Hidden gem”

An old building that is in good shape, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Good view of the sea and clean pool for adults and kids. Food was OK too, less oil/grease would have been appreciated. In essence, my family loved Merlin Inn Mersing, we will definitely be back again...

Good place to stay before or after visiting Tioman Island”

A typical basic rural Asian hotel. Nothing fancy, though there is a swimming pool. Located about a mile outside Mersing Centre it is on the edge of town and very quiet. A good choice if you need to spend a night in Mersing because your transport arrangements do not tie in with the ferry times to Tioman. The taxi fare to the jetty was 10 or 12 Ringgits. In town taxis can be difficult to find, certainly later in the evening. It is always worth checking the bus station as some taxis wait there. Or make sure you have a phone number for a cab. I would certainly use the hotel again if needed when travelling to Tioman.

Very friendly and practical hotel!”

Mersing is an jumping off point for me to visit my customers in several islands. Which I had 3 individual nights, the manager Joey helped me to arrange transport to send me to jetty and pick me up back to hotel. Really big applause for her and her team. Sure will come back again!

Helpful and friendly staff”

The hotel is good value, set back from the road, clean with a nice pool. The staff were very friendly. They run free shuttles to take you into Mersing and went out of their way to be helpful.

A great stop over before ferry to Tioman”

A quiet and pleasant location just out of the hustle of Mersing. A good room with ac though we could not access the balcony. The staff were v helpful and organised a taxi for us to get to Jetty in the morning after breakfast.

It’s a nice place”

We were stranded in Mersing for one night and we decided to stay here. It’s a big hotel with a pool, which we didn’t use. The room was big and spacious and clean and the staff called a cab for us at around 6am the following morning. The one drawback for this place was the location. It’s not really that close to the downtown.

Value for money”

If you need a place to stay for a night at Mersing at a reasonable price, this is a good place. Dont expect too much though.

A pleasant surprise.”

We stayed overnight so we could catch the ferry to Tioman Island. Considering this was such a cheap hotel, I thought it was great. Rooms were spacious and quiet with a balcony. The pool was clean. The breakfast was delicious and had emough options for us. There is parking onsite. Location is away from main part of Mersing so you would need a car. But because of this, it is quiet and surrounded by nature. Staff were helpful. It is a little worn but you can see that it is well-cared for. We would stay here again. We really liked it.

Good hotel but a bit far from town”

This is a good hotel with good facilities. A very clean and large pool, large and clean rooms. It is a bit far from Mersing town if you are walking, but staff will provide free shuttle upon request. Beach is nearby. Hotel is far enough from the road to be quiet and comfortable. Plenty of parking behind hotel. Quick laundry service. Good food in restaurant and excellent service. Wifi is too weak in the room, but works well in lobby and restaurant. No elevator.

One night stay before trekking beautiful Mount Arong”

Staffs are friendly and helpful. Room are generally clean and smell less. Ample and safe parking space. Will be our first choice Resort in Mersing.

Fine for the night”

Stayed one night at the Mersing Merlin Hotel as a change from other hotels in Mersing especially as it had a pool. It was fine for the one night we stayed. Traditional style hotel, room a bit tired, pool fine though with numerous broken tiles in the bottem. Breakfast western style- just adequate. Very very quiet but we were travelling in Ramadan so not unexpected. I think the hotel staff were more surprised at seeing us! Didn't sample dinner. Good wifi.

A+ for cleanliness”

I had a 4D/3N stay at this hotel. Looking at the facade, i was initially unsure whether to book it or not as it seems old. But taken into acocunts all those positive comments, we decided tp try anyways. And we were not disappointed! The hotel is quite, located on a higher ground so that u can get to see the sea from afar. Hotel is old BUT has been refurbished. Basic facilities in the room but i appreciate that they provide Spritzer Mineral Water and Sunsilk Shampoo for guests. Even a 5star hotel would just provide a cheap drinking water. Bathroom was surprisingly clean and doesnt have any foul smell. Only drawback is that they serve ala carte American Breakfast daily. I had to eat the same thing everyday, and it is just upsetting. Other than that, i had a pleasant stay. Oh and staff are friendly and passionate in their job.

Great room price with great facilities”

The room was spacious and very clean although the decorations & furniture was a bit old-fashioned. All of the rooms got balcony, and mine got a pool view though. The receptionist with the name Sukma was very polite and helpful since i need to change the date of my stay for two times, and she helped me a lot. The swimming pool was big and satisfactory, the continental buffet breakfast was delicious and nice, add on price per person only RM 10 which is very worth it. Very recommended to stay here.

You get what you pay for. Staff is good. Hotel rooms are upto the mark. My rating 7/10. For Mersing has limited options this one is good...!!

I like the room. very clean and minimalist style. The hotel is antique but it smells new. Keep up the good work. The only one cons is the breakfast as they don't have buffet spread but they offered American breakfast set. To me it was OK because you can easily find your own breakfast near the beach area. With the price I paid for the room, it's value of money.

very delicious food, very cheap”

i really love their fried meehoon with perfectly cooked sunny side egg, creamy and milky curry mee with lots of dried tauhu, and the price is damn cheap!! my husband had fried rice and fried kuetiaw.. also very tasty! location is also strategic and quiet.. and very clean!! and a restaurant in front of this hotel is also cheap.. perfectly grilled fish!!

Nice old school hotel.. ”

Wise choice for money.. Quiet scenary.. Old school feels.. Easy parking.. Provide dine in service.. Just enought for basic hotel needs.. Not suitable for elders & handicap.. No rams & lift.. Its ok for me.. I just imagine how beautiful the sea view scenery long time ago from here (sea shore 100m from here.. It will be better if trees in front of my room are trimmed for a better view.. No complaint about room. A better house keeping & maintanance at front & back yard will make this hotel much better.. Tq sir..

Beyond Expectation”

Good place to stay and it is beyond my expectation with the room condition and service tendered. Breakfast portion is a bit small but overall I am happy with my stay. Nearby Pasaraya Jimat where you can get your groceries and necessities. Don't forget to visit Kafe Kenangan Lama but authentic Thai's cuisine at ultra affordable price, restoran Ee Lo for the famous curry fish head/body!
