DO NOT STAY THERE, under any circumstances ”
This hotel is just so, so , so, so bad. It’s incredible. I normally do not write reviews, because I’m very easy going, and easily satisfied. After all, when you’re on holiday, life is sweet and little hick-ups really don’t bother me that much. But after staying @ the Melia Da Nang, I just had to warn others… If you have the same experience as us, here’s how it would go: First you book your room 3 months ahead, then they tell you a month before your stay that they are overbooked so you can bugger off to the hotel next door, which they will kindly book for you at the same rate, even though it’s 100 bucks cheaper… So after many emails complaining, you finally get the room that you booked 3 months ago You arrive at 2pm, and they tell you that your room will be ready in 15 minutes, which is great cos you have a 4yr old and a 10mth old baby with you, so you go have lunch and come back an hour later, and they tell you that your room will be ready in 15 minutes…. Errrrr what? “No no sir, you are wrong, we told you the room will be ready in fifty minutes, not fifteen”. Hmmmm ok, I’m relaxed, no biggie, whatever, thanks guys, we’ll wait and get the room when it’s ready. Baby cot inside like we asked? Nope. Extra bed inside like we asked? Nope… So you go to reception again to get these installed. Wait an hour, then go ask again. Wait another hour, then go ask a third time…. And an hour later you finally get them. It is now 6pm… You try to go to sleep, but they light up your front porch with super bright lights, which you cannot turn off. So you ask reception how to turn them off: they need an engineer to come round to do it, tomorrow… Thanks guys. So you just go outside yourself, round the back of your room and find some dirty old switch that did the trick. Must be some kind of engineer they need to do this… In the morning you meet your friends who arrived at 9pm, only to be told that their room was not ready either, so they've had to wait 1 hour!! How is that even possi

Extremely friendly and helpful staff”
Impeccable service. Nice quiet place away from the hustle. fantastic place to relax and chill. Front desk staff came out immediately to help us when taxi driver wanted to charge us more than he should. Restaurant went extra mile to accommodate us when we were a little late for dinner and close to their closing time. The afternoon tea and pre-dinner snacks and drinks were superb! Rooms are nicely decorated and very pleasant. We love our stay.

Great swimming pool”
Pros 1. I was upgraded to levels room and there is an exclusive pool for levels. Both pool are big, clean and well maintained. 2. Room is spacious and clean, would be good if there is one more rubbish bin. 3. Spa and restaurant are great. 4. Staff are cheerful and helpful Cons. 1. English of staff for guest service could be improved.

Basic but good value resort”
Melia is a good value choice along the beachfront in Danang. It is among those high price big chain resorts such as Pullman, Crown, Furama, etc. So, for a fraction of the price you pay to expensive hotels, you enjoy the same view, beach, sun and cheerful atmosphere. I am happy to spend my money wisely. The decoration and rooms are kind of basic and nothing fancy. But it is very clean and adequate. The swimming pool is standard length and very nice. Spa is good too. The hotel offered 30% off spa service for first day stay but they didn't tell us clearly. We got that information from another fellow guest. Food in restaurants are good too. 20 minutes taxi will get you everywhere from airport to downtown. Hotel staff provided excellent service. Overall, I am delighted to recommend this resort.
