Grand hotel with great service”
Mandalay hill resort has everything a traveller could want a refreshing pool to cool off after a morning sightseeing, clean and well maintained rooms, and very close to Mandalay hill and other attractions which can be visited by just a short walk. The mini bar is quite expensive but with vendors just outside the hotels gate why pay the hotels price. The best thing about Mandalay Hill is it takes Visa card the only hotel on our travels which did, so the cost of our dinner didn't eat away at our kyat all in all a very pleasant stay

the hotel is conveniently located next to mandalay hill and it would also be possible to walk to mandalay palace. it is fairly easy to get a jeep/ car and driver for a taxi ride/ day trip from outside the hotel (especially at the foot of mandalay hill). staff in the hotel are very welcoming and obliging and are willing to arrange day trips/evening shows, even so far as booking good seats for the marionettes, and other hotel bookings and flights for the the next leg of our trip. breakfast is fantastic as are all dining options. kipling bar is pleasant and pool is refreshing. although most places to eat are a taxi ride away it is still a nice place to be. the rooms are comfortable and well maintained by and large. a touch pricey, but market forces currently seem to dictate this. otherwise a good, comfortable experience. get your shoes cleaned for free at the end of the day.

An oasis in Mandalay”
The Mandalay Hill Resort was a pleasant suprise during our trip to Myanmar. The room was well decorated and maintained and had a great view of Mandalay Hill. The hotel had an impressive array of facilities and F&B options. Hotel staff were also vey helpful. The only aspects that some might disike are its location, which is some distance from the hustle and bustle of central Mandalay (lthough others, myself included, might consider this a plus), and the lack of a distinct local character. Overall, I woud definitely stay here again.

Brilliant Serenity Excellence”
I find it is very convenient to stay as I love quietness and off the town center. Now that Myanmar has grown up so fast. Every time I visit the country and towns. There are many new developments and sometime it causes so much noise. But at the Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel, it is located at the footstep of the Mandalay Hill Pagoda which is so beautiful even viewing it from afar. The hotel offers a fantastic tapas @ Kipling's cafe. I spent most of my time at the hotel and since the food they served are good with a reasonably price so I find it good for not having a chance to go out much. I was there for my skin treatment with the Sayagyi who is very famous for treatment of infectious skin. I also took the Swedish spa service. The therapist named Thida has a brilliant skill in massaging as it lifts off my jetlag from traveling too much like magic.

High-End Hotel at the foot of Mandalay Hill”
Facilities in Mandalay are not as modern or clean as in Europe or American so it is a relief to have a hotel like Mandalay Hill Resort to go to. Breakfast is generous and the choices myriad. It can compete with any 5-star hotel outside Myanmar but of course, the price warrants it. The best part was the location, at the foot of Mandalay Hill where one wakes up to the view of the temples on the hill and one is quite close to the beautiful ancient wall and moat that surrounds the old palace.

Surprisingly luxurious oasis with beautiful pool”
We had a short, but lovely, stay at the Mandalay Hill Resort Hotel. This is a full service hotel where one could stay a full week to relax and hang out by the pool without even seeing local sights. That said, it is located right next to Mandalay Hill if you want to walk or ride to the top and it is not far from the palace and fort, so it's also convenient for sightseeing. Beyond those areas, it's best to hire a car, but there aren't any hotels we could find that were closer to a majority of sights. This is an expensive hotel, but worth it for the quality and service.

Elegance with every step!”
My first night was greatly disturbed by local evening and late night (early morning) loud music at an unconnected party venue across the street. I was very quickly and pleasantly addressed and relocated far and away from any disturbance, surrounded in luxury accomodations typical at Mandalay Hill. Fine meals of every nature and international fare were only exceeded by the genuinely warm reception by the entire staff and management. Hotel ammenities and offerings seemed boundless and the visuals of the hotel are magnificent. If in Mandalay, make your stay at the Mandalay Hill or your senses will never forgive you! It was not a perfect stay; but as close as one can get. I will return at my first opportunity!!

Lovely stay in Mandalay.”
Myint Naing our barman from Kiplings bar at the Mandalay Hill Resort is wonderful, so friendly and helpful, all the staff have been more than helpful. Lovely setting and close to Mandalay Hill pagoda and the moat wall surrounding the Palace. ( don't bother visiting the Palace) . The rooms are clean but try to get a room facing Mandalay Hill and a corner room. Great place to stay whist visiting Mandalay.

Beyond Expectations”
We chose the Mandalay Hill Resort hoping it would evoke the grandeur of the Mandalay's history and it exceeding our expectations. We arrived in the evening to live music in the lobby and refreshing drinks provided. We were escorted to our rooms facing the hill and looked out the window to see the lovely lit pool. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the service was 5 star. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch on the back patio after a morning of touring. We enjoyed being slightly removed from the bustle of town. We would certainly choose to stay here again in the future.

Fantastic Hotel, clearly at the top-end. Nice room, refurbished, but can still see the old times. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Asked them to organize air tickets to Bagan and the managed it within a couple of hours. They really saved my trip as I wasn't able to book from abroad. Great breakfast and amazing pool facing Mandalay Hill. If your are in for a treat, this is the place in Mandalay. Also very good and reliable Internet, but not in the rooms. Food is reasonably priced for a hotel in this category. It comes highly recommended and will definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mercure Mandalay Hill. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great we really enjoyed the breakfast and the BBQ dinner. The pool was lovely but a bit cold, and the massage I had at the spa was very good. This was a lovely place to stay in Mandalay!

On the expensive side, but entirely worth it”
We had minor visa problems that delayed our arrival in Mandaly from the Kunming flight and threw all previous reservations out. I booked this through Agoda with an 'any-port-in-a-storm' mentality. We don't usually spend this much on hotels if we can help it. But the place is delightful, no doubt about it. The room was perfectly comfortable and dead quiet. The pool area is vast, lovely and comfortable, with lots of lounge chairs, and towels provided.. The staff could not be nicer. The breakfasts are buffet style and varied in their offerings. The 'culture show' in the evening that can either be seen on its own ($20) or with a buffet/barbecue ($40) is in a lovely setting, but is much the sort of touristic thing that you might expect: unexceptional but professionally executed, with no special hint of the boredom the performers must feel, having done this night after night after night, sometimes to a crowd numbering no more than a handful, who often do not applaud.. We thought that in the end we were very lucky to have wound up at this end of town for some of the most arresting sights (the 'world's biggest book,' for example) were easily within walking distance, as were several other temples and sites. You are at the very base of Mandalay Hill, of course, and that is for many a 'must see' sort of thing. Cheap, so-so little restaurants line the street approaching the place, if you want to stroll out for a bowl of noodles or the like.

Best hotel in Mandalay!”
This hotel was better than many brand name hotels we've stayed in around the world. The rooms are not decadent but they are certainly clean and comfortable. The property itself is quite pretty - especially the pool and bar area. The hotel is quiet (warning: some front facing rooms are next to a nearby disco which can be noisy at night) and right down the street from Mandalay Hill. The gym is updated and spacious so if you want more exercise than walking 10 miles a day climbing pagoda stairs, check it out. The restaurant food was varied (offering both buffet and a la carte menus) and you can get a decent cappuccino or latte here. What makes this property special is really the location. You cannot beat it and the surrounding local neighborhoods, temples and families. One recommendation: skip the nearby zoo. It's terribly sad.

A pleasure to arrive at the Mandalay Hill Resort. Bedrooms are large and comfortable, with a magnificent view of Mandalay Hill. An excellent international breakfast plus a Thai/Chinese restaurant on first floor. All staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The concierge service in the lobby can arrange transport and city tours.

Rainy season weekend”
So nice to be back in Mandalay, this time with my wife and adult step- daughter on their first visit to Myanmar. With its pool, spa and breakfast buffet the Hill Resort is the perfect base to explore Mandalay and around. We were very fortunate to have the rooms at the end of the corridor with corner views, one looking out over the Palace and the opposite one facing the Hill.

Perfect location and lovely resort”
Everything was so nice here. Fantastic view over Mandalay Hill from our room, comfortable bed, very good food and drinks. Clean and nice. Lovely to sit in the sofas with a nice view over the pool area at night. Extremely nice spa area with a luxurious villa. Very nice and helpful staff everywhere. We will dream of coming back! A short walk to many sights: Palace area, the world ´s largest book, Mandalay Hill and golf course. A very peaceful and nice area.

Great breakfast!”
this was my second stay at the hotel. the breakfast buffet is superb - the best i experienced on my trip to myanmar. the staff were incredibly helpful in organising a flight ticket for me, a motorbike tour with a guide and taxis to the airport. the room and services were of the standard one would expect of such a hotel, though the price higher than other countries in the region. unfortunately, hotels in myanmar will continue to be overpriced until the number of rooms outnumbers demand. the one down side of this hotel is it's location. although there are temples close by and it is very near the entrance to mandalay hill, which is well worth climbing the steps to, it is cut off from the centre of the city, restaurants and shops. getting taxis from the hotel is easy, if you ask, but getting transport back can be quite difficult.

International standard hotel but very pricey”
I find Mandalay hotels to be very very pricey in general. I booked Mandalay Hill Resort as it was on the average-low end of the cost of 4-5 star hotel category. This hotel is very popular with tour groups and they do operate quite efficiency. Front desk is fantastic and is very helpful in trying to get you settled / around the city. Rooms are smallish but acceptable. Breakfast was very good Location is on the northern side of the palace so it is quite a trek to most of the night life / restaurants (on the southernside) . By car it would be about 15 min drive. Not walkable.
