Great Experience”
I had done this booking for my parents and two other couples travelling together with them. They were all praises for this hotel and the hospitality of the Management and the staff. Very comfortable stay and the rooms were very spacious and clean. Special thanks to the Manager Mr. Ravi who ensured the process of booking was smooth and also made all the efforts to make this trip memorable for them. I am planning to visit this resort soon with my family :)

Great location nad great staff”
Location, staff, views
5* for the friendly helpful staff and the prime location. Perched above the Ooty line tracks with a view over the valley and 1km above Coonoor on the panoramic twisty road to Ooty. Coonor train station and then the bustling town is a 10-15 min downhill walk, along the tracks and past the rail sheds if you wish, or a 60-100 Rp auto ride. On arrival at the station call the hotel and they may will collect you. Perfect location if you wish to ride the train to Ooty and return by taxi (600Rp).........or the bus. Pleasant lawned garden and separate enclosed kids play area. Good of street parking. My deluxe bedroom was a good size with a table and 2 relaxing chairs to enjoy the fine view through the big window. Tasteful wooden floor. Bed and linen ok. Bathroom very tired but functional with own hot water tank. It looked like all/most bedrooms faced the front. Restaurant enjoys the same views. The hotel is a bit tired and needs updating but this I felt was reflected in the room rate so expect to pay more if/when this happens. Coonoor, or to be precise, anywhere above this busy market town is great place to stay for a day or 3. The hotel manager organised everything for me from a visit to the train station and meeting the Station Master, visits to view points upper Coonoor and the tea plantations. My Volvo ac coach journey from Mysore to Ooty via Bandipur national park before climbing up through the Nilgiris was superb. Booked online direct with Govn't owned KSRTC including seat can guess which seat I chose. If riding the Ooty line the best scenes, bridge and tunnel views along the entire line are best enjoyed from the left side going up remembering the engine is at the rear both up and down. The loco changes from diesel to steam at Coonoor so you get an extra side show.

Best Hotel View in Coonoor”
Attentive Staff, Quiet Location, Comfortable Rooms
I spent ten days at MGM in Coonoor as part of a longer trip. I arrived after a month in Delhi, so the contrast was quite stark - the cool hills made a welcome change from the monsoonal humidity of the capital. The hotel itself is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Coonoor, away from the majority of the traffic. It commands really quite spectacular views over the valley; if you can, make sure you wake up in time to watch the sunrise. Being slightly out of the town, the environment is quiet, and there are gardens and a play area for children. The best feature of our room was undoubtedly the view. The room was large and comfortable, and the shower/toilet rooms were kept very clean. Minor issues were the lack of an English-language news channel, and the fact that there was no discernible heating; this was not a problem for the length of our stay, but Coonoor does get very cold in the winter months from December onwards. Breakfast was provided as part of our room fee, and the restaurant manager was extremely attentive, ensuring that everything was as we had requested it. He was very accommodating when we required an earlier start to catch a train. The menu itself was quite broad, offering Southern Indian dishes as well as a range of more Western options; the prices were slightly higher than in town, though you would expect to pay a little more for the convenience of eating in your hotel. All of the members of staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant, providing us with tips about where to eat, what to see, and how best to get around. Their input really was invaluable. Coonoor is an unusual place. Tourists tend to pass through on the mountain railway, but few venture into the town. If you do visit this region, take the time to have a look around - it has such charm, a really interesting history, and excellent restaurants. Ooty itself is quite urban and more obviously set up for tourists, but Coonoor has a very different, relaxed feel.

A comfortable and pleasant stay. ”
Quiet; food; room
The stay was generally good for us. However we noticed that the water from the tap in the bathroom was dark brown when we first turned it on. On continuous use over the next 5 days there was a very light brown hue to the water. We suspect the pipes may be corroded. Other than this it was enjoyable. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Inside a nice hotel with interesting style”
very friendly staff
On arrival the hotel facade does not give a good impression. Once inside the hotel is good: nice rooms and very friendly service.
