Everything you need within walking distance!”

Location, free and fast wifi in room, price

The hotel is a bit inconspicuous and hard to find initially - an easier way to find the hotel is to look for the restaurant with a giant crab at the entrance - Mercure Hotel directly faces the giant crab. Location cannot be better. Many sightseeing spots within walking distance such as Odori Park, Sapporo TV Tower, Sapporo Clock Tower, Nijo Market, Nakajima Park. Many places to shop nearby such as La Filer (where there is a supermarket at the basement - very useful), Tanukikoji, a huge DAISO (100-yen shop) and the underground shopping arcade starting from Susukino station. Plenty to eat around the hotel, some eateries open 24 hours. Easy access to public transport: Susukino station a short walk away, airport limousine bus-stop just across the road. There is a Lawson convenience store just beside the hotel. There is also a Sapporo Drug Store which opens till 3am nearby in case you need medication. WIFI in the room is the best I have experienced in any hotel - very fast and every room has a unique connection point. If you drive, the carpark is right next to the hotel entrance and costs 1200yen per day.

Excellent location and value”

Location, value, great room

We stayed at Mercure for 4 nights. The staff were very friendly, both local staff and French managers. The location is fantastic - Susukino is the place for dining / nightlife in Sapporo. Excellent retsaurants and bars just around the corner. Airport bus stop 3 min walk from the hotel and two subway stations are 1-2 min walk away. 10 min walk from the famous seafood marker and the ramen alley. The room was very very clean, both the room and the bathroom were bigger than your usual Japanese room size, good amenities including charges for smart phones and hi speed free wi fi. We got a fantastic deal on agoda and were quire surprised with what a great value we got for the price. Would definetely stay again if in Sapporo and recommend to friends. Room tip: ask for a higer floor for a view of Sapporo. And try cocktails at the Elecric Sheep Bar 2 min walk from the hotel.

Sapporo Mercure”

Clean, beautiful contemporary interior
Small check in counter, have to wait a while especially when there a group check in

Sapporo Mercure is very well situated along Susukino area, a area full of nice shopping, good food and vibrant night life. It just 1 minute walk from the Metro after exit right from the ground floor lift, the hotel lobby is on the fourth floor. You can basically travel around Sapporo with it fast and efficient train service although you have to get use to it complex intertwine line service. The horel is surround by many great and delicious restaurant, just check with the front desk and they will direct you to all kind of Japanese food that you are carving for. I had the best ramen recommended by the staff and it just like 10 mins walk from the hotel. I like the room's beautifully, classy and chick decorate. Splash of red colour mixed with black wall paint make it warm contrast to the snowy, sub zero degree temperature outside. The in house video on demand was great with its big LCD tv, you need to buy a VOD card at the drink dispensary machine at 1000 yen and you can enjoy all the movies from 2pm to the next morning 11am. Especially ideal for those who are tired from all the shopping, dinning and partying. The room amenity is sufficient for a four star hotel with it reasonably price and it come with with internet service. I enjoy my stay in Mercure very much.

Pleasent Stay”

Helpful english speaking staffs, fast internet and very near to subway and eating places.

I and my friends stayed here for 5 nights and we had a pleasant stay. It's 1 minute walking distance away from Hosui Susukino subway station (blue line) which is 2 stations away from JR Sapporo station. The problem was we couldn't find lift/escalator at Hosui Susukino subway station so we took stairs and carried our heavy luggages. It's better to go to Susukino subway station (green line). It's about the same distance (just a little bit further). The hotel is very near to souvenir shop which sells all the popular snacks, the famous ramen yokocho and other eating places. It was very crowded on friday night because there are many bars and pubs around there. Lawson mini market just steps away from the hotel. We also booked a day tour to Furano and Lake Toya and this hotel is not the meeting point where the tour travel picks up the guests. Most hotel bathrooms in Japan are quite small. Our bathroom is quite large and the room is very clean. What I can say that the Mercure hotel in Sapporo is well maintained compared to other Mercure hotels in other countries. I was quite disappointed because it didn't provide a free mineral bottles (not even a welcome drink) in our room whereas other hotels which are small can give such service.

'Great location with wonderful service'”

'location, convenience, great service'

Mercure is 'The' hotel you should check in if you want to stay in Sapporo for a few days whether for business or leisure. It got wonderful location, just 2 mins walk from Susukino subway and 5 mins walk from underground shopping tunnel, which is opposite the hotel near MacDonald,it's links all the way to Sapporo JR main train station which is about 20 mins walking distance. I had fantastic experience during my stay in Mercure, the check in was fast and prompt with friendly front office staff. The concierge, next to the check in was very informative about area. They can be a great help to guide you on your stay in Sapporo whether it is on food, shopping or place of interest. The room is contemporary decorated and uses beautiful colour scheme. I like the cleanliness, simple but yet comfortable setting. The breakfast is also delicious and offer many variety .

Wonderful hotel experience!”

Excellent location - right in the heart of Susukino.

We stayed at the Mercure Hotel for 2 nights and found it to be one of the best hotel experiences we've had in Japan so far! Out room (standard queen) was fantastic - very clean and sophistocated, with more than enough room to move about comfortably (even with a decent amount of luggage cluttering the place). Also featured a nice, roomy bathroom and a decent amount of closet space. The hotel has a very stylish, modern feel to it and we found the staff to be extremely helpful and friendly (with very good English speaking skills). In terms of location, you could hardly do better. It's right in the heart of Suskino and is within walking distance to countless restaurants, bars and shops, as well as a 15-20 minute walk to Odori park and Sapporo station. I would highly recommend this hotel - will most definitely be coming back next time I'm in Sapporo!

superb hotel in Sapporo”

beautiful, spacious room; convenient location
no cons

The Mercure Hotel in Sapporo is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are clean, modern, and spacious, and the staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. The location is excellent -- right in the midst of the Susukino neighborhood, which is bustling at night. There are many good restaurants within short walking distance, including a nice crab restaurant across the street. The prices may seem a little high at the crab restaurant, but it is totally worth it. There are also several convenience stores within a one block radius from the hotel, where one can buy large and small bottles of water, snacks, and other essentials. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The Mercure Hotel Sapporo was one of our trip highlights. The room was spacious enough for the four of us, the beds were plush and wonderfully comfortable and the service was fantastic. The Mercure Hotel is located conveniently downtown and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sapporo. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the rate was so economical that we wished we had scheduled another day to stay, into our agenda.

Large rooms by Japanese standards!”

Risght next to Susukino, good location

We had an extra day and chose Mercure because of a promotion rate. No regrets. After all the smallish rooms, it was good to stretch out in the Mercure. Odori park, the Tanuki-koji shopping street were all within walking distance. Most importantly, Daiso (100 yen shop) with like 6 floors of shopping were just 2 blocks away. Just opposite Mercure is Gyu-Kaku, for about Y4000 you get a 90 minute all you can eat table barbeque. Great value, if a little sinful. The hotel is easily accessible via the Susukino and Hosuisusukino subway station (the latter is slightly nearer). But we actually walked from Sapporo train station via the undeground pedestrian walkway. It was only 2 station or about 15 minutes walk. After checking out we took the free shuttle bus to the train station.

Location, excellent service, comfortable rooms

This is my second time staying with Mercure, Sapporo and the experience was just as wonderful as the first! The last time I stayed was in Dec 2010, 2 years back and the hotel condition had not deteriorated one bit. Rooms are spacious which is rare in Japan. Hotel staff are always friendly and helpful. Location is great! It is next to the train station but you hardly have to take the train because you can walk to everywhere. Which we did, even in winter with record snowfall this time of the year. An improvement over my last stay was that free wifi was provided to all guests! Excellent! Honestly, I really don't see myself staying anywhere else in Sapporo!
