Fine spot”
Not a very warm lobby, but the rooms are great. And the neighboorhood is one of the best.

Decent Hostel in an Excellent Location”
Good location, helpful staff, nice room size
I chose this place because of the excellent location and good price. It's in a very convenient place, with easy taxi access at all hours. Meimei's cafe is a few doors down, and the bus stations are nearby. However, some of the things in the room were a bit broken. The balcony door had a crack that allowed noise and mosquitoes in. The aircon remote was broken. Yet, the staff were friendly and made sure I was comfortable. They brought me a new remote and a fan. I would stay there again for the sake of convenience and helpful staff.

Great location, no English spoken, lazy staff..”
Good location.
The hotel has a great location with easy access to shops and restaurants. No English was spoken and the staff refused to even consider helping out; further, the front desk had an issue with the Agoda voucher and wanted to be paid again. It is decent value if you need a room to sleep for a couple of nights but I would go elsewhere. Also, there was no hot water at the hotel one night I was staying there, so be prepared to take a cold shower.

Budget Hotel for Short Stay”
The Hotel is within commercial area, easy to get around and do shopping. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The price is affordable.
Overall this is not a bad budget hotel. But my aircon never worked even though I switched rooms twice. Except for being very hot in the room, I have no complaint. The hotel is in a busy district, after getting off the "airport bus" you can easily walk to this hotel. It is also an idea base if you wanna have a day trip from one of the local bus stations. They are all within walking distance.

A nice hostel”
Friendly staff; good location; good services
The hostel is located in the heart of downtown. It is close to the bus terminal and the shopping street. Free transfer from airport to hostel is provided. Guests could contact the hostel in advance so that the staff can arrange for pick-up. The staffs there are very friendly and helpful. They could speak English and some of them are even able to speak Cantonese. Basic equipment such as WiFi and washing machine are available. The only thing need to be improved is the water heating system. You may need to turn on the water for more than five minutes before the water gets hot. In general, this hostel is worthy of recommendation.

Quiet, relaxing”
Friendly, clean, handyn
It was peaceful, clean, friendly. We felt very safe. The staff spoke well english. There was a wash machine, which was welcome in China! The shower and toilet were good, we could put the WC paper in the toilet which is unauthorized in the majority of the chinese toilet, because of the low power of the water. There was a balcony with tables at the end of the corridor were we could eat something.

no frills place to stay”
near other "Western" amenities
This place markets itself as a YHA/Hosteling International place but, in reality, it doesn't appear to be the case. There's a YHA sign, but nothing to indicate they actually accept YHA member cards. The rooms appear to look nice at first but, for only being a few months old, the quality of workmanship is horrible. The doors don't open properly, bathroom tiles are falling off, and many of the lights and electrical sockets don't even work. The bathroom is only separated from the room by a glass wall, so you have to rearrange the shower curtain if you don't want your roommate to see nature calling you. The rooms have Internet, but you have to use a LAN cable. There is a wifi signal from the in-room router, but it is misconfigured. Wifi is available in the lobby, but the signal is often not strong enough to reach the rooms Be sure to bring your own LAN cable if you don't want to sit at the desk, as they only give you a 1-foot long one. So be prepared to surf the Internet like it's 1999. The nicest things about the rooms were the beds and large balconies. The beds are comfortable and the balcony gives you enough room to relax and/or dry your laundry. If you're lucky, you can get a room that lets you run the A/C without having the keycard in place. It's very hot in this region so having the room stay cool when you arrive is a bonus. There are only a couple of staff members who speak English, and at times they appear as though you are putting them out to get any sort of help.

A great find”
New, friendly staff, top location
this hostel opened only a month before our stay. we were greeted by a very friendly lady of whose name i never got around to ask (sorry about that) who gave us a map of the area and answered any questions we had. all the staff tried real hard to help us. the hostel itself is in the best location- just doors down from the mei mei and mekong cafes (who can help you with any other travel questions and arrange services) and just a very nice area of jinghong. the rooms were very nice and new, great beds and showers and we also had a great large balcony/deck complete with sitting area to walk out onto from our room to watch jinghong life go by. but for it being such a new hostel there were a few things that could be improved upon- or maybe finished- in the rooms before guests arrive. there were tiles in the bathroom coming apart, the shower drain didn't drain, some lamps didn't have lightbulbs, and just some all-around finishing touches in the room, bathroom and patio area were needed. i think if the owner takes these issues to heart, inspects each room and finishes the work to quality standards, they will have the best hostel in jinghong and a successful business for years to come.
