Fantastic room, breakfast and service”
Everything was better than I expected. It was easy to roam in the city and jfrom the guest house although it wasn't in the city center.it only took ~10 minut to get to Calton hill. The hosts were soooo nice that I gonna miss them!

Double Room
Stayed 1 night in September 2016
location is good but no parking spaces available near the guest house. Located on a busy boulevard so the building was skaking and the noise was so loud, even with the shutters closed, we hardly got some sleep that night.Bed was not comfortable and the room didn't smell that good.First the host showed us a nice room then after five minutes, makes us change room because he made a booking mistake, puts us in a tiny room...I paid for a larger room...I had to argue with the guy and finally he gave us a bigger room...on the first floor...next to the front door...so door banging, long explanations all night(that guy can talk ,it took 30 minutes to actually be able to rest in our room) and road noise all night, we didn't even stay for breakfast, we could't take it anymore, we went to mcdonalds...never again

Nice place to stay, good value for sure”
The location was convenient to restaurants, easy walk to town, staff were super friendly and helpful.
Working with the owners/staff was unbeatable. They were fabulous. Our welcome to the hotel was super as well. A great explanation of the services and a great way to start our stay. Breakfast was perfect...local style, tasty and homemade.

Mingalar is homely”
1)Good breakfast with warm service 2)Confortable and clean room 3) Suitably located -15 mins walk to Princess Street
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Mingalar. It took us about 15 mins to walk to Princess Street. All the major tourist sites are within walking distance . As it is just outside the busy tourist area, you can find many good and reasonably priced outlets nearby. From Waverley Station, just walk past St. James Shopping and down Broughton Street and you will see Mingalar on the right. Dr. Clive and wife are excellent hosts . They are very jovial and helpful. Also , don't forget to visit the Tourist Information Centre nest to Waverley Station. You can book a day trip to St. Andrews or Loch Lomond .
