Mimpi Resort Menjangan
"Room was fine, breakfast was ample food."
December 15, 2018
Mimpi Resort Menjangan is comprised of 30 terraced patio rooms and 24 walled court villas and is located on the northwest corner of Bali. Wildlife surrounds the resort, and each villa features a hot spring tub. A wealth of natural beauty surrounds the resort, and the architects have designed the resort as if to include nature. The bathrooms open to a small garden, allowing more contact with nature. After a hard day of activity, guests can relax and refuel their senses using the resort's spa, and later on they can refuel in the resort's restaurant and bar.

Amazing scenery choice of pools and natural hot springs ( to hot for me) lovely food and amazingly friendly staff. I went especially for scuba diving and the team are brilliant they look after you so well and take you to some amazing sites off Menjangan island. Lovely and peaceful if you want to avoid clubs etc I will be going back again ***** 5 Stars.
beautiful romanic resort with lots of nice pools and hot springs”
PROS- we were upgraded to have our own outdoor hot spring! we totally loved this place. such a beautiful and romantic room. you get your money's worth here. feels very exclusive and high end. the rooms were even better than in the photos. so peaceful and relaxing. you also have a number of pools and hot springs to choose from if your room doesn't have it's own private hot spring. CONS- the resort is quite huge, it takes a while to get to the restaurant by the ocean. but a good exercise because the pathway is very nice.
Best hot spring in Bali”
The dishes at restaurant are edible, but they aren’t good and too expensive. Drink and minibar are also overpriced. So it's better to dine out lunch/dinner and BYO your drink. You can fined another good hotel's dinning or good and cheap warung at Banyuwedang and Pemuteran Beach. Overall this hotel is three-star class, but only hot spring is five-star quality. I definitely wanna stay again and dine out!
Nothing to do ”
I was bored ,that I left a day earlier of my 4 day stay. Room was fine, breakfast was ample food. Pool was a bit dirty with moss growing in the middle of pool water.massage was 450,000 rp ++, bit too expensive.no one around ,very quiet.no shops nearby either..
late booking for Menjangan Island visit”
We were adjusting our travel plans due to Gili visit being cancelled so our choices were limited so close to our visit, but this was a nice little surprise. Lovely grounds, great massages, fun snorkel trip around Menjangan Island. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful. A little quiet space in the middle of our trip. I wish I had read the reviews before going.. our snorkeling trip really was great and our guide outstanding, but I have since learned we could have gone to local dive center right outside the gates to the resort for a similarly good experiences and paid a LOT less (live and learn). Dining costs are on the high side and there are limited other options. The view of the sea from the resort is beautiful but I had not realized that there is not actually a beach area.. so we took went to Pemuteran for a day. Beautiful resort and great staff. Just know what to expect (and how long the journey will take).
The hot spring pools and cold pool was great. ”
Mimpi is a quite and very nice place, we liked the hot spring pools in our villa as well outside. Monkeys which come from time to time to the garden are fantastic to watch. Bikes to cruise around are great (without children) possibility to eat in the hotel or opposite or in the small Wärung up the street 150 m, was nice too.
Hidden Gem ”
This is a really special resort with a fantastic staff. They even found me an iPhone charger. The best value for the money of my trip even though I paid more elsewhere. It’s a drive so plan to spend a few days. Can’t wait to return.
Nice and comfortable room to relax
There are many ants”
Please make sure no ants in the room, ty
Large, peaceful resort”
Had a bungalow with private pool and hot spring. Very nice and spacious place to stay. We stayed in Nov so the place was very quiet and peaceful. Nice grounds to walk around with great views over the inlet and a good restaurant. The only downside would be the road into the resort which is basically a mud trail for about 50 meters and no obvious sign posted entrance - first impression entering the car park wasn’t good but actually a nice resort is waiting.
Great diving resort in a very remote location on Bali”
Relaxed resort in a very remote location on Bali. Great base for diving on Menjangan Island. Staff is super friendly. Professional diving center. Great food with a view to the volcanos on Java. Book a villa with private hot spring. Plan 4 hours for the drive from the airport.
The location is amazing and great for snorkel/ diving. The staff are warm and welcoming. The food is varied and didn't disappoint. The grounds, pools and hot spas are so relaxing. It's a must stay destination.
We had a womderful time at Mimpi. I chose the resort as it is close to menjangan and the ferry boata to go there. The staff were always helpful and smiling, food a little expensive but their facilities including the hot spring pools more then made up for it. The resort does not have a beach but a short drive to pemuteran will get u to the lovely bay there. I chose to dive with an outside operator which was cheaper and had an excellent time. Menjangan is a must go to when there...i will be back to mimpi the next chance i get.
Dreams are sweet at Mimpi....”
I loved my stay at Mimpi and would recommend it highly. Guests should know there is no beach, but the pool is nice and the view of the mangrove-surrounded inlet is lovely. I would recommend to Mimpi management that they notify guests when they intend to fog for Mosquitos; I understand the necessity but think a forwarning would be appreciated by most guests. perhaps there could be a specific time/day when this is accomplished? A note to guests might say, "To protect you, our giests, from Mosquitos, we will fog the grounds at x time on x day."
Beautiful and Huge Hotel propaty”
We spend quite while to get there from Ubud (3.5 hours)by taking a Taxi, but it was worth for it. The property size of this hotel is huge and directly connected to beach, so the boats for diving and snorkeling are departing from the same premise. Have 2 pools one facing beach and another is facing garden. 3 Hot springs, 2 are beach front and another is within villa area. they also provides all amenities and pool towels. Nice and comfortable stay. We got this hotel as a result of a secret deal with paying lower price than normal rate, so we were very lucky:-)
Awesome place to relax, dive or sit in a hottub”
From the quick check-in to the fast check-out, this was one of my favorite places to stay in Bali. Went there for the diving, stayed in a villa with a hot tub. Food was good (Indonesian and European dishes). Diving was great. Dive guides knew where to find the critters, including mandarin fishes, leaf scorpion fishes, pygmy seahorses and were friendly and helpful. Normally you do a 2 tank dive trip to the island in a local ex-fishing boat, and you can do a local night dive too. Resort grounds are beautiful, spa is excellent (nothing beats a massage after a few days of diving) and the resort staff is friendly and attentive. One caveat: You are far away from everything. So unless you have a rental car or arrange transportation, you will just hang out at the resort (not that this is a bad thing).
A dream stay!”
We felt like we were living a dream for the to nights. we booked the standard but git bumped to a villa..recommended to book as the standard rooms were in back and looked small. we had our own natural spring bath in a lovely romantic garden setting. Pools and hot strings fabulous and the staff were the best in Bali!! I will be back one day to enjoy more dreams!!
Great snorkeling, loved the hot spring pools.”
We had a very nice two days at Mimpi and then booked another day because we enjoyed the snorkeling off Menjangan Island (very good and varied - get a private boat and guide), the very nice mineral water in a variety of pools and temperatures, and the views of the inlet in front and the Javanese volcanoes. The nearby area has little to do (we didn't try trekking or birdwatching in the West Bali Park) but it was very nice at the Mimpi Resort. The spa seemed quite nice but was expensive by Bali standards.
Beautiful Resort, lovely grounds”
Love this hotel, the grounds are huge and gorgeous, the pools are beautiful, and there are nice hot spring pools as well. Good breakfast, their other food is hit or miss, but the restaurant setting is beautiful
Lots of Potential ”
The location is not good. If you want to eat anywhere other than the hotel, plan on getting a car to take you 15 minutes into town. Same for the beach. There is no beach really, so plan on another car ride to the beach for snorkeling or beach activities. Diving, snorkeling, and tours are all available through the hotel, but they are either twice or three times the going rate outside of the hotel. The hotel grounds are quite nice though, the swimming pools are beautiful (although not particularly clean), and the natural surroundings are lovely. The hot springs are also very nice. The food is just okay (and also at least double the cost of comparable food outside of the hotel). We had a large room with a second bed in a loft. There were lots of mosquitoes in the loft every night and the hotel refused to do anything about them other than to give us some bug spray. A mosquito net, at a minimum, would have made us happy.
