NIce and perfect stay”
This hotel is located in central berling location close all the attraction places, rent a bike basically you can go everywhere. Our room is facing river view as provided you a very good start every moning. shop around the hotel also restaurants and bar. Be aware no free WIFI, you have to pay if you like to get on line.
Conveniently located and great value”
Excellent. we stayed here prior to joining a tour and found it well positioned for transport, shopping and restaurants. The standard is comparable to the best branded hotels and our price was much cheaper.
Good hotel, location and value for money”
This hotel was good and 4 stars rated and surprisingly very reasonable price. Just that the package that I booked was without breakfast but that's fine as it's very near to main train station and a lot of good restaurants nearby. If I ever come back to Berlin, I will mostly stay here again.
great location,comfortable and clean”
This was a very comfortable hotel most of the staff were very good one guy on the front desk gave us unclear directions, but we worked it out.The breakfasts were very nice and the rooms comfortable and clean this is a great location and I would stay there again.
Good location and value”
Good location for sightseeing, it's right along Spree where you can catch boats for river tours and it's smack between the Reichtag and Museum Insel. Plenty of shopping along Friedrichstrase and Unter den Linden as well. Paid 20 Euro for taxi from Tegel airport. Left via train from the main station witch is only 5 min away with a cab. Got a great room with view over the Spree. Good buffet breakfast. All and all very happy with the stay.
Another lovely visit”
This was our second visit. We chose the Melia Hotel, because it has comfortable, very clean rooms, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is freshly prepared with a variety of foods for all tastes. It is in walking distance from several Christmas Markets and close to the train station Friedrichstrasse. We had bought the travel ticket 'Berlin Welcome Card' at the airport and this way could jump on and of trains to go all over town like to Potsdam, the Pfauen Insel and the 'Gardens of the World'.
My Partner and I decided to head to Berlin for the Christmas markets (highly recommended). The hotel staff were perfect, always on hand to help and very good with language barriers. The view over the river with the Juliette balcony doors added a little something extra to our trip. I certainly would visit The Malia Hotel again on our next trip to berlin!!
First timer, but great impression”
first time in Berlin, excellent hotel, very close to Tube and Train stations, located well for many of the sights and close enough to travel to the others without any hassle. No kettle or irons in the room however, not many Brits will be pleased about that! Otherwise cannot fault the whole Melia hotel experience. I'd definitely recommend and return.
Staff were very helpful, and their English was brilliant. The best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Everything was very clean and well looked after, and the location was amazing - never more than a 20 minute walk from anywhere we wanted to go!! Perfection!
The location is almost impossible to beat. The hotel is modern, very clean, and comfortable. The staff we encountered were all very professional and attentive. Breakfast was very good. Our only (minor) complaints were the street noise (because I like to sleep with the window open), and also wish the room staff had provided new coffee capsules each day for our in-room coffee maker.
Great location, nice spacious room”
Would definitely recommend staying here, the only con was that there's a limitation to free wifi usage (2 devices, 500mb?), and you have to log in each time you use it, which was quite annoying. But overall the hotel is top notch.
Hotel is amazing on so many levels. Rooms are big, spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had, so much to choose from. Staff are extremely helpful and location is great with a 5 minute walk to the station and some of Berlin's attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
When bookings are made to stay at the Melia,, especially by people from overseas, it would be wise to ask these guests what their bedding requirements are, and for the hotel to accomodate these requests on the day the guest arrives. Many people around the world do not like or use Doonas. If I were to use the Melia again, I would want a top and bottom sheet and blankets to suit ( depending on the time of year, possibly one thin one in milder weather and up to three in mid winter). When I asked for blankets, the staff indicated a total degree of ignorance as to what a blanket is, and we had to settle for a thin single doona, which was not at all satisfactory. A good nights sleep is very important, especially when sleeping in a strange bed, so all attempts must be made to make this possible. It must be obvious that a guest who sleeps well will always return. The matress was very good A wider variety of pillows for selection would also be very sensible, e.g. being able to select hardness and thickness. Room size was good and bathroom good, and all other facilities as indicated above
Great location ”
This hotel met and exceeded our expectations. Now for the negative: Agoda booked our stay through booking dot com and a BIG confusion on which type of room we ordered. Agoda confirmed our choice to a "Level" room with all the perks, upon check-in booking dot com had changed our room type to "Standard" no perks. Both companies need to get their crap together when one hands a booking off to another, lost in translation somewhere. The only saving grace was that the HOTEL staff took care of us, not Agoda or booking dot com. Probably won't use either service ever again !!
Best location in Berlin ”
Fantastic hotel. Location perfect for all sights with the train station and underground opposite. This hotel is the quitest I've ever experienced- we were opposite the lifts and there was no noise whatsoever. I can only suggest 2 slight improvements ; to provide tea / coffee facilities in the room & we weren't able to sit in the bar area one evening as the sofa area was reserved. Only seating option were the deck chairs so we went out instead. Overall one of the best hotels I gave stayed in. Would definitely stay here again.
Had an excellent 3 nights here. Stayed in a level room which was excellent value with food and drink served most of the day. The only negative of the hotel was having to pay for wifi. Excellent location only 5 minutes from station and 20 minutes max to Brandenburg gate.
Melia Berlin Hotel”
The hotel was as good an many 5* hotels I have stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the bath towels were the size of hand towels and a bit thin. It is very close the public transport system, which makes access to the city very convenient, and is a short walk from museum island.
Best night's sleep ”
It was great - one of the better hotels I've stayed at. It was spotlessly clean. The bed, bedding and pillows were all fantastic. The concierge was very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for him. We enjoyed the Tapas Bar, twice!
Long weekend to take in the city”
We very much liked the hotel for it's cleanliness, location and for it's room sizes. You are right next to the river so if you want a boat ride then you only need walk 20 metres. You are very close to the train station, trams and U bahn. A quick walk either up or down the street takes you past shops, restaurants and cafe's so if you have your parents with you like we did then they don't have to walk too far. You can easily walk to the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and Alexanderplatz from the hotel. The prices in the Tapas bar that joins onto the hotel are a little steep but you can't fault them for service. Would we come back to Berlin ? The answer is yes and we would choose the same hotel too
The only hitch was that the air conditioner was malfunctioning in the first room we checked into (sauna would be more appropriate). We were moved to another room once a technician confirmed that the air conditioner was broken
