Grrrrreat location, helpful and friendly staffs.”

Located near attractions and night life.

the manager was really good. i had been emailing him for more info about the hotel and cambodia overall - replies were really fast 9and with good english). located along sisowath quay where the night life is at its peak. busy streets, pretty view of sunset and sunrise. only 10mins walk to the royal palace, silver pagoda and national museum. central market was about 15mins walk. staffs were really friendly and smiled all the time. this place also has its own tour services and i think that is pretty convenient. all under one roof.

      Good location and easy access.”

good location, easy access to various tourist spots and near to restaurent, spas and pubs.

Average stay for 2nites over the weekend. I stayed at the deluxe room with river front view. The view is ok but room was a bit old and as is the bed. Bath room was not really that clean. if you looking for a view and cheap short stay, I will recommend. Overall, location is great with pubs, restuarents, local markets, eateries, spas nearby.

Geat location with small rooms and a good bed!”

Location, nice staff, and a good bed!

Great location 5 min walk to the royal palace. Bed was nice but rooms were very small. Staff was very nice but the hotel does need some fixing up as well as a good cleaning but we were the only guests for our 3 night so renovations may not be in there budget plus given the price for the location I shouldn't complain. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider staying again.

      Location, staff, and nice bed!

The location of this hotel was awesome a five minutiae walk to the palace. Rooms were small but the bed was very nice and the bathroom/shower was also nice. The rest of the hotel was okay could use some fixing up but for the price and location I really can't complain. The staff was very nice and overall we enjoyed our stay.

      Location, friendly staff, big room

The hotel is within a walking distance from the main attractions in Phnom Penh. Easy to get around and plenty of tours for you to pick up from. For muslim travelers, there are quite a few halal eateries around too.

      Nice river view from balcony”

Riverview from balcony, friendly staff, near major attractions

Have a nice river view from balcony, stay was OK except disappointed with their airport pickup arrangement. We arrive at night hence requested for airport pickup and even confirmed with them over emails. We waited for more than half hour outside the arrival gate and eventually need to asked several people for assistance to communicate with the hotel night duty staff (have difficulty communicating in English).. In the end we get the airport staff to help us arrange for a taxi to bring us to the hotel (luckily we have a backup map and address with us). Reminder, need to bring your toiletry, photo of rooms looks new but it's quite run down... have kettle but no cups ..

      Great service from friendly staff”

      Location, Service, View

It was a good stay. Very neat rooms. Suggest that you ask for the balcony, although it is slightly more expensive than the regular rooms. Worth the money as the view to the Mekong river is great. The Location is beyond compare. It is very close to the National Museum and the Royal Palace. It is on the riverfront. Very close to an array of restaurant and bars. Walking distance to the Night Market. If there is one thing better than the location, it is the staff service. They help you intuitively. They checked with the bus service (to Siem Reap) regarding free pickup (we did not know it was a thing) and made arrangements for a tuk tuk to the same place. Told us about the free pickup offered in many hotels in Siem Reap; so we saved money on that as well. Also, their staff gave us extra bottled water to drink free of charge when we returned in the day. On the whole, 40 USD for a night's stay is a bit steep for Phnom Penh but comparable to most hotels on the Riverfront. It is not for people who expect the hotel to have a pool, bar, etc. Nor does the hotel have their own restaurant, and that is something that they could fix. But as I said, there are so many great restaurants nearby. Definitely will recommend the place for mid-range travellers who need a centrally located with great staff service.

      LOVELY PLACE”

beautiful view, kind staff, located next to great food

I would return again. I love this place. It is located on sisowath quay so we had a great view of the mekong river. Remember to request for the rooms with the balconies that face the river. think there are only 4 such rooms. a little more pricey but so worth it!! imagine waking up to a view of the mekong and watching the sunset from the comfort of your own balcony. located on a street where there great food is available! wide range of television channels as well, cable tv provided, which i was very grateful for because there isnt much to do in phnom penh on a weekday night so tv is a heaven sent past 10pm. one booboo is that the balconies of both river facing rooms, (only 2 on 2 levels i think), are really near to each other, so i can practically shake hands with my next door neighbour? but security with regards to people climbing up from level 1 is great due to the spikes that have been put in place below the balcony to prevent intruders from outside the hotel. this is important since its a low level inn!!

      Location, Staff, Comfortable Bed

Stayed a few nights at this centrally located (riverfront) budget hotel. Had a room with no window, but that was fine as we were sparred from the hectic traffic noise outside. Bed was comfortable, fast internet and unlimited free bottled water. Staff was good and arranged Vietnamese Visas for us... price was cheaper than other travel agencies. Plenty of nice cheap restaurants right outside!

There are no good things here

Air conditioning broke down and they were unable to do anything about it. Staff said at least I had a fan. Small comfort as I sweated through the night with no sleep and had no choice but to check out the next day. Now hotel procrastinating over reimbursing costs. Do not stay at this poorly run dirty hotel.

      Terrrible stay away”

      Leaving Leaving Leaving

The room we had was disgustingly dirty. My Partner spent the first 20 minutes cleaning the toilet of faeces and hair. The room lets light in with some windrows with no covers and the noise from the main road is exasperating. Loud trucks and horns tooting 24/7.This is the worst room we have had in 8 years travelling throughout Asia and we would never stay here again. We left after the first night. Customer service could also improve. This is the first time I have left negative feedback about a hotel and I have stayed in some fairly average ones but this by far is the worst.

      Best budget hotel overlooking river”

      Helpful Staff

We loved Phnom Penh and staying at this hotel made the time enjoyable and hitch free. All rooms have DVD players which is great to catchup on movies since we had been travelling for 3 months! The rooms don't have windows which did not bother us because its so hot you want a/c comfort, plus if you want the view just step outside. We upgraded to the balcony room and to be honest we hardly used the balcony and the room always felt a bit hot as the balcony doors let in the warm outside air. If you want to stay in a budget place that caters for budget and those who want a colonial feel you cannot go wrong here. Also, if you are planning to goto Vietnam, get the staff to book you on the 8.30am Mekong Express Limousine Bus which was really good, and make sure you sit in front or middle of bus.

Although the reception give a bad impression, the hotel is clean and location is great! In front of the river, nearby the Grand Palace and close to the restaurants, caffes and bars. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you with whatever needs you might have.

      Most helpful staff

we didn't end up staying there as there was a problem with the room so can't comment about room quality but can say that the staff were extremely helpful in taking us to another place next door, ensured we got a good price and service, took the time (for no money) to go with me through the phnom penh travel brochure with maps etc showing me where things were and recommending itineraries. they then organised our tuktuk to the airport (agin, free of any charge) and were on the whole the most friendly and helpful people. even though we didn't actually stay there!

      Nice rooms, great service.”

good location, good rooms, great bathroom, lovely staff.

While the front reception of this place wasn't promising this was made up for in how completely accommodating the staff were. The room itself was really nice, as I was travelling with friends the space was fine, but if you were travelling with a family given it's a 'family room' there is no privacy and not a huge amount of space. The bathroom was probably the best part, with a massive shower head and good water pressure, probably the best shower I've had in Cambodia! Would definitely recommend this place for anyone's budget stay.

      Great hospitality

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mekong Imperial Guesthouse. The staff members were very accomodating and hospitable. They greeted us everyday with a warm smile. One staff member in particular helped us with basically all of our traveling inquiries and needs. He helped us contact local tour operators for pick-up confirmations, as well as bus companies that carried passengers to and from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Besides all that, we even requested a later check-out time due to an ill traveler and they were very accomodating.
