A magnificent hotel in a stunning location”
The Metropol Hotel is a glorious experience. There are other quality hotels in a similar location but none with the history and real Russian feel as the Metropol. If you have read A Gentleman in Moscow, you will be delighted to visit the hotel from the book and find that so much is still there. The breakfast experience is a must, in the wonderful dining hall with a stunning glass ceiling and fountain in the centre with live Harp music to accompany a stunning breakfast selection. Red Square, the Kremlin and the GUM store are just a few minutes walk away and the Bolshoi Theatre is within a few metres. If I am lucky enough to visit Moscow again, I will not need to look for hotels since I know that I will stay at the Metropol!

I had stayed at Metropol two years ago and I received a very positive impression about this hotel. I returned back in Oct 2017 and my impression has not changed at all. It got bit more expensive but still an excellent hotel, i would say. Up standard service, expensive food, great interior, historic building, at very heart of Moscow and friendly service. I will definitely return again.

Booked it because I read a Gentleman in Moscow. The Metropol Gallery Hall is simply stunning - so don’t skip your breakfast! Minutes away from the red square, it’s centrally located. But if you are into modern hotels you would be disappointed - it’s truly a historical hotel!

History, Character, Location & Service. Fantastic”
I , my son, and My dad, all three of us stayed at Metropol during the victory parade ceremony. Fantastic location. few meters to Kremlin, Bolshoi Theater, Tsum, Gum and so on. Excellent and helpful service. The Staff were great. As any 5 star hotel should be. The interior was very " old school - soviet type of prestige". They managed to keep the interior as it was before - during- its long history. It is not the typical 5 star hotel. It is very different and historic. I will definitely will stay again at Metropol.

The location is amazing! Only a five minute walk from the Red Square. The outside of the hotel is beautiful, but the rooms can use a bit of refresh. I would stay in Metropol again.

A high quality hotel with efficient service ”
The hotel (and the room although it faced onto Mokhovaya - a busy main road) was quiet and the service efficient; it has a classic style and is very well located. At a discounted rate it is a good option in central Moscow but at the full rate one would be disappointed - the furnishings and room (size and fit out) do not compare with top end hotels in the Middle East, Asian and European cities.

I received free upgrade to suite room for my honeymoon, there were welcome cards and fruits in the room. Staff speak fluent English. They provide different services like helped to buy circus ticket (although that day was closed) and sent the postcards.There is ATM inside the hotel where you could exchange your money, the rate is similar comparing with exchange shops in the city. I'm so appreciated that the staff even guided us to the ATM location. The only bad point is there was no air-conditioing inside the room so we had to open the window.

The Metropol- the oldest iconic Art Nouveau Hotel ”
I stayed in a deluxe twin on the 6th floor but asked to be moved as there were huge windows that opened out to a glass roof overlooking the restaurant - a lovely junior suite with separate sitting area. Ended up on the 5th floor with two Queen sized beds in the room; well lit if old fashioned tiled bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries Bed comfortable. Kettle with complimentary teas coffees and long life milk was provided. I would stay here again as it is well located close to the Kremlin Red Square, GUM department store but also because it is a beautiful old fashioned hotel with Art Nouveau features; stunning stained glass windows; murals; old wooden lift

It was very nice and such a brilliant hotel with friendly staff and a very good breakfast buffet which qasnt to expensive The room we had was extremely spacious and very beautiful The best part about the hotel is the location in the city which was right near red square shops and many cafés. This is a great hotel and what a 5 star hotel should be.

Superb hotel at a surprisingly low cost”
A really superb hotel in the most excellent location and at a really reasonable price (maybe because it was a single fare). The only problem was that additional services (breakfast, laundry) were extremely expensive .. but that was my choice to use them.
