One of the best experiences in Istanbul”
-Prime location within 5-10 mins walks to Blue mosque and Aya sofia and Tram station. The area around the hotel is full of restuarant, convenient store and everthing that tourist needed. - All the staffs are very friendly and super helpful!!! This is not usual for normal Turkish standard. They are like the oasis in the desert. All of them speak fluent English and this is very important for first time traveller in Istanbul. For me asa solo traveller when I met them I feel like meeting a friend that I can trust. I didn't exaggerated , there are a lot of cheated people along the street in Istanbul. They helped me for the direction, airport transfer, even sending the postcard. Every customer questions, they tried their best to answer. - the breakfast at the hotel roof top restuarant is mavelous. It has the great view of the Bosphorus. The breakfast has varieties of food. You will like it. - the atmosphere of the hotel: you feel like home. Good decoration and lighting. One minor problem is the room wall is not sound proof. So if it possible avoid the room next to the stair. But believe me this is very little thing compared to what you got. There is small Art gallery shop next to Lobby. You can admire all the Turkish style art works if you love art. It is very inspiring. I definitely recommend this Gem to all friends to ensure that they will have at least good time in this hotel.

Near to historical place, cozy room & friendly staff
Can't rate on food because we bought room without breakfast. Very near to Ayya Sofiyya & Topkapi Museum. Walking distance to shopping & dining The only setback is no lift & narrow stairs. The rest ok.

Cozy and quaint or cramped and run down........ .?”
Location, view, Internet
Generally the hotel is OK, but I was extremely surprised at the size of my room as I had booked and paid for for a deluxe double, while the room was nothing like on the picture and extremely small. I even asked the reception, and they reconfirmed that my room was indeed a double deluxe. The cleanliness and maintenance leaves something to be desired, and while most staff speak some English, not all of them to a very good standard.

Awesome Experience Indeed”
Perfect Location, Superb Hospitality & Wonderful Personal Care
Had a great experience staying for 3 nights at Megara Palace. The hotel is perfectly located at the best place in Sultanahmet. Since it is an old house converted to a boutique hotel, the rooms are small but they were nicely decorated... Housekeeping was very good... The hospitality was simply amazing and won our hearts... The roof top cafe had a beautiful view overlooking panoramic Bosphorus....the breakfast was just perfect.... Only there was no choice of eggs and you have to eat only boild eggs (a feedback for the management) Special mention to the manager John, who takes personal initiative to be a tour guide for the guest for free and extremely helpful... The simles of the people will really make you feel at home... A very positive recommendation to stay at Megara in Sultanahmet, Istanbul...

MEGARA PALACE REVIEW”
Proximity to tourist attractions / attentive and helpful staff / ambience
We had a comfortable stay. Had to complain once due to very noisy neighbours who were very very loud at 2 AM. Hotel could provide a kettle and tea / coffee bags in each room to make stay more comfortable as it is almost impossible to find tea / coffee early morning in the hotel or within its surrounding areas. Staff very helpful to guide / recommend tours.

LOCATION, Staff, view from rooms
I was a young female solo traveler and found this place perfect!! Staff were so helpful and kind, everything you could possibly want to see is all within 50m (Palace, blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Museums) and bosphous and Grand Bazzar 15 min walk (maybe less) or simple tram ride (4turkish Lira). Megara place was perfect it was so central to everything in Istanbul yet away from the busy streets!!

Good Location, Charming Place, A feel of a Slice of History
It was pleasant enough. The rooftop dining place was extremely pretty with a good view. The breakfast could have had greater variety, and the rooms were a bit small. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall good stay with some hiccups.”
Very close to all main attractions in the old city, a lot of restaurants nearby and close to the tram.
Cons: They moved us between rooms two times during our five night stay (gave us half a bottle of red Turkish wine as compensation). A bit far from Taksim and nightlife. The coffee didn't taste good at the morning buffé. Pestered us about to eat at their restaurant (which we never did). Description on booking sites are not true (no bathrobes, no desk, no lcd/plasma screen, no separate shower and tub, no whirlpool bathtub). The worst internet connection ever. A lot of distortions on the TV and all channels in Turkish. Very close to a mosque that seemed to have their speakers lined straight at our hotel (ok first days but it get's a bit tiresome after a while). Pros: Very close to all main attractions in the old town. A lovely terrace in deluxe rooms with a nice view over the ocean. Clean rooms. Helpful and polite staff. Ok morning buffé (except the coffee). It felt like a safe hotel to stay at.

Staff, Location, Location
Stay was great at this great location. Topkapi museum and Aya Sofya are a few steps away, and a bit further is Sultan Ahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque). Staff were really helpful, and they accommodated for every request that I had. I have been to many hotels, and Megara Palace staff ranks among the very best. Thank you, Megara!
