"I went here based on others reviews, after a resort that was small-medium sized, by a nice stretch of beach, quiet yet professional."

My husband and I stayed at Melati for 5 nights on our Honeymoon in February 2013. The resort was so much more than what we expected. We were both so happy to have such a beautiful place to relax and wind down from the hectic planning of our Wedding. We were so pleased with the entire stay that we are determined to make Melati a regular destination. After a long string of flights from Australia to Koh Samui, it was great to be picked up from the airport by the resorts limousine service. We were so jet lagged and sick of being in transit, it was nice to be greeted by the friendly driver of a very new Landcruiser complete with icy cold towels and cold water (sooo nice on such a hot day). On arrival at the resort, we were greeted with many smiling faces and beautiful surroundings. Every inch of the resort is breathtaking! We were taken over to the lounge area in the alfresco style reception where we were given more icy cold towels along with delicious homemade iced tea (I have no idea what flavour it was but it was amazing! Please let me know if anybody else does!!!). Our room was the Pool Villa & was really awesome. The photos on the websites don’t even do this resort justice. Everything about it feels relaxing, luxurious & happy! My very favourite part of Melati would have to be the gardens and decore. Everything is so well thought out and it creates the best atmosphere. The restaurants are designed so nicely and the service and food quality are second to none! Loved the swim up bar and the view from it was great! I can honestly say that Melati Beach Resort is by far the best place I have ever stayed!!!!
Beautiful location and lovely resort!!”
My husband and i stayed here for our ten year anniversary and it turned out to be everything we wanted in a resort for a relaxing romantic get away. From the rooms, the location, the restaurants, the staff and the resort itself it was perfect. Consider what you want from your time in Koh Samui and if its shopping, bars, night life and your not prepared to travel via taxi or resort transport every where I would suggest stay somewhere else. The location of the Melati in Thongson Bay is perfectly isolated for relaxing, unwinding and enjoying the beautiful views, the bay and the resort. The restaurants are both superb and reasonably priced for a 5 star resort. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the resort grounds are well maintained. All round a fantastic resort in an even more fantastic location.
Stunning Restaurant with view of a Postcard Poolside setting”
Travelling home from a family re-union in the Uk with my son & didn't regret a Koh Samui stopover for a few nights on our way home. We spent the 1st night lower on the island at Lamai and the last 2 at Melati Resort. We weren't disappointed to see our room at Melati. The bathroom and shower were huge and the lounge decor was classy. Staff usually arrived very quickly with water, transportation and pillow requests. We arrived at Melati feeling quite exhausted and unfortunately slept right through our 1st paid breakfast-(which on request, couldn't be transferred) On the 2nd morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast & stunning view of the pool and neighbouring island. It was hot and humid during our October trip to Koh Samui & there was quite a lot of walking around this huge resort however reception would provide a cart to meet us at our room on request. On our 2nd day we had our dinner at the Poolside "View" restaurant & the food was delicous but a tad pricey for food & drinks.
Dear Debra, Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your experience and especially highlighting the service you have received from our staff. We are happy to know about your pleasant breakfast experience. We believe that a big bountiful breakfast is the best way to begin your day! We’re so glad you liked it. May we take this opportunity to say that we look forward to welcoming you back to Melati Beach Resort & Spa in the future. Sunny regards Yannapol Malailek / Room Division Manager
Amazing Resort! Perfect Honeymoon”
From the moment we were picked up by the airport we knew this was going to be an amazing resort. The staff at Melati really make the resort. They are so friendly and will do anything to help you. They make you feel like you are apart of their family and Melati really started to feel like home. We got upgraded beacuse it was out honeymoon and they treated us like we were VIP's! Rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean... Just perfect! The pool/pool bar was awesome. We spent most of our time there drinking, eating, swimming and listening to the music they have by the pool. One let down would have to be the Beauty Spa, a little over rated. There prices are like normal resort spas, however, i didnt feel as though it was worth it. Overall a fabulous experience and we will be back again!
We spend three days in Melati. It's our second time to be here. First was our honeymoon, and this time with our 11-month-old daughter. Everything is just perfect! We didn't ask for babybed before, but they just prepared for us without asking! Very sweet Melati is definitely one of the best resort in Koh Samui, we'll come back soon!
Perfect for our Honetmoon”
We chose the Melati Beach Resort for our honeymoon and were so pleased that we did. Everything was perfect, the Villa was roomy and spotlessly clean and it was heavenly to be able to jump in the pool first thing in the morning without fear of worrying what I looked like! The staff at the resort are typical of the Thai people - they were always ready with a smile and catered to our every whim, being courteous all of the time. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Melati to anyone, especially if you are thinking of staying for a special occasion.
Melati is a great place to stay for a peaceful and indulgent holiday on Koh Samui. We came to the Melati for a wedding and everything was wonderful. The staff were exceptionally helpful and willing to assist with anything that was needed. The hotel rooms were great, as was the food, drinks etc. Would definitely return.
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Overall we enjoyed our stay at Melati Beach Resort. The staff were friendly, there is a kids club with activities, swim up bar with happy hour 3 times daily, the breakfast was good and lunch and dinners delicious. Beautiful private beach and spa. The rooms were clean and large. The only downside is the location of the Resort is a bit far from anything and you cannot walk.
private beach, lukury, excellent service”
The hotel is very beautiful. The service is very good. All clerks are very nice & helpful. The hotel have buggy to service you at anytime you need so you don't need to worry how far your place is. A private beach is wonderful. Breakfast was good & varieties. My mother used a wheelchair so they've change our villa from Family Pool Villa Suite to the president suite pool villa which more closer to the beach & the view restaurant. The villa has luxury decorations and very comfortable. They have many facilities for you to choose by their schedules. It's a quiet place & filled with flowers. You can touch the nature & smell the fragrances from many tropical flowers everywhere you are in Melati. Mostly are jasmine which i love its smell so much. made me relax & peaceful. It was very impressive staying at Melati. I wish to come back again.
great location but a little bit isolated”
we stayed at the melati to attend the wedding of our nephew who was married on the beachfront at the melati. we loved our time there. we stayed in a grand deluxe room which included breakfast. the room was spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. the staff at the melati are probably its best asset. they are incredibly friendly, courteous, and helpful. we particularly enjoyed the buffet breakfast, especially the freshly squeezed juice. also enjoyed the poolside happy hour and the fine selection of cocktails. internet connection via wifi was available at no charge. the only downside to the melati is that it's a bit isolated (although some may view this as an advantage!)and takes 20 minutes to get into town. in fairness, they provide a regular shuttle service. i would recommend the melati without hesitation.
Beautiful resort, nice private beach and views”
We loved our stay at the Melati beach resort. The staff was very helpful. We could have spent a lot more time on the resort itself, but we ventured off on several of the tours, which were also fun. The hotel staff was very accomodating setting up all our tour reservations and providing towels and transportation. The tour prices were reasonable and fun.
Nice hotel but sea is not clear and full of rocks and seaweeds”
We stayed in a grand deluxe villa. It was large enough and clean. Breakfast was excellent with wide range of selection. The food in the resort’s restaurants are a bit pricy for Thailand but really delicious. There is another restaurant next to the resort much cheaper but the taste is not comparable. Resort’s spa was good and cheaper at the pool side. There are alternative massage facilities with better prices at the beach but again the service is not as good. The beach is nice but not private. There are villas and bungalows at the beach. However there weren’t many people so we weren’t disturbed. The worst side of the resort was the sea. It is sandy but there are lots of small rocks. Since the water is shallow you keep hitting your feet on them. Seaweeds don’t allow you to swim to the deep waters. Pool is nice but we didn’t prefer to use it. Need to mention about the mosquitos. Overall the resort is nice, service is good and the staff is great but there are much better hotels.
Amazingly Relaxing Retreat”
Having stayed in Samui more than 10 times, we chose a location away from the normal tourist traps. Melati is away from the hustle and bustle of overdeveloped Chaweng Beach and a bit of an elegant & refined Oasis. Once we got settled in, we didn't want to leave. I definitely recommend a private dinner on the beach and the mountain bike tour to the big buddha! Amazing... Overall excellent value for Samui.
Great Hotel, Specious Rooms, A Bit Far From Center”
My family of 6 ( myself, hubby, 4 year old, 6 month old and my parents) stayed at Melati for 5 nights. We arrived around 1 pm and were greated with cold drinks, cold towels and flowers. We were taken care of by Ivan all through our visit. He was very professional and helpful with all of our requests. The hotel has lovely grounds, lots of trees, flowers, butterflies and even a waterfall! We chose the garden view rooms on the second floor (because of the bathtub on the balcony) and were not dissapointed. The rooms were specious and interconnected - perfect for your family. The breakfast was nice, lots to choose from. I would suggest, however, to have the pancakes and waffles made fresh just like omletes, instead of making a bunch and keeping them at the buffet over a steam. It makes both pancakes and waffles lose its taste. One more thing that I found strange was that capuchino or latte during breakfast was for extra charge. Before melati we stayed in Sareeraya and no matter what I asked for was brought without any extra charge (even waffles with icecream). Just a tip for the hotel itself. The view of the restaurant during breakfast is breathe-taking. Gorgeous view of the ocean and the nebouring island - Phangan. The pool is nice, lots of space. There is jacuzzi, pool bar, kids pool. Kids club is right next to the pool, so while you are enjoying your sun, your kids can enjoy the club and still be very close to you. I felt the need for more sunbeds around the pool, especially with people reserving seats before going to breakfast. The hotel is a bit far from the center. There is a shuttle, but it isn't free (baht per person) and only twice a day. You can get a cab. Hotel food is expensive but quite tasty. There is a restaurant right next to Melati (along the beach) where the food is nice and prices are much lower. Overall, our stay was very pleasant. My daughter loved the pool and the kids club. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Simply the best relaxing break we've ever had”
we needed somewhere where we could totally relax and rest, and the melati resort, through its wonderful staff and management, was perfect. excellent spa facilities, fantastic infinity pool and bar, top quality food and resort restaurants. we could do as little or as much as we wanted - the ideal resort for pampering and relaxing. thank you to all the staff and management for giving us the holiday we really needed.
Very cool but a bit isolated”
The resort is awesome and the staff was very nice. The beach itself is not the best one, a bit rocky and quite small. The overall experience was great but once we arrived in Samui we saw better resort at a lower price and a better location. If you like a quite holiday in an isolated part of the island Melati is your resort. If you prefer to have a wider sandy beach and a better choice in terms of local restaurants and bars this is not the best choice.
Delightful and exotic resort!”
I absolutely loved my stay at Melati resort!! The garden was incredible, the villa, absolutely fabulous and had two swimming pools and the beach so serence and beautiful!! Loved the thai food at their Kan Sak Tong restaurant and it is a beautiful resort. Delighted with the surprises that the chef gives every night with rice cake snacks that respresent theme and color. It is quite secluded resort, and perfect for those who like to relax at the resort most of the time.
Great value for your money!”
We stayed 2 nights here and 3 nights at a cheap bungalow on the beach. Should have just stayed at Melati the whole time since it was such a great hotel for the price you pay! The beach and pool were beautiful, and the staff was super attentive and quick to get us drinks. The villa rooms were extremely spacious and well maintained. The View restaurant at the pool had a lovely outlook over the beach with great offerings between a Thai and Western menu.
High privacy hotel with excellent service”
the staffs here are very nice, and the hotel is thai style resort with beach, spa, pool bar, room is comfortable. the pool is near the beach can see the nice sea view and there is bar next to the pool,it's so relaxing when we stayed here. spa & massage service is very good at all! have a very good experience in this hotel. the hotel isn't close to chaweng beach, but it's better to stay closer, because it's quiet and easy to go fishman village what the place i think it's better than chaweng. if you want to go chaweng, only takes 15 mins(dependence on what transportation you take).
Beautiful private beach!”
We absoultely loved our stay at the Melati beach resort. Very nice, peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very accomodating for everything from extending our stay to setting us up with tours. They gave us some great recommendations for restaurants and night life. We loved the beautiful private beach and enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner with sweeping views of the beach and the sea.
