A cozy hotel ”
Amidst humongous hotel-casinos the Metropole Hotel stands out as a cozy hotel close to Senado Square, the old heritage district of Portuguese Macao. The hotel has very courteous staff, responsive to guests' needs (despite the lack of facility of the English language). My family appreciates all the assistance they provided. Hotel rates were high during our visit, but this was because of the New year festivities and end-of-year shopping. We occupied a standard room and a quad. The rooms were cleaned everyday and toiletries were replenished. Towels were fresh and so with the linens. The buffet breakfast was good for the price. The hotel has a Chinese restaurant, which, apparently is a favorite of the locals. Our standard room was Chinese in design. I think there are other rooms that are more contemporary. Though well-maintained, there is still room to improve the facilities. Overall Metropole Hotel is worth your money. I will choose this hotel again if I return to Macau.
Comfortable Hotel in Centre of Macau”
Metropole Hotel is located in Centre of Macau, very convenient - turn left to Ruins of St Paul and turn right can go to New & Old Lisbao Hotel, New Yaohan Shopping Mall and etc. Can enjoy in the morning and walk to Senado Square, can further and there have 2 hawker stall selling Macau style porridge and "chee cheong fun". Slightly expensive but great experience for breakfast at roadside. Less than 5 mins walk (cross opposite road) to take free shuttle to Galaxy Hotel in Taipa, also can take free shuttle from Galazy Hotel. Actually Sheraton Hotel, Venetion Hotel, Galaxy Hotel are near to each other. All the hotels in Macau is extremely big and will get lost inside for first time. Metropole Hotel is just nice and comfortable although it's normal standard hotel. Will consider it again for next visit if hotel rate is reasonable.
Great location, comfortable stay, clean hotel.”
This is a relatively cheap and very decent hotel to stay in the Macau Peninsular. Rooms are clean, showers are hot with good water pressure, and located very near to Senado Square - a popular tourist destination. How to get there: From the ferry terminal or airport, take a FREE shuttle busses provided by the casinos. You MUST board the bus that takes you to the GALAXY Macau casino/resort. From the GALAXY Macau casino/resort, change to another bus that brings you to "SAN MA LO" (Senado Sqaure). Once the bus stops at San Ma Lo (Google Maps location: "22.191451, 113.540737"), the Metropole Hotel is just 2-minutes walk away (check on Google Maps). Trip takes about 45minutes including waiting time for busses. Breakfast is not spectacular. You would have better luck researching popular dining spots around the hotel (there are MANY). There is a great food-court at the top of the NEW YAOHAN shopping center just across the street from the hotel. Hope this helps!
great choice for family group with grown children”
Check in was smooth, maybe we were lucky to always get the friendly and cheerful service team when we go to the front desk. On first day, the front desk agreed that we could leave our luggage while we travel to HK and return for another day stay in Metropole Hotel. However, the other staff on shift told us we cant leave luggage with them, until we told them the other staff agreed and allowed us to leave the extra luggage in the hotel. During our stay, we also witnessed some other customers quarrelling with the front desk staffs, but we were unsure what issues were that all about. The hotel is walking distance to many famous places in Macau. nothing to complain about.

A good place to stay in Macau.”
Our room was comfortable with free Wi-Fi & bottled water. Hotel should strictly impose the "No Smoking" rule to their hotel guests for non-smoking floors/areas as we could smell cigarette smoke on our last day. Hotel is very close to Senado Square & other tourist sites plus New Yaohan Shopping Centre. Free shuttle bus to Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal available in front of Hotel. Hotel is well located & we were able to enjoy all kinds of food plus shopping. A big "Thank you!" to the Manager for helping us with our travel documents. Happy with our experience & stay @ Metropole Hotel-Macau!
All we needed”
The Metropole was a pleasant surprise for a budget hotel. No trimmings, no luxuries but clean and all we needed for our two day one night stay. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful in answering questions and help with directions. They have a facility for keeping luggage if you come early or need to leave later in the day. There is a free shuttle bus service from the Macau ferry pier and back which helped a lot with transport. There are numerous busses in the big streets around the hotel and we could reach most areas from the hotel. The shuttle busses to the hotels on Taipa island stop one block from the hotel.
Good location! Room looks good!”
Within walking distance to Ruins of St. Paul's, Largo do Senado. You may take the free shuttle bus from airport to Wynn hotel (around 10mins walk to Metropole) or Grand Lisbon hotel (around 5 mins walk to Metropole). There is also a free shuttle bus service from Sintra hotel to Studio City hotel or City of Dreams. Sintra hotel just within the walking distance from Metropole hotel.
Great location! Close to everything to see in town”
We spend 3 nights there and had peaceful nights compaire with the other place I have been in China before. This was first time for us in Macau and the hotel nicer than we expected. Convenient for travel and visit places in town. Hotel have no airport transfer, taxi only 80MOP or can take free casino shuttle with little walk by a few block away. 24hrs supermarket, restaurants are just next door. We arrived late at night, hot water machine not work well and staff were prompted to help out and change right away^^. Our room as per booking under conditions and was ready when check in. Hotel have 2 restaurants..we don't try but price are reasonable. We enjoy to stay here and definitely return for next visit.
CITY CENTRE ECONOMICALLY”
I had a very good stay at the Metropole. It is right near everything in Macau and one can simply walk to all the places. And once can safely walk out of the hotel very late in the night and visit the happening spots like Lisboa area or the historical spots, without any fear. Lots of food centers around.
Nice hotel and very good location.”
Hotel is located in the heart of Macau City. Free shuttle transportation to Macau ferry terminal where you can also hop on a free bus and take you to casino hotel of your choice. Room is clean and has free wifi and a mobile you can use and take with you free when making local calls. Room service is very good and fast. Definitely will rebook again on my next visit here and will recommend to my friends and relatives.
comfortable”
The location of this hotel is perfect since the first item in our itinerary was a visit to Senado Square which is just 5 minutes away by walking. It's also close to Sintra Hotel which is a pick-up/drop-off point by shuttle buses to/from City of Dreams. It's a newly refurbished hotel so it's quite clean and the linens are still very white (thankfully) and the beds are firm and comfortable (no sagging mattress). The room was beautiful although small (so there is not a lot of space for big luggage, which thankfully we did not have as we were in Macau only for the weekend so we only had small carry-on bags). While the room was small, one good thing is that the bathroom was not. It was of average size therefore it was quite spacious for you to move around, plus it's stocked with complimentary toiletries in beautiful containers and a hairdryer. One downside about the bathroom though is that there are no hooks or rods where you could hang your wet towels and the shower area has no place for you to put your toiletries. Honestly, I could not understand why this is the case. Check in and check out was fast but the receptionists are not too good in English so you have to make extra effort to use the simplest English words. And one important thing for future hotel guests to know is that even if you have fully paid for your hotel through a travel website (Agoda in our case), the front desk will require you to deposit HK $500 upon check-in, refundable upon check out. The amount is intended to cover the cost of items from the ref that you consume or any of the items in the room that gets damaged or missing while you were there. That's very important to remember so that you will bring extra cash with you. I am not sure if this is also practiced by the other hotels. Overall, we had a pleasant stay in the hotel.
Near to attraction and casino”
Near to senado square and st paul ruins. Outside of hotel is the main road, which mean easy of hailing taxi. Short walking distance to lisboa. Near to New yaohan and macau square. Opp of hotel, theres a shuttle bus stop that provide free bus to City of dream.
Near to Ruin of St. Paul and staff is nice”
By walking distance to Ruin of St. Paul (大三巴), Grand Lisboa Casino and also to the famous Margaret's Portuguese tarts. For those who like Jollibee, there is a Jollibee branch located nearby, we went supper for two nights stay in Metropole hotel. The staff on duty is very friendly and did provided us some locations info to visit nearby. Although the hotel no longer provide handy phone inside the room, the hotel do provide free shuttle bus to the nearer ferry terminal, Harbour Outer Terminal. Will recommend to others to stay in Metropole Hotel.
Great location, only worth discount price ”
This Metropole was not as I thought it would be from other Metropole hotels, had I not gotten a huge discount through agoda and the hotel was in a great location for access to old town and transportation, I can't imagine paying full price for such an old out dated hotel. The staff is kind, helpful to foreigners, the room smelled of smoke from the hall even, I'd asked for smoke free, the amenities are average
Perfect Perfect and Perfect ”
We had a delay on our flight and check in late, stress and tired. But when we were checking in our room was upgraded to a suite then everything turn out positive and all are stress when out the window. The room was unbelievable big, nice, clean, comfort bed and soft pillows. They clean the room and changed our linens, towels and refilled our coffee, tea and bottle water everyday. It really made our special day (honeymooners) perfect. And if we come back in Macau we will definitely stay in this hotel again even if we don't get an upgrade. The location, cleanliness, comfort room, good service and free wifi makes it worth coming back here. Thanks!
Great Hotel, Great Location and Great Hospitalilty”
It's so convenient since it's right in the middle of town, close to New Yohan (Department Store), San Ma Lo and others. Travelling around Macau from the hotel is so easy to manage. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers.
Great stay”
I love this hotel... definitely will be back again here... the location is so great that.. its like you're in 0 kilometer while in Macau (at the Center of them all), with its adjacent location to the famous Ruin of St. Paul, and the Senate Square, and its accessibility to both free shuttle and public vehicles, all these add up to my so love stay in this vibrant country.
Near to Senando Square and Macau town”
The exterior and lobby looks simple but the room is comfy with huge bed, spacious room and with a bathtub. The hotel also provide free shuttle to Sands Macau and from there we could take free shuttle to Venetian. The are plenty of shuttle buses to move around from one place to another. The breakfast provided is simple and each person can only choose 1 main course. But they do have free flow of coffee, salad and fruits. It's within 5-10mins walking distance to Senando Square and about 15mins to Ruin of St Paul.
