Cheap but worthy”
It's a hard location to be found exactly. Even the driver a little bit confusing with the hotel name. But when I gave the exact hotel number, we manage to find it. It's an old hotel. But simple. I booked the standard room with no window but they upgrade me to the superior. But something happen and they upgrade us to studio one bedroom. It has bath tub, Kitchen sink and kitchen. The staff were helpful too. Best place to stay in Ho Chi Minh.

Old and dirty”
There were lots of aunts in my bathroom. Most of the rooms there have color lights only (I couldn’t read and then I had to upgrade to another room). The towels n bedsheets look old n dirty.

Acceptable”
The first room i had smelled like pee. The 2nd room was decent. No hair dryer, if u want it you gotta go ask for one, then return it to the front desk lady immediately after. If you pay less than $20 a night, then it's ok. More than that, then invest a little more and get a better stay.

Well kept secret off the main streets”
Minh Chau Hotel is located in an ideal part of Ho Chi Minh City. Far from the noise of the main streets, it is still relatively cheap to take a taxi down to the city's central at approximately USD$3. Looking from the outside, it has an unassuming facade which contributes to the homely feeling it gives when you walk in. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and although they may not be able to converse fluently in English, the hotel Manager, Manager, is always available to help when needed. When we arrived at Minh Chau Hotel, she was able to give us a list of things to do within Ho Chi Minh City and even a host of places to visit in our remaining days there. On one of the nights when we had returned, my partner felt nauseous and had a really troubling stomach ache. Manager offered to take us to the hospital, even giving us a choice between a local's hospital and a foreigner's hospital. The most telling sign of her willingness to help was when we decided at 11pm to take a bus to another city at 7am the next morning.Manager went out of her way by contacting her friend and in that way, secured a seat for us. Despite the language gap, the staff never seem to get frustrated or lose patience when we ask them for something. Having woken one of them up in the middle of the night, that staff member seemed more than happy to help us. For a cheap and nice hotel far from the noise of the main roads, Minh Chau Hotel is definitely a wonderful place to stay in. We left Ho Chi Mionh City thinking that if we ever wanted to return, we would definitely go back to Minh Chau Hotel.

Nice hotel in bustling city”
We have stayed in Minh Chau Hotel for 3 nights, and I can certainly recommend it for any backpacker or group of young people visiting Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel is located not very close to city center, but all attractions and sightseeing places can be reached by cheap car or motobike taxi. I felt I was given very good value for money. Comfortable rooms, large bathrooms and high-speed wi-fi connection. The disadvantage is, maybe, that windows are small and street city view is no perfect, but for me it was not of great importance. Roof restaraunt with beautiful garden and terrace is really very nice. Even if you are vegetarian, you can certainly find extremely tasteful meals here. Hotel staff members are very friendly and helpful. Hotel manager miss Phu helped us a lot with taxi, train tickets and many other things. Her english is very good, and it was pleasure of us to communicate with her.

Minh Chau, or the Shining Pearl”
This is one of the best stays we have ever had, & the best value for money. This is pure quality, & it’s all down to the tireless work of Phu & her staff. We stayed in the 1 bed studio. It was a good size, with a separate kitchen (equipped with plates, cutlery etc) & bathroom. The hotel was quiet & peaceful, but very welcoming. The bed was comfortable & there was a good amount of storage space. The Minh Chau supplies exactly what you need, cheaply, simply & effectively. An example – the wardrobe had a well fitted hasp, with which we used our own lock. Instantly we had a lot of secured storage – no worrying about ‘who might know the code’ or ‘how do I fit the laptop in’. It was simple & effective. The whole hotel is run to the same philosophy. Don’t be put off by the Q10 location. It is a real selling point that you are staying in the real HCM. You go out the door, & there is real, very friendly, life. Phu is happy to point out good local traders & cafes. She would also make sure we could get everywhere else - ordering reliable taxis, etc. She made sure we had a map of the city centre to get around & address cards to help us get back. You will notice that Phu is mentioned a LOT. She is simply a brilliant hotelier. She stayed up to meet our late arrival, & was there to wish us a safe journey at the end. She genuinely cares about her guests, & the staff follow her lead. If we ducked out late after a day in, someone would quickly tidy the room & supply clean towels etc. Every staff member would greet us cheerfully. Phu is also a fantastic cook. The restaurant, in the roof garden, is peaceful & romantic. Just the place to unwind with a fresh juice, & enjoy a good meal. We enjoyed every dish we tried. There is a mixture of European & Vietnamese dishes to enjoy, all prepared by hand. The smell from the kitchen is simply divine. The Minh Chau, & its wonderful team, really are a shining pearl of Ho Chi Min City, and we will stay there anytime. In a heartbeat!

Private and relaxing”
Tucked into a corner of District 10, bordering District 3 is Minh Chau Hotel, which may look drab from the exterior but we were welcomed into a beautifully and homely designed 4 storey apartment-like building. Stayed initially for one night as wasn't too sure how the hotel will hold up among the myriad of hotels around the area, but was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the bedroom suite was, which included basic cooking facilities. The room was completely dark with doors and lights shut which was exactly what I was looking for - a good night's rest. However the hotel is located beside a school which meant it could be noisy in the early morning unless you've got all windows and doors shut. Also that the lady owner was extremely hospitable and made our stay memorable enough for a revisit next time we head to HCMC. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, nice room service”
Apart from a clean and comfortable hotel room, there is the Balloon Restaurant on the terrace of Minh Chau hotel has a high quality of food with a reasonable price. Although the hotel is not close to the center of the city, it only took me about 20 minutes by riding buses number 13 and 65 to get downtown, with 5,000vnd per ticket. The hotel is also close to bus stop of the number 7 bus which leads to Chinatown and Binh Tay market. Finally, when it comes to tour booking price, Minh Chau hotel has the cheapest price among the hotels I had been to.

Good Owner”
This was the fifth visit to Ho Chi Minh City. Actually I have been tired of some major sightseeing places, especially in the District 1st, and after careful thought on the website I chose this hotel because many reviewers gave their good impressions of it. Almost all of them told that they could have a glimpse of the ordinary people’s lives there. Indeed the accommodations are a little bit old-fashioned, but this hotel has many unique characters: pretty and tasty rooms with a bathtub or a small kitchen, a rooftop-restaurant space with many green plants and cute fish in the small water pools commanding the local view, and the kind owner, Mrs Phu!! I was so grateful to her for informing me of a delicious and reasonable sea-food restaurant as well as answering my many other questions. Moreover, I was so impressed to hear her own life story in Vietnam and her prospect in the future. I hope that she will be happy after retiring and thank her for having a heartwarming talk.

Best Hotel in Saigon”
I have been to Ho Chi Minh multiple times and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. The staff and owner are extremely friendly. The room was nice for what I paid for. There is a restaurant at the top of the hotel that is very beautiful. The food is reasonably priced and is very tasty (the owner personally cooks it). The rooftop restaurant is open to anyone who stays there even if you are not wanting to eat. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. My only complaints are that the water was typically too hot or too cold. There was also a small window in the bathroom that I was unable to close. Neither of those were a big deal to me though. Thank you to the wonderful staff and owner for making mine and my fiancees stay so wonderful. Will be staying there from now on when I travel back there!

Minh Chau hotel is the best”
I read many nice reviews about Minh Chau hotel and after staying here, I guaranteed that this hotel is beyond my expectation. With reasonable room rate and extremely helpful hotel manager, I could not ask more. My room is clean and neat. Oh and the the restaurant-cafe Balloon on the hotel's terrace serves both Asian and Western foods, which are very convenient if you don't want to go out. The foods are delicious with reasonable price.

Enjoyable, Comfortable, Amazing”
I came to travel Vietnam and this was my first stop. Phu, the hotel manager, was incredible. She booked tours and buses for us, gave us many suggestions for daily activities, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. The rooms were big, comfortable, and had great WIFI. The food is excellent and the rooftop restaurant is a great place to relax and check out the cool surroundings. I only booked one night on Agoda, but ended up staying 2 more nights at this hotel. I highly recommend Minh Chau Hotel.

Good hotel ”
We stayed a night at this hotel because we wanted to be close to the train station. The hotel is located in a suburb area, which is a very nice spot when you are interested in the real Ho Chi Minh experience. We enjoyed walking around in this area for a day, eating some really cheap and good street food and enjoy the nice coffee in the more modern coffee shops in the street of the hotel. Watch out for robbery in this area though! However when you want to explore the hot spots and touristic area of Ho Chi Minh you need a taxi to get there from the hotel, but the taxi's are very cheap so that is not really a problem. In short, a nice hotel for a low price with friendly staff!
