Situated in Aso, within 30 km of Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto and 38 km of Kumamoto Castle, Minshuku Asogen features accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Location is abit hard to find,but environment is quite and hostel is clean,love the private hot spring spa so family or couple will enjoy their private space and do no need to share with others

Delightful stay”
A surprisingly lovely ryokan experience. Ideally located for exploring Mt.Aso and its craters. The private onsens are so welcome after a day of hiking. Be sure to reserve a dinner during your stay; you won’t regret it. The staff are so kind and helpful, despite our lack of skill in Japanese language.

This was the second time we stayed at the place. It is a small and comfortable place. The host is very helpful and the individual onsen is very good. There is plenty parking space in front of Asogen.

Great dinner and great breakfast. Pls inform the staff if you have any food (religious) restriction as the Yakiniku dinner has beef.

Nice hostel to stay”
There are 4 onsen room you could choose. The staff are nice and if you know a bit Japanese it would help. But do not mean you need to know Japanese. I just like the Old fashion Japanese style building. When I said old fashion doesn’t mean it is old instead it is newly built.

Wish we had stayed longer”
Very love ryokan with private onsen for guests to use (from 4pm to about 9pm, not open for morning use). Private onsen has all the things you need and is quite spacious. Staff is willing to help although he can only understand a few English words. Will definitely visit again!

Value for money! Great dinner!”
For the price we paid, we got a decent room and a really nice Ryokan dinner. Probably one of the better meals we had! Do note that there are no shower facilities within your rooms but I liked that you could book one of the four private onsen rooms so that my wife and I could wash up in privacy. There is a family mart about 8 mins walk away so that was quite convenient.

Awesome breakfast and dinner but the menu is the same Everyday. Hence if you would like to try different kind of food. Maybe you should only book for one day. Staff are very kind and helpful. Private onsen is awesome too.

A warm family hotel”
Because of the bad weather, we didn't enjoy as much as we should. The private bath area is clean and neat, though it required the use of umbrella to get across. The meals provided were wonderfully made.

가성비 좋은 료칸”
식사가 맛있다고 하던데 저녁은 미리 예약해야 해서 못 먹었고 조식 맛있게 먹었어요~! 가족탕도 작지만 프라이빗해서 좋았고 다 좋았는데 밑에 요가 좀 얇은 느낌이라 좀 베겼어요.. 두겹으로 좀 더 두터웠으면 하는 아쉬움이 있네요

Nice and very relaxing ryokan near Mt. Aso. You would need a car to stay here as it isn’t walking distance to much but it has a tasty, large Japanese breakfast and 4 private onsens which we really enjoyed in the evenings. Our room was a good size and had a private toilet. I recommend you add the breakfast and dinner to your stay. We only had the breakfast but the dinner smelled delicious and there is maybe one restaurant that is open in Aso for dinner (a lot of the restaurants that say they are open are not, and the one or two that are probably will be full quickly. With a car we got around easily to all of the incredible sights in Aso.

キレイな民宿”
6帖の部屋を2人で利用しましたが、広さは十分。民宿ですが、各部屋にウォシュレット付きの御手洗はあります。金曜の宿泊で朝食付きで値段もリーズナブルでした。朝食のボリュームもあり大満足。家族風呂もキレイでした！次回は夕食がついたプランでまた利用したいと思いました！

素泊まり、家族風呂4つ綺麗”
素泊まりでしたが宿全体が広くて家族風呂も夜まで自由に使えるのでお風呂と宿泊で十分でした。ただ、夜ご飯は遅いと近くにはないので車で10分ほどの所は行くことになります。お酒を飲む方は飲み屋やコンビニのある別の所の方がおすすめです。
