This hotel gave me a good impression: 1. Location: Just a short walk from Exit M7 of the subway. Can't afford expensive accommodations, so staying in a conveniently located hotel is a great choice. 2. Check-in: The two women on the 6th floor have strict rules and require the room number, name, and phone number. This is the only part that wasn't so comfortable, but it's the hotel's policy and must be respected. 3. Beds: There are four outlets, a bedside lamp, a comfortable mattress, a mattress protector, feather pillows, and a down comforter. 4. Bathroom: There are cotton swabs, cotton pads, paper cups, toilet paper, shower gel, and shampoo. There is also a Haier water dispenser, a urinal, four toilets, four sinks, two hair dryers, and four shower stalls with hooks and two-tier shelves, providing ample space. 5. Lockers: The lockers are made of iron and are opened with a key. They are not in the room, which avoids noise when opening and closing. They are placed in a separate space separated by a curtain. They come with large bath towels, blue and white slippers, disposable toothbrush sets, and blue and white flip-flops. 6. Access control: The elevator and room require an access card. There is no need to use the access card to go to the toilet from the room, which is convenient for those who are half-asleep and need to use the bathroom without worrying about forgetting the card and not being able to get back in. 7. Common areas: On the first floor, there are many tables and chairs, a TV, a microwave, a water dispenser, water cups, a sink, and a toilet. It's a great place to grab breakfast, make coffee, and leave after being full. 8. Overall impression: Checked in on April 14, 2012, and checked out on April 16. Very satisfied with our stay at Mini Hotel in Taipei for our 4-day conference. 1. Great location: The location is superb, just a few steps from Exit M7 of Taipei Main Station. There are shops and food options in the underground mall of Taipei Main Station, and there is also a convenience store nearby. It's also very convenient to go to the MRT station in the morning. 2. Comfortable rooms with good value for money: The bedding and the interior of the room are clean. Although the space is not very big, it doesn't feel crowded even with an extra bed. 3. Convenient luggage and key storage service: The service of storing our luggage and key at the front desk was very convenient since our schedules were different. We also stored our luggage after checking out on the last day for easy mobility. 4. Must mention the shampoo and shower gel provided! After coming back, I started looking for the same products because they were refreshing and not too drying. I really liked them. The only downside is that the housekeeping service seemed a bit careless. We requested an extra bed, but they only provided an extra mattress. We had to request for other bedding and toiletries separately. After the room was cleaned, they only took away the used towels and didn't replace them with new ones. There are a few things that some travelers might find concerning: 1. The soundproofing of the rooms is not very good. The sound of water running from the neighboring room's shower can be loud. People who have trouble sleeping might want to prepare earplugs. 2. When multiple people use hot water at the same time, the water temperature can fluctuate. We had to step aside and wait for the hot water to come back before continuing to shower. However, it doesn't really affect the showering experience, and you can still clean yourself properly. 3. In the double room with a loft, there is no railing on one side near the foot of the bed. People who are not tall might want to be cautious or switch positions with their travel companions. On my first day of stay, I didn't sleep well because I was afraid of falling off. Despite these minor issues, overall, it's great to be able to stay at a youth hostel with accommodation quality above average at such an affordable price. I came up to Taipei for a 2-day exam from the south and randomly chose a hostel. I had prepared for the worst and brought earplugs, but this backpacker hostel turned out to be much better than I expected. 1. It's less than a minute's walk from the M7 exit of Taipei Main Station. 2. When checking in, I met two very enthusiastic staff members, a man and a woman, who gave me a warm introduction. 3. There are quite a few water dispensers, unlike other backpacker hostels that only have one or two. It's especially necessary to have cold water in the summer. 4. I slept very well both nights I stayed there, as it was super quiet. Some backpacker hostels have noisy air conditioning or dehumidifiers, but this one didn't. 5. There are also quite a few shower rooms, so there's no need to wait in line, and there's always hot water. The value for money is excellent.

The very reason to stay here is because the pricing is cheap and it is really very convinient location within steps of the Subway Exit of Taipei Main Station, which literally the main train central of Taipei. Also, it is quiet area and not so crowded to walk towards the Hotel. One thing I notice is the housekeeping staff tirelessly would ensure cleanliness of the dorm facilities everyday, which is nice to see and feel comfortable to stay in. Nearby the hotel would also be 2 convinient store (7-11 & Family) for my nightly supper and drinks replenishements. Diagonally opposite the hotel, there is a city bike rental stops, which is nice if i need to ride around to Ximen and some nearby districts. Bed is comfy and have the basics needs to put stuff and hang clothes, and theres lockers to store your valuables so no worries on it. Staff are friendly and would help you if you have queries too.

Great location! It's next to the M7 station. It's generally clean and tidy but not spotless but that's okay. What's important to us was a clean bathroom and beddings. The mattresses were absolutely superb! We slept really well. They have free coffee and tea in the basement with tables and chairs where you can eat your takeaway food. However, some of the staff were quite transactional and one lady in particular was even a bit rude. When she saw us arrive in the basement while she was chatting with another staff, she looked at us from head to foot and stared at us. If she was wondering who we were, she should have asked. I confronted her and asked if there was a problem but apparently, she couldn't understand/speak in English so I just let the attitude slide. Oh well! Good thing one of them, a gentleman (forgot his name), was very kind, helpful, conversational, and spoke very good English. He assured us our baggage was safe at the staircase until we were ready for check-in.
