to high tide season in December. But that’s okay, we went to the ocean along the island. Room service came in twice a day and refill drinking water for free and make sure minibar is always filled up. We booked full board meal and varieties of food served at international buffet which came in differently daily. Never get hungry at this place! We also went for free snorkeling session during the daytime and the instructor , Bruno is such a professional. Facilities on the island are so perfect! Our day was so contented here! Eat, sea, sleep and repeat! Not to forget that everywhere is so picturesque. For boat transfer, it took us about an hour to Meeru from Male airport at $320 return trip for 2 persons. Very systematic time schedule which was shown on tv screen in our room and reception for our next day departure time. Will definitely be back! Thanks Meeru for creating an absolutely awesome honeymoon memories for husband and myself. So in love.
First trip to Maldives”
This was our first trip to Maldives and after a lot of research and reading reviews, selected Meeru Island Resort and Spa. We were really happy with the trip. We were on an all inclusive plan, and the food and drink options was quite decent. We were upgraded to an All Inclusive Plus Plan which added a trip to a nearby local island and a sunset and dolphin watching cruise. The staff was fantastic, responding with eagerness and a smile for any query or request for service. Since it is quite a large island, you are faced with a bit of a walk, for meals., if your room is at a distance from the restaurant, alloted to you in the AI plan.( though I suppose, you can call for a golf cart to pick/drop you off. The only negative point was late checkout fee is steep and for just 3 hours. Normal check out is 12noon. You are permitted to stay till just 3.00pm, after payingUS$135. But all in all a fantastic holiday. And would love to visit again.
Best beach holiday ever!”
We had a wonderful stay on this beautiful island. First thing i wanted to do when we arrived at the jetty was to jump into the clear blue/green waters. One can easily spend a whole day relaxing along the beach, basking in the sun or frolicking in the water. The service was excellent, but it was more than that. One could sense that the staff were not there just to do their jobs, but they were genuinely happy to have us there. They were friendly and served to make our stay a memorable one. Our waiter on our last day even offered to lend us his bicycle when it would have cost us $10 rent/day. The excursion to Male, the capital, was an enjoyable one. It offered a peek into the lives of ordinary Maldivians. We stayed in the Water Villa, which was really comfortable. The only minor gripe we have being the room gets a little dim in the night with only 3 lamps around the room, but everything else was just so pleasant that we weren't really bothered by it. The resort is about an hour's boat ride from the airport, which might be too long for some. You can just take a nap or enjoy the scenery on the way. Otherwise, the island's set in a beautiful location, you'll feel good when you step onto the jetty. Overall it was a great holiday. We would definitely recommend Meeru Island Resort to friends visiting the Maldives.
What we wanted and what we needed. Paradise!”
We stayed a week at Meeru on the north side of the island in a Jacuzzi Water Villa on all inclusive basis. And it is so worth it! What we wanted and what we needed, we got it and moreover that. The service is excellent on this island, even before arriving i had e-mail contact with them and they were always quick on replying. We had some requests for our stay and though they didn't want to promise it until we got there, they had taken note of all of our requests which were met. Excellent! The room was great, with a great view of the ocean and the fish in it. It was clean and tidy and we enjoyed the outdoors jacuzzi quite some times. We ate our meals at the Maalan restaurant and the food was so good! But nothing beats the service of our waiters, these 2 guys rock this restaurant and became our favorite staff on the island. They are hard working and they do a great job very efficient. It was sad saying bye to them at our last meal.... has such an awesome personality!! So cool! Always ready with 3(!) sugar in my mans coffee. We came for relaxing and privacy, and this is what you get at Meeru. A week of no shoes, no troubles, no worries, no time... Just turquoise water, white sand, sea breeze and top notch service. Nothing is ever a problem here. And i love the hello's, the good mornings and the good night's from all the staff as you wander through the island. So sweet! It felt sad to leave this beautiful island, but we will be back in maldives again, and Meeru it is!
Indeed, a little paradise of the Maldives!”
My partner and I had 3-night experience at Meeru. It was the main highlight of our 8-day trip to the Maldives last February 2020. Now listen to me, do not contemplate any longer, just go for the Jacuzzi Water Villa, you will thank me later! With approximate 915 square feet in term of size, this villa suspended over the turquoise lagoon is perfect for ocean lovers and romance. Needless to say, and without a doubt the best part of our villa was our own veranda! With direct access to the sea, morning and evening dips are few steps away. I am a morning person and there is no better way to start the day other than jumping in for a morning dip. I just blogged about my personal 3 nights experience at Meeru, feel free to have a look at my blog https://www.theparttimetraveller.com/post/a-little-paradise-of-the-maldives-meeru-island-resort-spa Hope it helps!
Totally exceed my expectations!!”
My husband and I went Meeru Island for our birthday/ belated honeymoon trip. It was our first time visit to Maldives and it was soooooo amazing and unforgettable. At first, the main reason for choosing it as our occasion destination is because of the reasonable price of the resort. But all about Meeru Island including the room, scenery, food and the most important part is the staff extremely exceed my expectations! They are super nice and friendly. Ahmed, the buffet staff impressed us the most. He’s talkative and manage to remember my drinks’ preference although we stay at the island for 2 nights only. We were given 2 birthday cakes during our stay, it’s for hubby’s belated birthday and my actual birthday. The sad things for our stay is our spotlight at our villa was not working. So unable to view sea animals at night clearly. But still appreciate for the birthday cakes, dining table’s decorations and birthday greetings from warm and lovely Meeru! We will definitely come back again!
Beautiful and amazing holiday with MEERU”
1. The location of Meeru is in North Male Atoll which is 50 min. by speedboat provided by Meeru ISLAND Resort & Spa ( Additional charge for transports which was $160/ person_it was unexpected expenses for us) and had beautiful lagoon. 2. Many activities available in the resort. (Scuba diving, Wind Surfing, Canoeing) 3. We booked full board and the buffet was amazing and so nice having lots of selections and varieties.
Great location and great holiday!”
We arrived at Male airport after 20 hours of travelling and went to the counter for Meeru where we were told to take a seat in the restaurant and we would be collected when the boat was ready to leave. We watched as the people from the other resorts got on boats and left and thought that we had been forgotton so we went back to the counter and were informed that we were waiting for 2 guests arriving on the flight due to arrive in 30 mins time. This is not what we wanted to hear but we didn't make a fuss. Finally after 75 mins of waiting we were on our way to Meeru. From the time we arrived at Meeru we felt relaxed and pampered. We were welcomed with a cocktail and a cold towel whilst we filled in the required paperwork. We were then informed that we had been upgraded to a Jacuzzi Water Villa so we knew it was going to be a great holiday. We were taken to our room via golf buggy and we were very happy to find a larger than expected room, very clean with a spectacular view of the lagoon. We could not have been happier. Our room was serviced twice daily and we never had one complaint. The only thing that could improve is the minibar system that you have to sign before they refill. The buffet restaurant food that is included is very good with a wide variety and daily changing menu but make sure you go for all inclusive because the drinks can get very expensive. We didn't feel the need to go to any of the other restaurants that you had to pay for. The snorkeling excursion to the house reef is a must do as is the sunset punch cruise which are both very reasonably priced. We did a fishing trip but didn't catch anything worthwhile and also did the Island Hopping day trip which was interesting to see other islands. We will definately be back!
we spend the first 3 days of our 7 day honeymoon at meeru and were amazed at the beauty of the island and maldives in general.after arriving at male airport some 3 hours late we were only made to wait some 20 min at the airport lounge before being escorted to a waiting speedboat which we shared with another 10 guests. the trip was about 50 min and was realively smooth. once at the island it was 1st class service. greeted by reort staff we were provided a welcome drink and then asked to fill out a small form before being provided with all inclusive wrist bands and then a golf buggy ride to our beach villa. the room itself was large, clean and if there is any thing i could pick on was that the outdoor bathroom looked a little simple but it was functioning normally with plenty of hot water and space. the next 2 days we spend snorkelling (resonable rental rate), kyaking and we indulged on the 3 buffets meals per day and all inclusive drinks. its a shame that the mini bar is not included in the all inclusive but overall we had an awesome time. next stop was vidalahamuu resort which is the same company and therefore the transfers were perfect except for the 530am departure - but that was ok on the other end since in hindsight we were already checking in at 9am (and that included a 50 min speedboat back to male, 10 min bus to seaplane terminal and a 30 min wait for the seaplance before a 25 min seaplane ride to the next resort) all coordinated perfectly. great resort, great service and great value for money -- will be back for sure.
Perfect Paradise for a Honeymoon”
The service staff at Meeru Island Resort & Spa were really nice and friendly. They were always willing to help us whenever we face with any issues or have any problem that needed to be resolved. They were also always had safety in mind, advising us on the risks of water activities and sports whenever we had inclement weather during our stay. The staff at the restaurants were really sociable as well. We stayed 3 nights at the Jacuuzi Water Villa and really loved it. Having the perfect view to sunrise daily, luxury of jumping into the sea whenever we want to snorkel, quiet and serenity due to the isolation of the villas really provided us with a peaceful time there. We extended our trip by a day (due to a flight delay) and stayed at the Jacuuzi Beach Villa. It was also really nice and quiet there with the same amenities and peacefulness. Meeru resort has quite a lot of activities to do there. Due to our All Inclusive Package, we got to kayak whenever we want, use all sports facilities, f
Beautiful resorts with excellent facilities!”
We stayed in the Jacuzzi water villa and it is highly recommended! Just at your door step, you can jump into the water which is super clear with fishes around like you are in a fish aquarium! We have "special visiting friends" of big stingray and small reef shark coming by our room. Waking up every morning, facing the beautiful sea was just so awesome. Food was superb with real 5 star international spread. So much to eat but so small the stomach! Everyday, the food variety changes and we never get bored with it. Many leisure, water sport and non sport activities, you can enjoy to the max. with your loved ones or families. Sitting at the beach, enjoying beautiful sunset was wonderful, relaxing time. One thing we love to do but didn't was to get spa massage as it was too expensive. We had free complimentary 15mins massage at the over water spa and it was fantastic. It would be great if the price could be more reasonable. Thank you Meeru Island Resort and Spa for the wonderful time!
Kingdom of Heaven”
OmG!!!!! Where should we begin? We are a Hungarian couple and we spent 10 fantastic nights in Meeru. Honestly Meeru is like a Dream, like a perfect postcard from the Paradise, what is came alive and you are part of it.... indescribable!!! If you thinking now where to go, don't think more, because Meeru is truly a Kingdom of Heaven!!!! We visited a lot of different country, but Meeru is in our first place, we will definetly go back, for sure!!! Firstly... when we arrived to the Island, they offered to us a free 1 night yacht trip. Which was amazing, we have had lunch on the yacht, and we have had our romantic beach dinner in Kaagi island and we listened a traditional music and we did dance too... it was so fun. On the yacht were 8 more couples from England, Germany, France, China, India and everybody were so frindly and fun. We did fishing, snorkel and we saw turtles, sharks, lot of colourfull fishes... so the one night yacht trip is really worth it, and it was free :) we have had an All Inclusive Plus package, which is really good, because on Meeru has a lot of fantastic cocktails what you have to try!!! And the ice coffee with a bit baileys is FANTASTIC!!! About the food... truly TASTY ;) Our restaurant was the Maalan restaurant, which was more than 5 stars for us. Special mention to our waiter Thau and on our last day, Ibrahim. And everybody else in the restautant were so friendly :) well done. And our other place where we found our Paradise on the island, it was the Dhoni bar, unfortunatelly we won't remember all of our friends's name from Dhoni, but we will try. So firstly is Suresh :) we know him from our yacht trip and then from the Dhoni bar ;) He was so Fun, we did smile everyday because of him ;) we are so lucky to know him!!! And also Jesusa, she is one of the cutest girl in Dhoni, we really liked her :) we are happy to know her ;) Our other friends, Hassan, Samyn, Waheed, Saeed and everyone else. Thanks and thanks again our Dreamholiday! Tamás and Szabina
We stayed in October and had a beautiful week. When we arrived, we suffered the overbooking issue that so many reviews mention. We were upgraded from a Water Villa to a Jacuzzi Water Villa for our whole week and didn't have to mess about changing rooms or going on cruises as others had done. Worked out great for us, but you can't really bank on it. The room was stunning, we were the third from last JWV from the sea end in the 'newer' 300 series, the only bad thing was the length of walk along the pier to the villa, but that gave ample opportunity for wildlife spotting. The room was amazing, large, immaculate and well presented. Everything we could have wanted was in there. the outdoor jacuzzi and bathroom at the back were a bonus as well. We had our own steps down into the sea for snorkelling and a light for night fish-spotting. This was amazing to watch the various fish and rays coming through our patch of light. Slight point is flash photography appears to scatter the fish pretty quick! Snorkelling was great, especially around the honeymoon villas and the JWVs up to the north of the island. We saw dolphins playing around the boat on the way in on the transfer to the island and they stopped the boat for us to take photos which was cool. Other than that, bats, fish, sharks (fairly small but still awesome), geckos and lizards etc. We did see a rat on the first day but not again and they can only be expected on an island with food and people. The spa treatments added to the cost but were lovely as well, soothed my sunburnt skin! Food was excellent, good wide choice and varied day to day, all buffet style but plentiful and nothing at all to complain about there. We were sat in the 'family' restaurant to the south of the island but it wasn't too bad with kids etc so felt no need to go to the 18+ restaurant to the north. Come to think of it we never went in either pool so can't review those! We loved it, would have stayed longer but we didn't have time :-(
