Impressive service that made our vacation work”

The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable

I have a 5 yr. old son and a 3 yr. old daughter. They are both heavily into animals and nature stuff. In fact the sole purpose of going to Palawan was to see the crocs! Everything else was secondary. We booked our stay from the 16th (a Sunday) to the 18th (a Tuesday). I had planned the itinerary this way, 16th arrive PPS at 9:10AM, catch a privately chartered boat good for 7 people(which would cost PHP 9300) to do the Honda Bay tour. I planned it this way because my research brought me to the conclusion that if we arrived in PPS later than 8AM, there wouldn't be any groups left to join in on the Honda Bay tour. Monday the 17th, we would wait til 1PM for the croc farm to open. Then leave Tuesday the 18th. To my surprise, when we got to Microtel, the front desk person "Pops" told me that he can arrange our itinerary in a way that won't be taxing to the wallet and our bodies. He said he will arrange the itinerary this way...today(16th) Sunday, you go do the City Tour at 11AM, this will include the croc farm. Tomorrow(17th) you can do the Honda Bay tour the whole day and not pay the PHP9300(fee if we were to hire the boat all to ourselves). Then check-out on Tuesday(18th). I countered Pops by saying "the croc farm doesn't til tomorrow(Monday) at 1PM". He said, "we can make this itinerary happen Sir, if you want it". I thought to myself "WOW" so I said "OK". All told, I saved a bunch of money by taking Pops' offer. Kudos to the staff of Microtel Puerto Princesa!!!

Great hotel with beach, pool, and peace & quiet”

Hotel closest to city center and airport that has a view of the ocean (beach), is well appointed and peaceful

I had a marvelous time at Microtel in Puerto Princesa. I liked the property because while it is the only hotel relatively close to the city that has access to the beach & the ocean. True that because of the low tide, the beach (with mangroves on the side) becomes a long stretch to walk before you get to the sea. But it was nonetheless a great view! The water usually reaches the edge (closest to the hotel) at nighttime. Water retreats again at daytime. The property is also close enough to the city center (with free shuttle services for the guests - the drivers are very efficient. Guests are also given their contact numbers just in case you need to give them any additional information. Guests may also request a particular pick up or drop off point in the city). I liked the room with 2 queen beds! The beds were very, very comfortable. The AC was working perfectly well! And the bathroom was not bad. The staff are generally friendly and nice. The pool was a good place to get a tan & there are a good number of lounge chairs. The restaurant is open until 9pm & they have grills for dinner. Free coffee, tea, water and wifi at the lobby. And there are enough couches, chairs & tables for everybody. The hotel was full when we went there but it didn't feel like it because perhaps the guests had different itineraries, and only a controlled number of guests are left using the facilities at any given time. The other guests are also generally friendly. The hotel sells postcards (P5 more expensive than in the city), but the hotel can also mail the postcards for you for a fee of P25 per postcard (on top of the postcard's cost). I found the housekeeping staff nicest, followed by restaurant & front desk on the second spot. The front desk clerks are very pretty and they seem to know each guest's room & requests. Security guards are very visible as well. Best of all, I loved the fact that the hotel is very, very peaceful, both daytime & nighttime, away from the busy city center.

Cozy hotel at a beautiful beach”

Friendsly staff, quiet, close to beach

We had a very pleasant stay at Microtel Wyndham in Puerto Princesa. Although the hotel is a bit far from city proper, this was an advantage as we were looking for a quiet place for our relaxing vacation. Staff was very kind and helpful, the room and the property is clean and beautiful. The hotel provides free shuttle to the Airport and to Robinson Mall. If needed a tricycle or van ride can be easily arranged for trips within the city. The hotel staff is very helpful with getting arranged group tours as well.

Microtel by Wyndham Puerto Princesa is a family-friendly hotel. Our family spent 4 days and 3 nights in a beach-front room and had a really good time 😊 The staff helped us book tour packages and we never encountered any problems while on tour.

        Nice Place with Unbeatable Service”

        Excellent Pesonal

I really enjoyed my stay at Palawan Microtel. The pool is nice. The room is nice. The staff is exceptional. When we walked in the door they gave us a cool towel to help us cool off. That was really a nice touch and set the stage. The restaurant is nice too. Good food and again I've never seen service better than this in the Philippines. if you look like you might be hot, they bring a fan over. If you look up, someone will be there to see if you need something. They ran out of Coke light while I was there but hey, its Palawan. Many places where out of it. I've seen some reviews around trashing the beach. There is nothing wrong with the beach. There is low tide but that's a function of the earth. :) It clean, few rocks, didn't see a single sea urchin (though that's always possible in the sea). The in room Internet service is expensive and never worked while I was there. They refunded my P500 for the five hours of credit I had to pay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Mid range pricing with first class treatment. Not Filipino style beds that I'm use to in pension houses. Air con worked great and sometimes that can be iffy in the Philippines. The air con and restaurant are without air con but that is common in the Philippines. You should keep in mind that Palawan is still fairly remote, there could be outages. It is just part of living in the Philippines. Nice place.

beachfront rooms assigned, very accommodating staff

We love our stay at Micro Hotel Puerto Princesa. Almost all the staff are courteous. The rooms are well maintained and food prices are very reasonable. Pool amenities were great also. We were even given towels, soap and shampoos coming from an island hopping to take showers even after the cutoff check out time. If we may suggest a common bathroom for all guest with similar cases catching the mid afternoon flight particularly for ladies. Just the same my family and I loved and enjoyed our stay at Microtel Puerto Princesa. Keep it up!! All the best

        Awesome”

        Staff and food

Part 1-I'm a fil, grew up in Mindanao but migrated in phil. I brought my girls there for a vaca and I'm a paranoid guy. I never been in palawan even though I grew in a neighboring island. I research the place alot and decided to go for it. Microtel was well know in here in LA specially in vegas, when I got there, view was amazing, food was amazing, and staff was really great. We got pick up in the airport by hotel shuttle(Juancho is awesome) for free and drop off as well for $50/night you can never get it here in LA, and 24hr free coffee, internet is ok in lobby.Massage in the room, and swimming pool is great for kids. The room is great just for resting, don't be bothered and picky coz you didn't travel all those miles just to sleep.Focus more on the Tours, I asked around for a driver that rents van theres alot of those in puerto, so he can drive you and guide you as well.

Secluded yet accessible to the city's hustle and bustle. A very beautiful hotel in Palawan with amazing views of mangroves amidst the sea. Had a peaceful stay and loved the dramatic sunsets and sunrises right there from our hotel's window. Staffs are very friendly and working hard. Recommended by my brother who lives in Puerto Princesa. An excellent choice, food is great, they were able to cook for us by request and set a table by the pool. Little things that makes our stay wonderful!!

5 star hotel for 3 star price!”

great free services like breakfast breverage and shuttle

The pictures advertised on the website is exactly what you're going to see when you get here. I'm always skeptical about pictures since they usually post them when they are brand new and get photo shopped but the view looking out into the ocean seems photo shopped in real life. The hotel itself was designed with modern and traditional decor with open spaces and walls so once you walk in, you can feel the ocean inviting you to walk to the back and see the great view. We had an early flight in and with prior arrangements through email, the Microtel driver was waiting for us at the airport terminal. The drive to the hotel took about 30 minutes although it was not far at all. The traffic flow in Palawan is much like rural island pace.. nice and slow. Towards the arrival of the hotel, the road becomes a little bumpy but lasts maybe 5 minutes. The appearance of the hotel is very modern and new. The porters then collected all our baggages and greeted us with welcomes and water bottles. Check in was easy but since we were still early our rooms were not ready yet. We just helped ourselves to coffee and enjoyed our view and hammocks outside on thier beachfront backyard.. hope that makes sense. Once the rooms were ready, the porters met us there with our belongings. We were told we could watch the pacquiao fight on our inroom tvs so thats what we did. The room was nice and roomy since there was 5 of us.. we had 2 rooms. The bathroom was clean and modern and the beds were pretty comfortable. Unfortunetly we didn't get an ocean view room but the other side is facing the front of the hotel which had a lagoon and lush green view. The free shuttle service was a real money saver during our trip. We just had to rsvp the time we wanted to use it and it took us to the major shopping or restaurants that we wanted to go to and for pick up, we just had to call the driver to tell them when and where we wanted to get picked up from. Will help with tour arrangements also.

You can enjoy the serene forest/mangroves that surrounded the resort or just lounge in the beach and bask under the sun, have fun kayaking and explore the nearby mangroves and dip in the refreshing water of their pool after the day's activities. Though a bit far from the city proper, they offer free shuttle service for drop off/pick up during lunch time and dinner for your convenience so you can still enjoy what Puerto Princesa has to offer. Tip: Rent a motorbike for a day or two so you can enjoy exploring the city. Rooms are spacious, complete with extra stuff and are always clean. Staff are super friendly and are always ready to assist you. Your stay here is all worth it.

Great place for couples in palawan”

Likeable staff. Comfortable and nice room. Peaceful and serene spot in palawan.

We stayed in Microtel Palawan for two nights after we toured the major spots in Palawan. So basically we had a good place for just idling around the entire day until night. Although the place is just 15-20 mins from the city, its a serene place for those couples who just want to spend time together and i noticed also a family-friendly place. Its good that they offer free ride for those who wanted to get to the city. There were two minimal problem (1) approx 200meter of rough road before te hotel (2) more improvement on the choices and taste of food. But still, we would like to comeback in Microtel Palawan, coz its the memorable place that my girlfriend answered a Big Yes when i proposed to her under a starry night, sipping white wine looking at the beautiful beach. Honeymoon will be underway once we get married.

Where do I even start? This trip was so great because of our stay in Microtel Puerto Princesa. The rooms were well maintained, the staff were super accommodating and went the extra mile to assist us, the food was awesome and the restaurant staff were kind enough to serve members of my family who were vegetarians. Thank you to the staff. From check-in to out, the service was consistently great. I look forward to coming back and recommend to all my friends!

        Excellent location, wonderful service”

excellent location, right on the beach, could fully enjoy the low/high tide, excellent service, I fully recommend the hotel to whoever is looking for a beach hotel

the staff has been very helpful and accomodating, real attention to details and proactive thinking both on big items as well as small details which really made the difference. Felt like we could fully relax and enjoy as they were keeping a close eye on things and doing any "worrying" for us. I strongly recommend the ocean view rooms, the view from the small balcony is really worth the extra cost. If I go back to Palawan/Puerto Princessa, I intend to stay at the Microtel again.

        Great place in Palawan !”

We enjoyed our stay in Microtel a lot . We stayed there 1 night only , however we wish we could stay longer ! The service was perfect : the transfer was well arranged , our room was ready early in the morning , everyhing clean and beds super comphy . Staff is friendly and helpful ! very nice people ! We were treated as special guests and really appreciated this . the atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing : beach is right there when you come out from the room door , hummocks to relax everywhere , water is clean and you can do cayaking and snorkeling . This place is perfect for people who want to avoid crowds and to relax quietly at the beach . I think the location is one the best in Palawan : right on the beach and about 10 minutes ride to the shops area , to which have free transfer . The breakfast is good and restaurant also provides nice food with reasonable price , free tea and coffee in the hall . Minus : Wifi works well only in the hall , doors to the beach hard to open .

        One of the nicest Microtel”

        Pool, Staff, Room in general!
Little far from downtown, but free shuttles with helpful and friendly drivers make up for it! Somewhat noisy room, due to the fact that there is no insulation between rooms... or even from the lobby to your room...i heard kids at midnite having a party at the lobby, and i was in a corner room on the second floor trying to sleep... had to call front desk to get some peace and quiet!

I've stayed at Davao, Cebu and now Palawan Microtel. I have to say that across the board they are the same. You'll love the decor, friendly staff and the fine room they will give you. Just deal with sometimes noisy neighbors... luck of the draw... besides a somewhat mediocre breakfast everything else is really good! Free internet service if you ask at front desk to use their offices! Very friendly! Oh!! best wired music thru out hotel... amazing serious jazz and latino music selection of songs... the real deal! Congratulations to the manager!!!!! he picked out the music, serious buff!!!

        Best Beachfront Hotel

This is my first time to have my stay in Palawan and in any Microtel hotels , and I can say that, I've tasted what best of Palawan and Microtel has to offer..The nature and the modern structure of the hotel combined gave a special ambiance to the place..Service is great though, I can say that the food is average. The rooms which we've got facing the lagoon makes it perfect for me, it is also a bit spacious..Overall, I can say I had an excellent stay with this hotel..

        Excellent”

This is the second Microtel we stayed in, and their location in Puerto Princesa is as good as the others. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Room is spacious and comfy. The only disappointment would be the variety of facilities. We went to Puerto Princesa during the rainy season, and we didn't get to enjoy the beautiful view or chill-out at the pool with it rained. It would have been great if they had a pool table or other kinds of indoor entertainment for rainy days.

Surpirisingly a Getway that was worth it!”

The ambience and setting was great and romantic. The Staff was friendly and accomodating. Great shuttle service.
A bit far from civilization Nothing Much to do in Puerto Princesa everythign is about tours outside the city.

Microtel was very surprising, I saw this in the US and it looked like a Motel, here,it definitely changed my views, it was an actual resort. It was affordable and it was great compared to the rest of the hotels in the city in terms of location, price, ambience, Beach Accesibility, Comfort and Serenity. (Fleuris & Legend). Microtel was very accomodating to our needs, reservations and wants. She definitely customized this to provide the best customer service possible. With people really checking in we could not extend to a late check out but it was definitely worth the stay. When I would go to Puerto Princessa I would definitely stay here again. This also opened new horizons in me trying to check otehr microtel ventures in diferent areas in the Philippines. - Baguio is next! Me and my parner had a great time, it was somethign we both needed after a hard months work!

Nice hotel at the ocean outside Puerto Princesa”

Nice and clean rooms, good restaurant, great view

the hotel is located approximately 20 min from the airport at the outskirts of the city of puerto princesa, palawan. from the rooms a nice view over the beach is available. the beach located in a mangrove area has limited possibility for swimming. the hotel pool is an option. the restaurant of the hotel offers a nice variety of food for lunch and dinner, selections for breakfast are limited. be surprised by the friendly staff,
