    Superb location.”

I'm guessing this older, largely wooden guest house is often overlooked, but we found it to be charming in a classic Thai sort of way. It's location on the river front is excellent and a short walk from excellent restaurants and the sprawling Indochine Market.

    Pretty good stay”

Location on the Riverfront, many good restaurants nearby,

This is a quaint old fashioned hotel with teakwood floors and fixtures. At the onset it seemed to have a certain charm that pretty much got used up because of all of the noise from the River walk and the nearby restaurants and hotels. However this was my only complaint with this hotel, the noise finally abated about 10 or 11 pm and it was very quiet.

    BRING CASH”

The staff were abrasive at best and rude by anyone's standards. They do not do credit card bookings; however, they will take money from your credit card if you fail to cancel a booking. Very disappointed. I live in Thailand and expect much better. It was very difficult to get a word in edgeways once the staff started about why cash is king! Needless to say, I will never be back.

    Too loud and very small”

A good location here and clea.... but the room was too small for our liking. Also too noisy with the restaurant kitchen right under our room with just wood planks as a barrier... kitchen yelling sounded as if it was in our room.

very thin walls between rooms. We were kept awake for hours by an amorous young couple next door. Restaurant scruffy and staff lazy/grumpy. Looked good on the website but in reality not the best experience.

this is the best location in Nongkhai.it is at the river side next to walking way along makhong river.you can lelax by walking along the river side looking at the oneway running water in makhong river.imagine this water will pass toward Laos, Camphochai,Vietnam and join the south Chaina sea. this hotel is very clean and we like the atmostphere of the wooden building very much.

Only a guesthouse, hard to find as name had change”

    Close to river.

Disappointed on arrival, very small room for 2 people. No proper shower recess. I would look elsewhere next time. Staff not helpful or very friendly, everything felt like it was a chore for them. Price was reasonable. Food was okay and beer was reasonably priced. Nice view from restaurant across the river to Laos.

Close to market, on river front

the stay was great. -- only comment is that the receipt provided by agoda does not give a phone number for the hotel. we had a hard time finding the hotel by just the address, it would have been helpful to have the phone number printed on the receipt as well.

Great location shame about the hotel”

Great location near to market and restaurants

After reading the previous posting I went with reasonable expectations not expecting the Ritz. Shower head broken from wall and shower in need of renovation, poor beds and covers old. Nong Khai was quiet but went back at 10.30 first night to find the place shut up and in darkness.

Great location but too hot in the afternoon sun”

Near the market and great view of Mekong River.

I booked for 5 rooms for 2 nights. One of the room was too hot for comfort due to the afternoon sun. the other room, the door unable to lock. Due to this problem, I need to change the 2 rooms and pay extra $200 baht for each room per night.

Worst hotel experience I can remember - cont.”

    Market just outside

The staff were rude and unhelpful. At first they agreed to change my small, squadid room then two minutes later refused. In no way could the room be called "superior" as advertised. The bathroom was a dark, bare cell with tatty basin, mnirror and shower. There was no soap, no toilet paper (take your own), the towels were old, threadbare, discoloured by use. The promised free Wi-Fi didn't work (the staff didn't care less), the air con couldn't cope in the day so the the room was hot and sweaty; old spring mattresses seemed to sum up what the management thought of its guests. Mosquitoes were more than a nuisance. The word "riverside" is well exploited in Nong Kai; none less so at the Mekong Riverside. There were no rooms that we could see with a river view, so please beware of misrepresentation. it was an expensive bad experience.

    "Great location but small rooms"”

Old teak house with wooden floors and a large restaurant by the riverside

The place is sadly falling apart. The restaurant staff, some young schoolgirls running away and hiding them selves afraid of taking orders. The bed and floor is clean, for the rest you can write your name in the dust. Living as a expat in the northeast-Issan-territory i can promise You can get much better value for Your money elsewhere
