Most definitely not 4*”
We travelled to Israel for our sons wedding, firstly we upgraded our room in the UK to the next up from standard, the difference was a bigger window. We had about 3" of hanging space in the watdrobe for anything longer than a man's shirt ridiculous! We then paid again to be upgraded to a suite purely so our clothes were not ruined for our 4 day wedding event. Onto the staff! Unfortunately I slipped in the restaurant 3 days before leaving, falling downstairs, the restaurant staff walked over me even though I couldnt move finally my husband & another guest helped me up & other members of our family asked for first aid. They told us if I needed the hospital I should sort it myself they just didnt care. I sliipped. On sometjing left on the floor in their restaurant! Health & safety does not exist, they just didnt care, i spent 3 days in a wheelchair. I'm now home & unable to walk so have to use the NHS here to help me. The hotel is full of kids/tours etc. Its really not a hotel I would recommend if you want any kind of luxury. The pool is dreadful no access if you are less than able bodied. The position is good as its 5 mins from the beach but i would say thats its only saving grace. Would I return or recommend? NEVER in a million years

Great hotel at great price”
Small room but otherwise great hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and included toiletries. They also had a breakfast and other facilities. I would stay here again.

Good Location. ”
Staff Helpful. Desserts over Passover left a lot to be desired but food generally not bad. Pool area currently being refurbished so limited area for sunbathing. Cracked wash basin in bathroom. Hotel could do with a little refurbishment generally.

Excellent location”
Stayed here for 5 nights. Room was on top floor and had a small window but with nice sea view. Whole hotel spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable and shower very powerful. The 3 best things were location, being a 1 minute walk down to the beach and an equal distance to the bustling Allenby St with the Carmel Market and shops, and literally round the corner from HaYarkim and it's restaurants. Second is the staff, all very courteous and helpful, with an excellent grasp of English. Third was fact they gave me a late check out for free until 2pm. Breakfast was tasty, but limited. There is no meat so as long as you like fish and cheese and eggs it's ok. Lots of fresh salad and breads and cakes as well as cereals available. It could do with more fresh fruit though. Pool doesn't open until April, but didn't look that nice an area, but no hardship with the beach on the doorstep. Well equipped gym but very hot, but unattractive sauna. I'm already planning to return to Tel Aviv and will definitely consider the Metropolitan again. Perfect for my needs
