"This is a charming boutique hotel. The exquisite two-story villas mimic the lumbungs in the rice patties. The infinity pool is fed by the hot springs and does seem to go on for infinity! Snorkeling near Menjangan Island was a terrific day trip, well worth the price."

"...this is it! Bali is short on good beaches, and Menjangan Dynasty has one of the few. Yes, it has coral bits in the sand, but it is about as good as it gets on Bali - and it is safely swimmable! The hotel is delightful, and the staff wonderfully accommodating. I was not happy with my tent the first night, and was in one much more to my liking before noon the next day. The Swim Center will arrange a snorkeling trip to Menjangan Island and when it is good (meaning plastic-free) it is indeed very, very good. In fact, I think it is the best snorkeling on Bali. I will stay there again!"

"We travelled as a family of five, and stayed for four nights in two courtyard villas, one of them with private pool. The courtyards are surrounded by a wall and a locked private entrance door, which means total privacy; you can even skinny-dip if you wish, without bothering anyone. We went in February, which is low season in Bali (in spite of the Chinese new year). Menjangan is quite remote, about 4,5 hours drive from Denpasar (Google maps says 2:45 but don't be fooled... Balinese traffic), which is actually why we chose this place. Out of the way from the hustle and bustle and away from people who harass tourists on the beach etc... We'd been looking forward to the total silence and peace of mind - But the homepage didn't say that the hotel is sat next to a temple/ceremony place where the locals perform their public ceremonies. The night we arrived, there was some kind of inauguration of a new temple, with extremely loud local music, and they were going to carry on until 4 am. Note: the balinese local music has no resemblance at all to what westerners call music, so it was unbearable... we soon decided to move to another hotel. Fortunately, we didn't. The management upgraded us to the courtyard villas, which were located further away from the ceremony place. We are very happy that we did not miss out on staying in this lovely hotel, and wish that we could have stayed longer."

"Briefly put, this is a wonderful place. We were delighted from the minute we arrived to the moment we left. Why? In a nutshell...attention to detail, attention to our needs, friendly and helpful staff, quick response to questions, great food (seriously, would have loved to have met the chef(s)), great ambiance, staff attitudes - everyone seemed as if they really liked working there and really were glad we were with them, excellent room service, extras supplied in case we needed them were more than I've seen in other places, extra touches (from the welcome tea and spring rolls when we arrived to the two wrapped with a bow chocolate brownie bites in a woven basket we found sitting on our bed on the last evening), etc. Seriously, the Menjangan was everything we'd hoped fore. We wanted a place for a much needed rest with some interesting things to do as well. We wanted to go snorkeling. We ended up with a massage, snorkeling and the sunset horseback riding. Loved our guide for snorkeling - he made sure we saw the moray eel peeking out of the coral and the sea turtle swimming slowly through the water and the blue star fish clinging to the side of the crevice we swam over. The horseback riding got us into the forest which we wanted to do and gave us a view of the sunset from a part of the beach we wouldn't have otherwise had access to. The Balinese massage was one of the best we've had. So, seriously, would go back again and would recommend this to friends. Thank you to the Menjangan staff for making this a very special break for us."

"- the staff are friendly - the food are OK (this is a remote area), especially their croissant - the best thing to do is we can do snorkeling just around the pier, and we can see lots of fishes and schooling fish - the other thing to do is just relax on the balcony or even the beach and see many of deers, black monkey & grey monkey"

"After driving for about 4 hours from seminyak, we finally arrived at Plataran Menjangan and were rewarded with breathtaking surroundings and amazing environment with lots of wild deers and monkeys roaming around freely. The check in process was very smooth with attentive and hospitable staff who proceeded to cart us to our forest villa and show the resorts’ facilities. The views from the octagon were simply stunning with their infinity pool overlooking the mangroves and the bay beyond. The forest villa we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous, typical to all the Plataran properties. However we were not so keen on the semi-open bathroom concept, but this is only a personal preference. We like our bathrooms to be enclosed, clean and sterile. Especially being out in the middle of the forest, and when it rained heavily on the day we arrived, rainwater poured into the bathroom soaking all our towels and made the bathroom floor very dirty. The next morning we found two grey monkeys sitting in our bathtub which surprised us somewhat. Overall we loved our stay here and would definitely return someday. Oh and the food was scrumptious from breakfast lunch and dinner! Overall we really enjoyed our stay here as we got to experience a different side of Bali which was simply magical! Recommended!!"

"We can highly recommend yudas homestay. Yuda, an awesome friendly guy, built 5 very new bungalows in his calm garden, 100m beside the street. The bungalows and especially the garden are very clean and beautiful. Mayb the nicest homestay we have ever seen in indonesia, and we have been to bali more than 6 months all in all. There is also a small kitchen to boil tea and coffee and other things. There is also as much water as you can drink included. Also, the area around is very nice and not overcrowded - menjangan island is awesome for snorkeling. The trips are organized by yuda who gives you a good price. Its not cheaper if you go to the harbour yourself. The price is about 400-600 p.p. if you share a boat with others, but its not because of yuda or his company. Its because of the national parc entrance fee. We have been on yudas homestay twice now, and we are sure to come back. Thank you yuda, Greetings from ben and mel!"

"We really appreciate to Made Taro for being very professional. He contacted us the day we checked in to make sure our arrival time at Menjangan. We checked in at late night and got our room well prepared. Made Taro greet us by himself, then i asked him if he could arrange my snorkeling trip for the next morning (i'm not sure it's still available because it's already late night) but he said he could (he gave us a good deal also). The cons are only the location which hard to find (google maps gave us wrong directions and also the dirty rocky road was very narrow) and the breakfast was only light snack and tea/coffee. But for less than $20 we paid, it's worth the money."
