The Mercer House Boria Bcn can best be described as a must-see hotel. Opened in 2005, this hotel is housed in a small palace from the 18th century. Meticulous effort has been made to preserve the historic features of the building, especially its gorgeous exterior. The 11 immaculate lofts, rooms, and suites are elegantly decorated with refined taste and feature carpeting and hardwood floors, paintings, large dining rooms, and exposed wooden ceiling beams. Everything inside is extremely modern and meant to cater to your every need. The terrace on the top of the building provides a great view of the Barcelona Cathedral, the Santa Maria del Mar Church, and the Mediterranean Sea. If you are looking for something with a unique character combining history and modern comforts, the Mercer House Boria Bcn will exceed all your expectations.

Very good in general. Only problems we had having a family was the bathroon: It was small; no extractor, no lock on the door and when shower got steamed up it was diffcile to open the shower door from inside.
Fantastic location - worth a stay!”
The hotel is conveniently located near a metro station in the Gothic Quarters, with tons of amenities and restaurants around. The hotel was nice enough to let us check in early and even gave us a free upgrade to a loft room. The space in the room is amazing, but much room for design in the loft area which was completely empty! Cleanliness in the room was sub-par, mostly because of the many dust bunnies at the side of the bed! Still worth another stay because of the great location
Spacious apartment with a good location”
The apartment was just 2-3mins walk from the nearest station (Jaume I Station) and the neighborhood had a few shopping alleys. The main door was attended to by a staff, so there was once when she was serving other guests in the room and we had to wait outside for quite some time.
Nice hotel with big room”
Nice staff and very helpful .. large room with king bed and 2 twin bed
Fantastic stay, were were upgraded without request, intimate breakfast area, with the right staff it was lovely however there was a female chief who was rude abrupt and made us feel very uncomfortable, in such a small area the uncomfortable feeling spread to all customers
We are repeat visitors and will return again, amazing staff”
We have stayed in three different rooms and enjoyed all of them. The lower smaller rooms are darker but perfect for sleeping, the two upper loft rooms were very spacious and well appointed with kitchenettes. All had the same comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we would love to return.
Great location ”
Staff was helpful and location was central.
Brilliant hotel, staff friendly and very helpful with what the best ways to get around the city and what to do were. Would stay again if we go back
Lovely room wish we had more time in Barcelona ”
Location and room settings
More cable service ”
We enjoyed our room the smells from street was very bad
Convienent, clean, and well suited for parent(s) with three teens”
We stayed in the Mercer House Boria for 2 nights as a stop over in Barcelona. The suite was perfect with excellent air conditioning, a nice sitting area, and two separate sleeping spaces. It gave our family enough space to spread out, a needed break after traveling long hours together. The residence was clean, the staff helpful and friendly, and walking distance to plenty of great sites and restaurants. From this locale, you can easily walk to La Rambla, the History of Barcelona Musuem, the Cathedral, and many shops in the Gothic District. I thought hot water was a problem (I took several very cold showers), but learned from my children that I was turning the tap the wrong way! I should have asked! Breakfast was convienent and had enough variety to satisfy all, to include one vegan teen.
Fantastic boutique hotel with amazing staff”
I settled on Mercer House because I loved the location. Having lived in Barcelona I knew this was exactly where I wanted to stay. What turned this into the perfect stay was the amazing staff, th beautiful large & spacious accommodation & the delicious breakfast. I will continue to return to Mercer House.
Fantastic location for exploring Barcelona. Excellent, comfortable room. It was quiet despite being in the heart of el Born. The breakfast was high quality and delicious.
Lovely boutique hotel. Fantastic breakfast! Amazing location in Gothic Quarter. We booked a “superior” room but it was small and basic. It was very noisy at night - but the location is worth it and earplugs worked a treat. Staff were all wonderful.
The hotel and the staff Was great. I didnt recommend this neighborhood is very dangerous at night. The first Day someone steal my phone near the hotel.
Great location great staff”
Very centralized location. Close to sight seeing spots, shops and restaurants. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean but some facilities in the room are slightly broken. Highly recommend.
Recommendable accommodation in Barcelona”
1. Great location for tourists. Many restaurants and shops around. 2. Spacious room. 3. Some facilities in the room are broken e.g. kitchen cupboard. 4. Super friendly and helpful staff. My flight was delayed and I arrived 3 am in the morning. I called before hand and the staff reassured me that the guard will get the door and key would be ready. 5. Super friendly staff were willing to provide me with all information. 6. Hotel is located in a lane but taxi can still stop at the door.
Good Place to stay”
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Great location & Enjoyable stay”
We stayed here for a couple of days before a cruise and would stay here again. If you want to stay in the Gothic Quarter, you couldn't have a better location. Staff was helpful and pleasant. With only a short stay we didn't utilize the kitchen in our room, but if we would if we were to stay longer. Our room and bed were comfortable. The only thing missing was the lighting (a few more lights would be great). Breakfast is included. An absolutely delightful buffet spread, European style. But the fabulous chef will also cook eggs to order (and they were excellent). Definitely check out the Mercer House for your next visit to Barcelona!
